This is what every musician should aim for. Loving an artist or a song and learning their songs is not just about imitating them note by note, but really understanding the emotion and the musical enviroment intended on every tune, and add a little bit from yourself on It so it becomes something totally new. I through this on my iPod and listened to it at work so I could start getting the strumming patterns down in my head as well as the tones of the notes as there are No tabs gotta play it by ear.
