Nice tutorial on extending the life of a TN. I live very close to the gift shop in Philly, in fact you had to pass my exit on the AC x-way to drive to 76 to Philly. I recently transitioned some of my journaling from Hobonichi to Traveler’s Company and gladly purchased several updated materials since my TN has Midori embossed on it. Your videos are very valuable to me, as I’m a newbie with TC.😍
Yes! you are so close!! I wish I had a midori stamped tn, they are so hard to find and when someone sells it's sold in two seconds! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that it was helpful🥰
This is an amazing tutorial! Thank you! I love the Travelers Company’s TN but that 1 string….ugh! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to do this! God bless!
I'm so glad! I also have an easier mod that uses the spare elastic that comes with the tns (just incase you want to try before committing): czcams.com/video/1f5BqwTFHRE/video.html
Wow!!! I don’t like putting 3 inserts in my TRC TN’s via a jump band because that middle one always sticks out and it drives me crazy! So, I just do two inserts per TN. I’ve seen people stuff their TN’s and the inserts hang out much further than the edge of the leather. I’m shocked that you have so many in there yet they still sit flush to the edge! I always just assumed the notebook was made with the width to only really accommodate 2, but I guess it’s really just those extra strings that you need! I really wanna try this but I’m not good at DIY-ing so I’m kinda scared 🤣 looks amazing!!
Same! the unevenness and spillage drive me nuts! Also, the jump bands break on me all the time! I dont know why!? This was the only solution I could think of and it worked pretty well. Even though I'm only using 3 inserts in my blue TN, I still want options lol. You should totally try it, I promise it's easy and so worth it!😊
Very nice video. I have never considered adding more strings to my Travelers Company leathers. I add 4 notebooks to mine. I enjoyed how chunky your brown one was. I also like how flush the inserts came to the edge of the leather. Thank you for this valuable tutorial. I definitely see myself doing this in the near future.
Thank you! Adding the extra strings really helps with the notebooks sitting flush plus I don't have to fiddle with them before closing the leather cover. Let me know if you do end up modding yours!
Terrific tutorial! I was wondering if more elastic could be added! I also have a needle that came with a Foxy Fix notebook restring kit that I look forward to trying. Loving each and every one of your videos❤️
How did I miss this one?! You are on a roll..I have to turn on the notifications! Gurrl same..I have to contain myself from stationery shopping! That’s what I keep telling myself, and then I cave in! The macchiato Kaweco is on my wishlist, along with 100’s of more things! 🤑❣️✨
Lol I usually post every Saturday, I would post more, but life. Confession: I bought the mandarine one too with my travelers records order. I can’t stop, won’t stop!! Lol I’m eyeing that superior labor pen roll now 😩
@@FrenchyInFocus oh that would be fabulous, thank you 🥰. I’ve just picked up my first official TRC passport TN in blue and I have been so tempted to stamp it. I think it looks lovely.
I was wondering with this modification and the cut lines at the top and bottom holes from the TN, has any of the strings popped out of the holes when using the TN because of the space that it has or is it all really tight enough that with wear and tear it hasn't popped out?
No none of my stings have popped out with wear as of yet. I do the strings a little a tighter than normal for this reason, but not much as I don’t wanna stress the leather. It’s been perfect tbh. I imagine overtime it the strings loose elasticity I could always pull the interior unused strings to tighten the main one just like it would be done normal do for non-modified tns. I hope that wasn’t too confusing 😅
@@YoksnaParaDesign oooo I love the blue!! The patina is so beautiful and it only gets lighter and lighter with time😍 Another thing you can do is add the spare elastic that comes with the tn and feed it through the holes. This way you keep the original string intact. You'll have to do a knot, but that's hidden inside the tn anyway and it still looks hidden just like this mod ☺

@@FrenchyInFocus 😂 YAS to the pen roll…also on my list! ❣️✨
What a great tutorial, Thank YOU! Oh, and thank you for introducing me to a new shop too 😉
Lol I’m glad to help! Thank you for watching😊
Thanks for sharing! I have never bought the official connecting bands but maybe I don’t need to 😂
Lol you definitely don't need them! Those tear on me all the time!
Hi, great video. I’ve had a look but can’t see one showing you adding the white paint to the front cover. Would you consider sharing how you did that?
This is before I stamped it with some of my favorite stamps with some white ink. If you’d like I’ll make a video with another tn 😊

That’s so exciting!!! I love the blue tn it ages so beautifully to an ocean blue 😍
Oh my goodness. I have 6 inserts. Commonplace book, bullet journal, scrapbook, collections bullet journal, lined notebook, and long-form journal.
I love how easy it is to customize these tns. did you add extra elastics too? to me, adding the elastics helped the inserts fall nicely when closed😊
Thank you very much!

@@FrenchyInFocus Thank you! I just ordered a blue one and I am looking forward to doing this mod! Not confusing at all!
