  • I’m telling you all right now....if you are doing this exercise, you are wasting your time.
    In this video I go through in detail why this is not an effective exercise for chest and then give alternatives to growing your chest.
    Sadly, I’ve seen so many guys do this exercise and I just want to go shake them and say, “Please, let’s get you on a cable or some slight decline db press so that you can start actually growing!”
    But in today’s era, most aren’t very receptive to this type of feedback. So I will pray they see this video and take my advice.

    Hi Cris Funny thing about that exercise is that it looks wrong and ineffective. A while ago a young guy started at our gym over here and he was doing that exercise and one of our pti’s told him it wasn’t going to do anything for his chest and put him straight on which exercises to do for chest like you mentioned and his chest took off.     Thanks Cris what is the difference between a backoff set and a drop set?

      a back off set is done after rest. so lets say im doing incline db press and my top set was the 150s for 11 hard reps. I would rest 2 mins then pick up the 100s for another set to failure.
      a drop set I would do 150s x 11, immediately grab the 100s and go to failure. big difference and feel here

    I think Sam Sulek popularized these, never seen if before until I watched him do it in his videos
