I've been considering that guitar for a couple years. I thought it sounded fantastic. I really like the "p90" as the neck pickup. Initially I HATED that color, but as you were showcasing it, I started to appreciate the color combo and now would be very happy with that exact guitar! Thanks Landon for another excellent demo! 🙂👍🎶🎵🎶

I have the Schecter PT SPECIAL with the three color burst and I love that guitar! The thin finish so you can feel the woods grain is really nice . The pups and push pull feature is great for giving more tone options. I bought it after first owning a Schecter C6 Deluxe which is their base model Strat design with twin humbuckers. I liked it so that, after seeing fellow Canadian guitarist Darrell Braun review the the PT Special, I ordered one. Never regretted it for a moment.
Great review of the Schecter PT SPECIAL Landon. I dig the purple burst finish too. Take care man and don't be afraid to check out some more Schecter guitars. They really are well made instruments.

Now, I want it in Purple Burst because of Landon's review. Sweetwater, unlike GC, has special colors for the PT SLS Elite series. And want them ALL. 🎸🤘. These guitars are awesome. You get the arm cut, the wonderful p90, great Schecter action, fretwork and 22 frets. And they are made in South Korea, where the consumer, environmental and employee protections are far better than China. You also get contoured heel, brass bridge. This is what Fender should give you and doesn't. Schecter made it's name by advancing the tech of electric guitars beyond Fender in the 80's.

But I wanted a Fender, so I sold it to a friend. When we reconnected on FB, he reminded me about it and said it had ‘changed his life’. 🤔 . It took me a little while to remember which guitar he was talking about, but that was cool to hear. I don’t think they were made as well as they are today though, from what I can recall.

I considered this model last year when I was looking for a T with proper 25.5 scale. I already had my LTD '87 Eclipse NT in pearl white. For me it checked some boxes, but would need too many upgrades to be worth it. Then I saw LTDs new te1000 black blast! Wow! The exact opposite of my '87 in every way except the body shape. Still upgraded the pots, tone cap and added a treble bleed. Oh, and by the way, it came with Elixirs on it that just sounded way too dark through a Katana 212. Once I slapped on a set of my normal EB 10s (slinkys) it perked right up and allows the GHS Fast Fret to work its magic.

  • @chipispowdercoatingcharles8444

Ive got one and its really a very good guitar with the neck pick up its so smooth and full a definite jazzer

  • @thebehavioralobservationsp8311

I picked up a used PT Special in black. The original owner replaced the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan. All in all, I really like it for all the reasons stated in the video. Super-minor gripe is that I think the tuners are a bit meh, and the tone control does not have a lot of modulation to it. It seems to want to go either all the way on or off, unlike my strat. That said, it's an incredibly fun guitar and a steal pricewise.

12:05 The first ever Fender Tele’s had a cover over the saddle - maybe something like that will solve it (I know, where are you going to get one?). The 3 piece split is sometimes less noticeable on different guitars. Sweetwater lets you compare and choose before ordering, so if you want a less obvious split, pick the guitar where the contrast in grain isn’t so obvious. Great video, thank you!

I've got this same guitar and the Nick Johnston Schecter in Pink. This one feels great, nice smooth neck and it is quite a heavy boi. Negatives were that the bridge pickup is microphonic so that will need replacing and the pots are cheap. They basically go from 100 Tone to zero tone. But other wise it is a great guitar.
The NJ on the other hand overall great guitar, but same problem with the pots, tone goes from 100 to zero. No taper.
On mine, the bridge post on the bass side was not drilled deep enough, causing the plastic thimble to rise up as you tighten the post to deck the bridge.
All things considered, I might have gotten defective ones but they are great guitars. Better than their fender player counterparts by miles.

This guitar sounds amazing, I usually don't look at Schecter guitars, but this is making me think twice!

Looks sweet! Every Schecter I have tried has been impressive. I have 4 of their S style guitars, but no PT, yet. I actually really like the look of the pink Machine Gun Kelly model, even though I have no interest in him or his music.

I honestly thought you were about to play “Beautiful” by Gordon Lightfoot in the Clean tones section. Sharp Tele! Play some Gordy!

There you go again Landon... Hard to believe the Diamond Series used to be somewhat of a 'budget' line back in the day now some models are over 1k easy...

These things look great! My only concern would be the pickguard and control plate aren't the standard shape, so no easy customization in that aspect

    What I like:
    The binding on the body
The wood grain on the body
    The rosewood neck
The position of the selector switch
    The weight
    Made in Korea
    The cleanness of the routing
    The arm carve
    The satin neck
    What I feel ambivalent about:
    The binding on the neck
    The headstock
    The tummy cut
    The colour
The tones from the Bridge pickup as demoed here: sounded too civilised/refined in the clean tone and out of control in the dirty tones.
    What I don't particularly like:
The satin finish on the body; just prefer gloss
The jumbo frets -- woudn't be my choice

So I recently ordered a shecter C6 deluxe for my first guitar directly from Shecters website, that’s a 350 dollar guitar. I just received it and unboxed it and this guitar was in the box, a PT in the candy apple red. I appreciate the mistake they made.

I’ve been wanting to buy the Schecter T-Style, that has Dual Humbuckers and a trem, Forever!! My first real guitar was a Schecter I bought 20+ years ago. Loved it, but then blew my back out, and used the spar parts to hold my spine together. I thought I did, when coming home from the hospital, and realized my guitar was gone! Morphine and Oxy can make you think crazy shi…..O ya, I love Schecters, and definitely want another! Just trying to rationalize why I got rid of it! Back then I paid $650. O well, at least I have my Harley Bentons!!!

Great review, I really like this guitar. How do you think these frets compare to the medium jumbo ones used by Fender? Per Schecter they're approximately 100 x 55. Thanks!
