Thank you very much for the kind words its definitely a great place to visit 😀
😍😍😍 love it !!! Beautiful shots of the Puffins , always so lovely to see them. I’d forgotten how stunning Skomer looks at this time of year with all the Bluebells and Pink Campion. Mr. Stonechat was very accommodating 😊. What a day !!!
Hello both. I'm booked onto a day trip later in June. Hopefully I'll actually get there this year. I seem to be a bit unlucky when it comes to Skomer as I've missed several trips to being ill at the wrong time. Last year I was due to have a two night stay over but in the end had to give up the trip to a colleague.....bummer.
Fingers crossed this year....
Yes hopefully you will get there this year and June is a great time to visit plenty of Puffins returning with mouthfuls of Sandeels. Overnight would have been awesome the best light and pretty much the island to yourself that was a bummer not getting to go so fingers crossed the day trip goes to plan 😀
Brilliant Craig from start to finish well done and the soundtrack was perfect great b roll Mandy i presume loved this film ❤ regards Dave
Cheer’s Dave it was a good trip and Mandy is really enjoying being the B-Roll person 😀
Nice pix. I’m there 2nd week June.
That will be a really good week to be there as Puffins will be very busy feeding the Pufflings so plenty of opportunity for pics with Puffins with mouthfuls of Sandeels 😀
@@craignicoll001 Exactly why I chose it. Last year I went at end of April.
Cracking White Throat shot 👌
Thank you we were just about to sit down on the bench at the back of the farm to have something to drink when we spotted it right by us 😀
Great photos! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a peaceful and beautiful time!
Thank you for your kind comment it was a great day and I am so lucky to have places like this on my doorstep 😀
@@craignicoll001 Yes indeed! I am making the trip up in the summer for a first time visit to Skomer!
@@stef_wildWith your passion for wildlife l am sure you will have a fantastic trip and will capture loads of brilliant footage of the amazing wildlife 😀
Your imagery just gets better and better another great video 👍.
Thank you very much Stephen that is a very kind comment I really appreciate it 😀
Great vid really liked your pics, I am going in a few weeks for the first time, could you advise me on what clothing to take, is there any particular part I must go to, will a 150-600mm and a 70-200mm be adequate or should I take different lenses???? I really appreciate any advice
Thank you glad you enjoyed my video 😀 Clothing will depend on the day l would definitely take a packable rain jacket as weather can easily change and good walking boots as paths can be rugged in parts. I personally would go with the 150-600mm as plenty of reach for smaller birds and Short Eared Owls if you’re lucky.
Due to congestion they want you to walk around in an anticlockwise direction so you will pass all the good spots for Puffins such as the Wick and High Cliff but you will see plenty at North Haven as soon as you climb the steps after leaving the boat.
I wouldn’t bother taking a tripod as very few places it could be used without getting in peoples way.
Hopefully the weather will be kind and you have a great trip and come away with plenty of cracking images 😀
@@craignicoll001 Thank you for your advice its appreciated
@4:38 which part of the island is that please? I didn't recognise it. Lovey video and looks like you had a really productive day :)
It’s a place called High Cliff overlooking South Haven a really good spot to catch Puffins in flight as you can track them from a good distance they are still very quick though 😀
