FUN FACT: The word Legendaley is actually my gamer tag which stems from a combination of the word "legend" and my last name "daley," hence, Legendaley. 😂

If you remember me from my old live streaming / gaming days, here’s why I switched from gaming to fitness content:

You switched from gaming to fitness because you are terrible at video games and decided hey. I can't screw up working out right?😂😂
@@foxxtbe Not sure why you feel the need to make a low blow assumption. If you watched the video you'd actually know the reason.

I've done this. Actually, it was longer than 90 days, and when I returned to playing video games, it was exciting for a out A week. After that, it just wasn't there for me anymore. I think now I just need to accept that I've grown out of video games.
i have done it for over 2 years and still didn't help i don't want to move on
I fell you, but at the same time there is not any good games coming out and the games of today are just casinos full of shiny skins for kids to buy even if the price is 60$+, i think i just miss being happy with my friends at that time. Time flies😢
@@filipedomingos6744 ik bro
@@filipedomingos6744there are some good games out to be all real
Honestly it’s probably because we’ve played all the good games so much and all the new games that are releasing are so boring now. I put 100 hours into Elden ring and that’s how I came to this conclusion. Most game devs and companies just want the money
I miss the feeling of turning on my gaming console and playing for hours as a kid and as a young teenager. Just doesn't hit the same anymore nowadays.
Fr
Im 14 and it is boring for me there just isnt any good things to play and havent been for a few years the lsst good big game would probably be when fortnite came out and until the 2nd chapter or whatever it was great now its all boring
@@yk_Its_jaxGet aPS2 and a SNES. You'll never be bored again.
That’s because gaming ain’t made fun no more it’s all animations less user control
Same it used to be so fun I never got bored but now there is absolutely nothing to do. We need gta 6 and just better games aswell I feel like gta 6 might make it fun again at least for a few months just like gta 5 was for years.
I did a 2 year gaming detox. I got so use to not playing video games I just forgot about them. Games arent how they were when I was younger man.
I couldn’t play games for 2 years due to a broken pc and after getting a new one every game feels so stale and dull
@@user-qv9dc6sr8f9ikr, i should’ve just kept my old pc (it wasn’t even broken or anything, I thought I needed a better pc to play “better” games, but now I regret sinking myself 3,000$ in debt for my new pc. I hardly even use it cuz there’s nothing to play smh, my old pc was just fine
@@user-qv9dc6sr8f9they are always buggy and unfinished, I tried detox, I tried new games nothing
@@user-qv9dc6sr8f9that's not a 'you' problem, new games 'are' genuinely stale and dull.
what did you do without gaming? i really want to stop sitting in my room all day but i feel like i'd just get bored
Games aren't boring, we're getting older and as you get older you experience more games, so everything starts to feel the same until someone comes along and makes a game with mechanics or a style you've never seen or experienced. Games used to last months as a kid, but that's because everything was difficult as a kid. Things get easier as we get older.
I agree. I can’t say that it’s because everything starts to feel the same. At least on my end.
Apex keeps me around, but that still gets boring. Minecraft kept me busy for a bit again, god of war I waited years for like everyone else. Even took some time off from work to play but I only played it through once. Played the first one about 10 times.
I can’t pinpoint what it is, but it’s just getting boring
WRONG it’s basically because of innovation when we were younger brand new ideas of games came out every year so the games were more exciting that doesn’t happen as often now making them seem more boring
No, it's also because back then games were made by gamers and nowadays games are made by just some money hungry companies. There are still some indie games that are still fun to play
Yeah I used to love playing Roblox and now I don't get that same feeling anymore.
Its definitly this. I think that why a lot more people are going back and revisiting games they ussed to play form their younger years instead.
Gaming isn’t boring man its just that they are not making any good games anymore like they USED too
Yeah, most games, nowadays are either free, roam horror games, or FPS shooters
@@theshockerpit7274 elden ring was great

no joke they are awfull, the broken Cuberpunk, Horizon 5, Far Cry 6. I cant believe people choose money over anything
If you are feeling bored or apathetic then it's time to pickup drawing, 3D modeling, programming, or something other than gaming. The issue is that gaming like anything else can get to be repetitive and common. So your brain no longer sees it as novel or interesting. Changing routine or hobbies every few days can prevent this, I personally 3D model when I start feeling this. Also going outside and seeing some nature can help you reset.
Great comment, love this approach
You have been playing same type of games
@@sskarter actually I play a wide variety of games and have thousands of hours in some games. I have over 1k hours in Kerbal Space Program and I have over 2k hours in PUBG.
And I was going to deliberate on my history but instead I'll leave you a partial list off the top of my head.
Ocarina of time, link to the past, minish cap, smash bros, smash bros brawl, harvest moon, Mario, duck hunt, perfect dark, battle at prycon, shores of hazeron, warfare incorporated, plant tycoon, village sim, tradewinds, Joust, Stardew Valley, Halo, COD, rust, cs source, CS go, gang beasts, DayZ, among us, astro empires, empyrion, the original galaxy online.
I've played much more including Indy titles and early access. But I think this should be sufficient to make my point.
// I forgot to mention the racing titles like track mania and need for speed but I feel like need for speed is something I can't enjoy anymore. Racing in general has lost its touch for me.
Thanks gor the advice that really helped me out😊
Skateboarding
If you're playing just to chase that feeling that you felt as a kid while playing games, you won't get it. Just accept the fact that we have grown up. Enjoy and appreciate the game in your own time and moment. Just have fun. Dont keep chasing nostalgia, it wont come.
That was the fun 🤦
Our time has come
Il miss those times
truer words never had been spoken before this
This is so true
I got a ps5 last week and have been playing a little bit of everything and let me just say, my dopamine and serotonin levels are FRIED. I’ve learned with these new games, to just play them one at a time.
I’ve done this before, 50 Days. Please try it! It helps so so so much
Good to see another fellow also experience the same 🙌
I wanna do it
Yeah no I quit playing games about a year ago and games were my whole life up until this point and I feel better than ever but now I just can’t even sit down to play one for more than 10 minutes without being bored😂
You need to get a group of friends and schedule to play a competitive game every night it’ll make things interesting again as long as y’all aren’t bored
Starting to feel the same way but like, what does one do without hobbies? Just work and die? Fuck that I'd rather just hang myself now and be done with it.

Im fearing that i might have outgrown gaming, i had a detox for almost a month, then it hit me when i came back i felt excited, then im so bored while playing(hence i don't have much to play)
It's all about fast game play with no relaxing fun aspect, no campaign, and micro transactions, I'm only 22 but I've felt the gaming industry ruined games for good, I hope not but Bf, cod, and the crew are just not fun, gt7 and sport are all competition based, just too much to relax and have fun😢
I remember I used to grind video games everyday but it got boring so I stopped playing for around 6 months and all of a sudden it’s exciting
Gaming isnt boring when u have friends that play with you
yeah but When friends get boring 💀
most of my freinds play their own games and unfortunuately I can’t be bothered to play those games but you’re right
Bro what friends
I have no friends
then do what the guy in this video does👍👍@@Vyrons_
They don't make decent co op games anymore
Being a young teenager in the early 2010s was the peak, young creative mind with the best games we will probably ever see, atleast consistent good games
I switch up between games, anime, regular tv shows, and alcohol. Works great
Ok i gonna workout and listen to music for 90 days.
how did it go? xD
I keep losing in video games maybe I should do a gaming detox to
I’ve done detoxes before but only because I was addicted to gaming. From personal experience, doing this gaming detox for the sake of making videogames exciting again may work but only in the short term.
It's all fun and games until the loved ones you live with file a missing persons report 😂
Damn ur fams fcked
A year or 2 ago I did one for 90 days and the game felt fresh and I’m considering doing another one
Honestly, games back in the old days were way more fun, even playing those nostalgic games still feel fun to this day... And that is partially why I'm an indie dev now.
I did a 90 day detox now gaming hits like never before, and because of you I'm going to never ever stop gaming. Thanks a ton!
I am 13 rn and this is how I’m kind of feeling now a days I’m going to do this for my whole bb season bc that’s more important and I need to focus on that and when I come back I hope I have more fun.
I’ve done gaming detox once.. and because how long since i play a game.. now I don’t play at all..🗿
The burn out for gaming heat different tho.. until today, i can feel the heat🥲
Best advice I can give… if you feel like gaming is empty try these 3 things:
1. Stop playing for at least a month
2. Don’t do any drugs for that period including alcohol drugs can heighten your levels of reward chemicals making normal things like gaming seem dull
3. Find something hard and rewarding to do like a job or even just cleaning, fill your days with difficult tasks so the game feels even more rewarding
4. Limit social media and online interactions. I know it’s not always feasible to completely cut out all social media but putting time limits can really help.
This all helped me feel the super exciting and rewarding nature of video games I had lost so long ago. The good times seem dull when you don’t have any bad times and doing difficult things truly heightens the excitement that gaming can bring. Thanks for coming to my ted talk
I was on a two year detox where I just thought I was growing out of them, and I’ve just recently been finding myself back on them enjoying my grinds for platinum or in game rewards
I did It for 112 days and it's so fun again
I did it but came back even more bored
me too. did a 3 month gaming detox and its even more frustrating 😄
Also a calisthenics gamer on a detox , finding it pretty frustrating
Haha, I made this video a while back. I’m glad to say that I’ve completely let go of gaming since then and no longer feel a need to play.
Even though I’m a young teenager, I just feel like gaming doesn’t hit the same anymore man, and I have nothing else to really do if I did a gaming detox
I did a 50 day gaming detox and when I came back.. words can’t even explain how fun it was to play. I was playing with friends and the were so nice and I love this experience. Although this feeling doesn’t last forever, it feels so good in the moment.
I agree man. Even me who sometimes plays only a few times a year, its always nostalgic and feels great. People forget how much scarcity raises the value of an activity.
"yeah man just lower your gaming tolerance" 😂😂
Im 18 and for a year Ive been doing this. My gaming sessions are very rare but they are spent 50% of the time well.
Yes, I miss games after 2-3 days of not playing them. Can't do 90 lol.
I just want to say I watched you probably 2 years ago when I was addicted to videogames and mental health was down bad I just want to say you got me on self improvement and changed my life thank you
damn bro, my heart. so happy to hear that for you bro. let’s keep growing together 🥹
For me i focus on ONE game only, and I'll play that game for hours almost every day, then when i get tired I play a different game, and when I do that the other game feels fresh.
I started a gaming detox like 2 yrs ago but i still dont think that ill ever start gaming ever again. I started going to the gym, running, playing some sports and also learned how to play a guitar and piano. If u need any help with ur gaming detox or something related to this u can always ask me 👍
I've previously been on a gaming detox for almost 10 years, gotta say... it hits different
*the long period was a byproduct of life events and choices.
I love gaming again, it's great with the indie scene nowadays
Its helpful for me as I often get bored of video games but at the same time I don't wanna leave them
Dw bro, they wont go anywhere.. they'll still be there no matter how long you step away :)
I've actually done this for about like 1 or 2 years and I came back on 2023 and it was more exciting than before I had a gaming detox, the game was updated and everything was different which makes it feel like a whole new different game!
Although 2 years is actually pretty long for a gaming detox and all I did in that 2 years was watch youtube
Seriously this is the first advice that I've seen that I can honestly stand beside and agree with
I took a gaming detox for 4 months, i either somehow improved or worsened at games but it did heal my brain cells, mind is more calmer and i dont blame my friends when i die in games anymore but when i took a 2 months gaming detox again my skills in fps games somehow worsened and it took me a few rounds to get it back.
i have done this, but it also makes the friends you play with dislike you for just not playing at all
Accidentally did it for like 2 months because of school work yo. When i came back i felt a part of me come back.
i did a gaming detox for 5 months and gaming hits different now
Assassins creed turned into a chore for me & I spent long periods idle in Battlefield. Came back after a few months, I'm finally enjoying gaming again
“If food doesn’t taste as good anymore take an eating detox”💀
5 years detox and still going.. real life responsibilities hits hard bro. Im into plants now though.. growing my own vege garden has its own merits. 😊
Must be nice, ill catch up soon :D
Bro I jave done this just finished my exams yesterday and haven't played anything in 3 months bro I was on for 6 hours straight yesterday after exam it feels amazing
I did a gaming detox for a week and after it ended, I did a 1 hour session. Now every day I feel like I actually wanna play rust, or gta, or valorant
I can do this without even knowin. Happens everytime after a week playing
i did a gaming detox for 60 days and i loved it and it really fixed my life up i totaly recomend it
jus did this for 6 months and now gaming is as fun as when i started definitely recommend doing it
Yea, this is happening to me RN, i'll start this.
Thanks for the idea.
I have a few hours gaming detox every day. 💀
I game, then I watch tv. Fr
That’s a drop set 😭😂
I thought about doing something like this, but it also works for just an individual game as well, I've tried that, and it works!
I did a gaming detox for a week. I loved playing games like forza, fc 24 and fortnite but did slowly start loosing interest. After i came back, i lost all motivation to play anything. All the games are going 📉📉📉 in fun.
I have done a year long gaming detox and when I came back I was amazing experience even games I thought were boring seems a lot fun now
I detox from Monday to Friday every week because the weekends are the only days where I have time to play video games. Honestly, it helps me get excited for the weekend.
bro a 30 min gaming detox is like a week for me...
ive done one for half a year and occasionally i feel a thrill playing gta or spiderman but anything longer than a week or 2 just doesnt feel like it used to or give me the same feeling as a year ago
Ive been on a 5 year gaming detox.... i dont think im ever going back
i’m 15 and i’m addicted to gaming, one time i was really bored of gaming and i got grounded the next day for around 2 months. and i gotta say it works.
I've done this for like 2 weeks....when im back to gaming...bro it feels like i want to play almost every game and i play minecraft pvp even tho im suck at it and i almost play every game i have ever play before...thanks bro imma make this more...
Glad it helped you bro :)
Gaming kickstart also works play a game u dispise for like a week (valorant for me) then every other game feels amazing to play
I suggest these not just to make gaming fun but to stay mentally healthy also try playing with friends it also helps a lot 😊
You know what we’re realizing is that we have a addiction and the effects of long term gaming make me overthink every time, never can choose to play, play something for 30 minutes, having 25 games and not knowing which one to play, thinking if I play this or that it’s not worth it it’s just never ending it’s a clear addiction imo
I did one for 2 months and when I hop on it was 🥰
I did this for a year sadly I accidentally cut my friends out in the process.Although that resulted in them making more friends recently I’ve been gaming again and we got back in touch
One time I decided to pause from playing VR. It was only supposed to be for a day. It turned into three months one day I just felt like I really wanted to play Rec Room. I hopped on it and it was exciting and fun like when I started to play it.
180 days, 6 whole months. This was honesty a good time and I would constantly get told by my parents and friends that I was just a genuinly better person. Came back a week ago and games a better than ever
Stopped playing for about a year and when I came back nothing reignited the spark to play. I play for maybe an hour then get bored, of anything, doesn’t matter what. I guess I just grew out of gaming.
I have been doing one for around a year and a half, I might start back up soon
I did a 1 month detox and when I finished I no longer had that obligation to constantly play and I just lost my gaming addiction.
now that's the best blessing of it all!! congrats
I did 3 weeks detox and only the first 2 hours feel awesome ,but i think playing the time you watch movies 1.5-4.5hrs max and then a break is the sweet spot😊.
I only did a month and oh my
Must've been amazing
I’ve been doing it for about 2 weeks now but I really don’t even want to hop on anymore
i literally took a 9 month break and I still cant find the same enjoyment I only can vibe with other people in a multiplayer game and sometimes i just feel meh and sit there :/
Tbh the whole school year is my gaming detox. Makes summer much more enjoyable
It’s so hard because of the commitment I have to it
Actually do this with everything it works . Taking breaks also makes us become better at our activities .
I'm on a 182-day detox and still going.
And I'm really excited to play video games again
I had a point where my console was messed up and I couldn't afford another so I stopped playing games for about 8 months and I that moment I was in my sports/athletic prime movement so it's also great for your health mentally and physically
I did one and I feels so good to play again
How is the result guys?, I left my thousand dollar account, even I didn't want to.. but I feel nothing to play it again, everytime I have time then I just go sleepy and that's it, my weekend expected to be gaming all day but turns into sleeping all day
I stopped playing games without trying. (Life just was Lifing & I didn’t have time for games). When I came back to gaming. It still wasn’t exciting/ fun. It’s sad. But there’s nothing that I can lose track of time playing anymore.
I have been doing it for the past 6 months. Nothing have changed
Games just dont hit anymore man. Maybe im just grown out of them but man i miss the good ol days of OG mw2 and farcry 1, half life, those were some good ass times.
I’m kinda doing this but not bc I want to bc I have to since my pc broke down
I think the issue the lack of socializing in games anymore, noone talks or chats, its all either party chats or super sweats
Back in middle school during quarantine I played 12 hours a day for an entire summer even with a yearly detox it doesn’t feel fun
Lmao I just don't play games for a while cause I don't feel like it or I feel like I have better things to do or I'm just busy with work.
I did this for over 6months, I came back to my main game yesterday. Uninstalled it 3minutes ago
I quit Minecraft for a year and then I came back and it was the funniest thing ever to see how much it changed
"Minimum a week." Highschool me would have wanted to throttle someone if it was for more than 3 days.
I do this but like a game rotation I play a game for like a few months then I get bored I stop then I play another game and I go like this so it's always fun
I have school, so for 5/6 days i dont game, and oh my god does it feel amazing to just get on and play for 2 days after 5 days of school, homework, and pain
I did this for about a year and man it HITS 🔥
Moving to indies, where you can try fresh concepts and shorter games, also helps
