I feel like this was the first draft in a long time we actually went after all of our needs. D-line, O-line, DBs, TEs and a LB. Great draft gentlemen. Go Hawks!!!

I'm excited to see our new coaching staff in action. Great draft. Getting BM at 16 was huge, and when you put LW in 2nd and Howell in 4th looking at it like that was really great work. Caaaaaw!!

@@troytaylor2375 lol, i meant other times ive seen him. He looks more down to business and in with the coach than he has previously, and i think that should get us hawks fans excited! Really looking forward to this. Jon can finally do what he does best and the coach can focus on what he does best. Pete had too many fingers in too many pies, imho. I love pete and what he did for hawks nation, he is a legend, but it was time for a change.

@Azriel884 100% I'm super excited to see how straight forward our approach is going to be moving forward. Letting John be the GM and Mike being our HC, all the other coaches were hired to do what they do best, not to accommodate and be loyal to everything MM wants (in a toxic way where they can't do anything of their own). The youth of this team feels way better than before imo

I like Mike's charisma. You look into his eyes and the face and feel his determination. It's great he always talks about putting the guys in the fitting posiotion, where tehy can use their strengths, because if you draft per bpa (best player avaliable) you will end up with a mixed bag and have to see what to make of it. On the other hand I'm convinced, Mike will implement his scheme of defence, but they already traded for 2 fitting linebackers in free agency. So I think it will work out

@@edubb2491 if you set yourself up right in free agency, you don't need to mix. In one draft we had Bo Melton and Smith Njigba, both Wide Recievers. We traded Bo Melton to Green Bay, so we got something out of bpa without mixing
Even tho Pete is gone and me going to miss the energy he brought, i’m excited for Mike Macdonald and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

I miss Pete’s carefree vibes but MM is a very stern guy. Hawks need a coach who will instill discipline and order and I think Mike is the man for that. Looking forward to ‘24 season.

John seemed bothered by that long term plan with QB and I don't blame him. Geno made back to back pro bowls with a mediocre-bad Oline and we just traded for a QB who is younger than most of these current draft prospects that already has a full season of experience under him. Do they not do their research?
They did their research. But this is the last year of Geno's contract, and Sam is an absolute circus of a QB. Not sure why age is the metric you use to laud this kid. So unless he becomes a completely different kind of player, they have legitimate long term issues at QB. Fair, and good question.
@@donnydripsfound the reporter. Lol No QB would've succeeded in Washington last season. Horrible coaching staff, horrible Oline, horrible ownership. Considering that, he did fairly well. He has a much better opportunity in Seattle.

I love Pete, but I think the problem was that he had so much fun with the players, there wasn’t enough “fear” to do their job to there full potential. Sort of like parenting, when you become more of a friend than the parent, the child reacts differently.

I feel a weird vibe off Mike McDonald towards John schneider. Seems like Mike McDonald has very broad shoulders and will stick with his own beliefs on how things should go.
Some of these commenters act like they've never seen a draft before. Ignorant input with no context. Like drafting a QB.
1. How do you know they weren't going for QB?
2. Which QB was really available?
Make Mike MacDonald GM ASAP! Did anyone notice how he has already communicated to John the need to call these players “men” and not “kids”. John squirmed like a school boy. Why? Because you can discipline a man and reveal his metal. Kids require the soft glove of a loving parent. Mike is wise. Hopefully, John doesn’t let him down by fudging the boundaries because if they aren’t clear there’s no sense having them. See DK and Mr. Adams for examples 1a and 1b.
