It's actually not insane. He's the best fullback in the world right now and he's only in his 3rd full season. He's 22 I think? He will be hall of fame and talked about for generations

Part of where I'm coming from. He has enormous potential. With good health and physical fitness and the right people around him he will only get better. The physical side is there, and in spades. His footy brain and IQ for the game will only increase and he matures.

Walsh is more elusive with ball in hand one on one he beats you. Slater is more of a team player, he always in the right place whether it be in defence or attack.

Walsh has far too many errors he needs to work on that, there is plenty of time for him to get only get better

He is better than slater was at 21. Only lockyer was this good this young. But kicking onto that next level they reached is not a given. Its the hardest part.
I am a Broncos fan and Walsh is special, but he is far from the complete player. He's got a lot of work to do with defence and mental capacity.
Panthers fan here. I like the Broncos too. You hit the nail on the head. He’s only young he will fill out get stronger. Once his defence is on point he’ll be a complete player. Still fun to watch 👍
He has brain fades and makes mistakes often where as slate was almost perfect
noone thinks hes a complete player. you expect a couple of errors and then he makes up for it
If he starts getting off blatant shoulder charges 1 week out from a grand final, or unpunished fly kicks to the head, then sure he could be the next Slater.

Waaay too early to make a sensible comparison but were I picking a Queensland SOO team I'd pick Slater. But who knows, if Walsh reaches his full potential it might be a different story.
give Reece time to mature and only then make the comparisons. Billy just got better and better over time. He understood team. That's what made him GOAT.
Walsh definitely has the potential to be the biggest superstar our game has ever seen.

Agreed! He is well on his way to becoming a GOAT. Good health physically/mentally, structured life outside of footy and ability to remain consistent will be they key for Walshy.

Slater was a much more consistent player. Walsh has moments of brilliance but too many errors and can go missing

He will be better than Billy, he kicks 40/20's, he can goal kick, he can grubber kick and kick in general play, not to mention his uncanny reading of a situation, and his speed and reflexes off his feet

Unpopular opinion but Brett Stewart was better than Slater. Look at the stats and tell me otherwise. Not to mention Billy played off Smith and Cronk. Only reason people don't acknowledge Stewart as the best is because he didn't get to play as much State of Origin games.

Not a chance! Slater was the best No1 ever. Daylight second. His read of the game was exceptional. His cover defense of his goal line unrivaled by any other back line player ever. Please don’t ever mention the name of Walsh ever again in the same sentence as Slater
