I was originally a Barca fan because of Rafa being signed, just before Messi was signed and started building his clout.

Amazing player one of the only defenders I've seen shut down Cristiano Ronaldo and others. He won team trophies with Barca and Hugo Sanchez won so many individual awards so in a way Rafa is better. I can't believe some barca fans don't know who he is they are glory hunters. He was named as one of the best defenders in la liga history along with Puyol they were an amazing duo

Hugo Sanchez really was an amazing player and sources the golden boot several times, but Rafael is great too, he scores and does amazing passes and he's a defender! And he's successful too and still has one more world cup to give everything he has left. Hugo is amazing and accomplished what no other Mexican player has yet to match but, Rafael Marquez is my favorite player and he has great accomplishments no other player can match either.
I'm just pissed it took Mexico almost a year to put him back on the national team. He IS our Captain and we NEED him.
