very talented she is actually bipolar and has advocated for mental health awareness ....I have seen a cop of her sort of free styling to herself material that I think later gets worked into her acts ...ike a musician hashing out cords to a later complete song

Regardless of all the comments here, I love Bamford's style of comedy. Pity that many dismiss it as incoherent. All it takes is paying attention to the dialogues going on, yes, she does perform with multiple personalities. Why is that so difficult a concept to appreciate?
i've been a fan of hers for years. i had no idea conan's fanbase could be so insufferably retarded to good comedians like her.
Well I didn't like it because I just couldn't relate. Her material is very specific to north american culture but Conans fanbase is world wide. Most people, me included, will just not get her references.

If you look past the silly voices, the material isn't really that funny. Nothing she said in this set would work without the voices, so it's all just too gimmicky for me..
She's not trying to be relatable, not everything has to be the laughter of recognition.
Bamford is such a smart comic and I really feel like so many people just don't GET her comedy. She is extremely unique and one of my favorite comics out there. How she handles mental illness in her work is unseen elsewhere in the business, and SO HONEST. I just finished all of "Lady Dynamite" today and it was stellar, unlike any show I have ever seen. 10/10 would recommend.
I know! that show ruined my day, i had plans, things to do, real world obligations and i got sucked in, i just blew it all off and binged out. damn its so good.

can you explain it please, cuz i'm really confused on how it is funny?
Instead of the normal reaction "those aren't kids names" she assumes everybody knows for a fact that "Donut" and "Golden Hen" are girls names. Also the way she says it and acts is already funny.
She's just being a bit wacky with the joke. Essentially the joke is that she blazes through the fact that those names are obviously not names and assumes that you know they are girls names. And then she does that wise mother voice that's just a cooky cherry on top.

I like a lot of comedians that like her (Oswalt, Posehn, Kreischer), and I've never been able to "get" her standup. It's like someone took the absolute opposite of Mitch Hedberg (male, witty, funny) and branded it as a comedian.
It's the first standup comedy I've laughed at in a while.

She did great. She looked terrific and she's refining her style so that it's more accessible to people without losing her genius, which is not being afraid to show us the inside of her head. Nice job.

And mate, I merely said that since she's performing to a crowd that isn't laughing she's wasting herself when there's a crowd that would laugh across the Atlantic. The Americans have a rich history of ignoring some of their greatest comedic talent because they can't keep up with them (look no further back than the late great Bill Hicks). They are simply too quick to take offense and too slow, broadly speaking, to get the joke.
I'm sorry if you've taken offence to fact, but it's there. Your country has produced some of the best comedic and artistic talent of the past century, but traditionally that talent is valued far more by those outside of the states than those within it. That is just usually how it goes I'm afraid.

Her comedy is definitely not for everybody, but I personally liked some of her stand ups and the "Lady Dynamite" show aswell. For anyone who hasnt seen the show, its all about her basically living her life with cartoon logic and struggling with her own mental disorders. Its something different and a good watch.
