I would say Darkseids main goal is the subservience of all sentient life, having full control and ruling all life rather than destroying it. As opposed to Trigon, who would seem to be satisfied in the destruction of all realms and dimensions simply breeding evil for evil's sake.
Bones are considered as evil as it gets in DC, but Darkseids machinations and ultimate goals are far more common of your standard villain.
Trigon would destroy a planet because he's pure evil. Darkseid would attempt to rule said planet rather than just wasting slaves and resources.
That's the way I differentiate the two

Actually Darkseid is the plutonic manifestation of the concept of evil. When traigon is being evil, he’s expressing the evil that is darksied.
And Triagon battled a mere manifestation Darksied n not his true form. His true form resides in a higher dimension.

Its a little darker and actually makes sense in the dc universe given the laws of they're reality works as story so entertaining conflicts between good and evil is what fuels they're universe and allows it to live so without evil the universe becomes to boring and everything starts running out of juice and falling apart.

My main reason for not following comics is the same as for ignoring many anime series. “The Ultimate”, “nothing can stop…”, “ most powerful…” gets trite pretty fast. It is the reason Batman and Wolverine are more popular. Nowhere near the top of any power scale and thus, understandable and relatable.
I largely agree. In fairness to Raven, and by extension Trigon since he typically only shows up as an antagonist to his daughter, their story is mostly about NOT using ultimate power and just trying to do good despite your heritage.
Ironically, Raven ended up being someone for introverts to relate to because she's so exceptionally introverted it has regular consequences for her mental health and how she navigates social situations. Obviously her extreme magical/demonic powers have nothing (directly) to do with that, showing the importance of writing a full character and not just a vessel for superpowers.
In DC hell Satan is a title not a person so yes you could say trigon is Satan trigon was created because the monks of azurath purged themselves of the evil emotions and wants and those feeling manifested in some woman and she gave birth to trigon

It’s an American comic. God defeats evil all the time regardless of the odds. Besides it’s a comic. Don’t put too much thought into it.
It mostly goes back to Azar, who is the goddess who both accidentally created Trigon by expunging the evil in Azarath (whoops), and trained Raven from birth. The end result is that Raven and the people of Azarath know how to defeat pure evil, and Raven inherited enough raw power to carry it out on her father, but it's only a temporary solution that disperses him so he's not an issue for a while.

I swear to gods. I'm never gonna understand what drugs the idiot who wrote the story at 11:55 was on. How in the world would Trigon ever lose to goddamn Bizarro in RHATO? Jesus Christ. At least even DC doesn't even acknowlege this as Trigon had a cameo in JL #71 and is back in Lazarus Planet
Still, I always find it very intruiging that despite how evil Trigon truly is, he still genuinely cares for Raven in his own twisted way. I remember in his original incarnation, he demanded Raven be surrendered to him or he destroys earth. Then he revealed that he had no intention of keeping his word and only did that because he doesn't want his daughter to get harmed. In the New 52, he straight up fought with Raven side by side as they conquer entire worlds and their father daughter relationship was genuine, albeit in a demonic way. Raven even strived to make him proud and at the end of Trigon's storyline in the 2011 Teen Titans comic, it was revealed that Raven was still loyal to her father. It's just a shame this was abandoned because the New 52 was a huge clusterfuck and when Rebirth came around, Raven was now suddenly against her father with no explanation as to why. Even her 2016 solo run didn't give an explanation why. Even in Injustice, Trigon was pissed off that he had a pissing contest with Mxy all because Trigon thought Raven was in danger. Apokolips War and the DCAMU even took this a step further when Trigon consistently wants Raven to be by his side and never threatening her directly. I really love this aspect of her character and I hope they don't ruin it with that whole Trilogy nonsense in Lazarus Planet
And to make this clear, Trigon ain't Satan. in fact, up until Rebirth came around, Trigon isn't even affiliated with Hell at all, only his sons are. Technically speaking, Trigon isn't even a demon even if everything about him says otherwise. He's just a being made up of pure evil energies. For one reason or another, whoever wrote Rebirth was on drugs and decided to put Trigon in Hell even when all his other incarnations, except for DCeased and Injustice, had no affiliation for the place. Also, he's probably the most powerful demon in all of DC in terms of raw power. Even in the latest comics, Raven has been shown to be far above Neron, a Lord of Hell, so by technicality alone, Trigon should be above Neron as well and Neron is among the most powerful demons in Hell
