i just ordered one (got it for like $700 on reverb) so im gonna lock in with all these long videos out there. i still want to get some sort of mpc later but this seems so solid as a unit
Hey, a way that I found to linear track on any MPC is just using the loop cycles like you would in a daw, loop first 8 bars or so for the first section and loop 9 to 16 for the second. Even loop in the middle to record transitions smoothly. It’s as easy as a DAW. Much love ✌️
Linear tracking + Stems and a better timestretch algorithm would really be a game changer for the Mpc. Let's hope they add this sooner than later, otherwise as much as I love my mpc sometimes I really been thinking about selling it because it doesn't have those features.
My thoughts exactly. I jus moved over to MPC from NI Maschine n I been buggin tryna line up risers n transitions n shit. Love literally ERRYTHING else the MPC got but this one feature would make it 100x better
I’m new to the mpc world as of New Year’s Eve lol. And I’m like I should’ve switched over a while ago. I have the mpc live 2 and I just love that it’s portable and doesn’t have to be connected to a power source unlike the Maschine +
Everytime I see videos like this, it always reminds me of why I'm never getting rid of my MV8000. Devices are still trying to catch up with some of the features from a 20 year old machine.
As someone who used DAWs like FL and Pro Tools for years, I can honestly say that I don’t really miss it all that much on my MPC. Sure it’d be nice to have but honestly I’ve been doing great without it
Yep. I been busy for a couple years. Needed to update so I sold my stuff when I moved across country. Now I’m 2 weeks deep into trying to justify buying another horrendously out of touch workflow MPC or saying screw this and getting the maschine plus regardless of the issues people claim. Still haven’t decided.
The best thing you can do is go to a local music store (prolly need to go to a big city) and try them out beforehand. That's what I did, then again it depends on where you are from. I still think the MPC is waaaay better, but that's personal preference.
I love the hardware form the food folks at NI. Love it!!!’ But mpc has my devotion. Love the work flow. Your channel is so cool…. Hope your loving you X SE!!
I got both. I went from maschine to ableton push then I got a MPC Live 2. The song mode is just not for me on the MPC. Maschine is way better at finishing songs.
Will you please do more explanations on your linear workflow on machine + it’s is the single thing I have the most difficulty wrapping my head around 😅
Yeah ive been using Maschine for years now, and i still havent figure out a good solution for this. And finding a way to make Maschine integrate with any of my daws (all 5 of them lol) just doesnt work out well. And the whole reason i keep trying to make it all work, is because at some point...ITS JUST TIME to switch over to a linear workflow! Otherwise it gets super hard to ever finish out beats.
@@EricJohnson-fh8zj Try using one sound per group, it makes arranging super easy. you can also make a template with scenes pre made, so when you record a pattern once it will populate in all scenes
So I ordered my X SE and I put my Maschine + on eBay. After get a few bids I was like nope!!! I shut the auction down… as much as NI gets on my nerves I can’t detach from my +. Ima have to just rock all three (Maschine +, live II, X SE)
Nah Bruh! The gadgetry is always cool but the sound is what it’s all about! I must say, I’ve only owned the Maschine Studio & the Maschine MK3. But compared to the MPC One & the MPC X…I’ll never go back! If you want to talk about just the features (like linear tracking) I’ll give Native Instruments some love for that, but only thing I continue to use by NI, is Komplete 14 CE! #KeepCreating #ILoveMyMPCs #DJDoubleEdge
I have the MPC and the Force. The Force also has that feature as well as clip launching. You can sync it up to the MPC. I honestly think these two machines were made to compliment each other.
Not being able to live loop different track lengths on mpc is a massive limitation. Ableton so much more powerful , can’t believe they’ve not added that feature …. Work around yes , but the inteript the creative flow
Bolo you have got to use your iPad instruments with your Maschine via midi as well my good man… Im using the sampletank ipad instruments with it right now and the Model D, Synth Master,Pure Synth Platinum and many others and if i want i can use everything inside Beatmaker 3 via midi… but i can do the same with Mpc live 2 but im sure you know about that one… Oh yeah and i have my novation launchpad mk 3 plugged into my maschine using its chord features which is a total God sent able to play chords with feeling, strum and arp, real real nice bro…
I use the Roland Verselab MV-1 personally, and it has its issues. But I swear there is something magical about its mastering chain and the sound you get when sampling (even though sampling on its a pain in the ass). If or when I get the Maschine, I would still run the end result through my verselab
Still not enough to pull back to NI, my maschine collecting dust for over a year. Im MPC L2 brain washed the unit is so convenient Lol.I learned how to convert NI sound packs to use on MPC.
@@marclemar yeah it is pretty funny but it does have Liner tracking and a few other nice features my boy was just showing me….but it’s still not for me….
I live in the Ideas View. I use that along with clips. THAT is my workflow. The Ideas View allow me to experiment, trying ANY combination of patterns on the fly.
You might be able to arrange quicker with LT but not looking at it and using ears and imagining the arrangement can help you be more creative by going off feeling making it more fun and less programmed sounding and predictable I suppose. I remember Chas Hugo talking something about this along time ago concerning touch screens.
I learned on the Maschine and used it for 5 years before getting the mpc. There's a lot of good things the machine does better. Especially using audio.
I use the MPC software, so there's linear tracking on the software. A friend gave me his Maschine Plus to babysit until he's ready to use it. I had to order one of my own.
Does anyone have any reviews on the speed of the stand alone ? As far as work flow and the plus keeping up with evening you do. Does it ever feel slow?
Yup, add the maschine jam and you almost have an Akai Force…almost. You still have to deal with all the crashes and crazy NI support issues. I’m not bitter though as a 10+ year NI customer because I am now also basically a certified tech.
I feel like I get the same experience on my MPC Live simply by using one, long, sequence. How do you feel that the Maschine arranger is different? (I have both the Maschine and MPC, and use both regularly.)
Have you replaced the 64 gig SD card yet? A lot of people have had issues with the plus because of the included SD card. I replaced my card with 128 GB card that was a lot faster. I don’t get clicks and pops. I just done it today And I’m gonna try using stand alone for a bit.
I Had a MPC 2000 .. back in the day! Got tired of Zip drives .. Purchase the MK1 Mashine .. My option NI Mashine I can chop sample Fast .. with the duplicate button.. Vs Akai pad Prameter.. Akai need to do a software overhaul.. so you can set your sampler preferences. In the drop down Tab! However I love the MPC .. sequencer../ after that song Mode.. If they figure out linear tracking then they can figure out how to run both Force and MPC tracks, scenes, clips, programs, sequences, etc in the same machine. Pick your poison and make tracks with whichever one you want. not sure if MPC heads would love that but having both the Force and MPC I would love to be able to use my Force with MPC Software and go back and forth between Force and X Projects.
I have both but I’m sooooo much more familiar with Maschine for years but I just got a mpc live 2 last year and I’m still suck and my sampling sucks !!
It’s still gonna take you a minute, but you have to find a lot more wins with Maschine. I know music theory really well, but I can work with ideas a lot easier/quicker to get where I wanna go. I don’t have to think about theory with my workflow. All I have to do is make it sound good
There’s no way I’m dropping Maschine. Workflow is too good man
Total facts
Why drop?
i just ordered one (got it for like $700 on reverb) so im gonna lock in with all these long videos out there. i still want to get some sort of mpc later but this seems so solid as a unit
is Maschine Mikro garbage or is it me lol, the workflow with Maschine Mikro is so weird .. but I wanna try out a Maschine plus
I LOVE my Maschine! The best workflow ever!
The Maschine workflow is way better than the MPC's.

So I decided on the Mpc because I like the workflow better. In addition, the touch display is unbeatable
@@ameeqalli4248its fact you gotta do all this extra clicking on the mpc that you dont gotta do on the maschines
The Akai Force has linear tracking and it's on the same cpu. Which proves Akai can easily put it on the MPCs but just choose not to.
It has linear tracking in the Arranger which you have to record yourself performing. Hardly the same thing.

My thoughts exactly for fills and rises it’s a no brainer. C’Mon Akai hurry the f@&k up and sort this out
But u can incorporate risers and fills right? I mean just takes a bit more brain work?
You are supposed to use your ears and go on feel. Or use the event editor right?

I love that Ableton finally put XY pads on the Push 3; Quneo had it in 2012 and no one has done it since to my knowledge.
Watching akai still fumbling basic features the mv has had for ages is ridicolous
