I agree 100%. I am doing everything in Maschine but recently in Maschine plus . It's amazing how it can get impossible results. I connect M+ via USB - MIDI and transfer my data ( maybe that's update but still is not USB storage two direction ) . I was surprised with plugins in Standalone mode because they are precise and compressor is Audioable and just internal Maschine plugins are great . I would be happy with USB storage device for managing files from M+ Standalone. Lock States can be placed in Linear Mode like Notes to trigger Lock States or Scenes but I can change program with Nektar P1 for the manipulation of Scenes, Lock States and third one but I can dedicate program Change to specific MIDI Channel to play with Reaktor Program Change. MK3 was disappointed but I couldn't stand to have device not capable of making music so I took a challenge not harder than Video Games today and I am doing everything in Maschine and it's fast and easy especially where I coming from with automation lanes making me tiered while Maschine can make me do unthinkable modulations, quickly and on time on linear Arrangement or Scene.

The fact that it has a single set of stereo outs does not bother me because I typically run every track through some sort of effects unit when recording it into the DAW. When I had my MPC 2500, I rarely did simultaneous multi-tracking, anyway. My only complaint with the unit is that it won’t allow me to use 3rd party plugins.

Year later and I am happy with ability to place Lock States and Scenes right on time line triggering precisely almost like Automation/ Modulation. I miss USB storage device to be able to work in two way direction for file managing. Encoders must be used with TLC and it's is written on Safety Instructions when you open the Box. Manual is important and it's on NI Account. I was disappointed with MK3 so I tried to do everything in Maschine and it's success and now Maschine+ is enough for me to finish everything in Standalone Mode and there's something about how all plugins are working accurately. MK3 is still connected to Computer. MPC was a Thing like Trend and Legacy Standalone Box . It has lower Memory and quality of Sound is different to say. Jam was the best unit and only it was Standalone like this Maschine Plus . Loading Track on Mute Pad while Music is playing and me improvising and then I made transition to the Track, solo that Pad and load next group etc. It's fluid expirience that I was thinking it won't be able to do anything with CPU limitation but it can work wavelessy for 3-5 hours.

But I miss the workflow of the Maschine so I bought the Mikro. I also never used the MPC software in a computer because I don't like the workflow but in the standalone unit it's where it shines. I'm sorry but I think your complaints about the analog outputs are really funny, when you talk about the individual outputs of your old machines, they really aren't from this era and belong to a past where even the old Maschines weren't audio interfaces, you couldn't do what you do today with a Maschine mk3 controller for example, but the Maschine Plus is a sampler and an integrated Mk3.
This machine is a complete workstation, it's also an MPC, it's also a maschine Mk3 controller, it's also a 24-bit 96khz midi and audio interface that handles 24-bit samples from kontakt.
It also has a mixer full of audio plugins to handle each channel of the internal mixer, that's why it's funny to ask this machine for individual outputs because it is designed as an all-in-one solution and not as an external sampler like the classics of the years. 80, 90, 2000, where to connect to your audio interface or analog mixer to process those audios with pedals or processors without being able to automate.
With maschine you can automate everything, anything, it's a machine that simply beats anything old.
And it does not have a touch screen, which for me is an important point since synthesizers and samplers with delicate screens die over time and are very expensive to repair.

This came with a bug which meant the unit wouldn't boot up or off quickly, freezing for ten minutes or more!

Nah, you’re not late. If the Maschine workflow is your thing.. then it doesn’t matter! I find it much easier to work with the M+ compared to all of my other standalone gear.

I have an Idea for Maschine Plus MK2 - it must be 64 pads Maschine with more powerful CPU and more RAM. The design should basically mimic Akai Force. New Maschine must cost not higher than 1599. It must be packed with at least the amount of software and plugins that are included in Maschine Plus MK1. But as I don't like the Maschine software I'll not buy it anyways.
