    5 lug or 6 lug that issue is the same. Truly the biggest issue you need to keep at the front of the project is the wheels and tires you are running. I was really digging into this swap info cause I was on 26" massiv Rims and had 295 30 26R's for the rubber and had them on my extremely rare Onyx Black Tahoe Limited 5.7L last year of square body Tahoe but also the other body was being made and sold same year that when released for the one year trial run(originally planned to ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR THE YEAR 2000, ONLY! YET some how a very very small few were produced early for some of the new unveilings to media were titled different. These are more rare than the already rare 2000. Not many were lucky to get these but I got lucky with mine being one that was titled as a 1999 not 2000. The same year the Z-71 was introduced into the Tahoe line up and we know today the Z-71 stuck around but Limited was just as it was named,Limited. The Tahoe Limited only came in RWD but did offer the G80 Locking Diff rear end and was true to the C1500 5x5 wheel lug patterns which sucked imo. So as soon as I screwed up and bought mine thinking it had to be a 6 lug I removed the center cap that hid the dumb 5 lug nuts and instantly dove into the 6 lug swap on front and rear.
    For those looking for ways it's done there are some ways but listen to someone who did it the correct way completely and save time and shit you may break in the middle of the project and just bite the bullet and order the 5x5 to 6x5.5 adapters for all 4 wheels so you don't have to later on smack yourself when you realize this is the route to save so much time cause money wise didn't matter to me anyways but really neither will be what you may think with total cost. But time yeah, man so much time gone that didn't need be wasted!
    For those ignoring my rant and want to do as I was dead set to do....... Don't say I didn't warn anyone..... Anywho,😭🤨👀
    The front is no problem, you get the c2500 6 lug rotor/hub from 95/99 but it has 100% got to be from the light duty 2500. For the rear before you choose it's important to know whatever you do the rear will be 2" wider on each side. The whole rear end on a 2wd is 4" shorter than 4x4. Another small detail is if you think changing the axles are what you want we'll just remember the differential you will have to mess with. swapping axles is a pain and will still run into the same issue as you will no matter what you do choose to do so why not do it the easiest way and drop the entire rear end that has the same U joint your red old rear end had mating it to the shaft and bolt in a 4x4 6 lug that will give you an awesome option since you are only RWD making it where you can choose a different gear ratio like me going from 3:55 to the 3:73 gears or use same. But it is just drop and swap no messy diff cover off and you just drop put 6 lug rear end under raise and bolt up the new u bolts you buy or should always do this when changing a rear end but bolt it in and hook driveshaft & e-brake cable and then you are almost done. I thought I was but this is where it is details matter to you or not because regardless what you did to have a 6 lug rear end you now will have on each side a 2" wider track of tires than the front when you did the easy rotor swap out. 8 just went on ebay and bought pair of 2"spacers 6x5.5 making the correct even width in front and back so it would look right and have the tires roll in the same path or your trucks rear wheels will track 2"out from the fronts path and you can easily see the difference looking at it from the front or back and some can from side but some don't see it, I saw all sides and instantly ordered spacers. Of course that is when I realized I should have just saved so much time cause the money wasn't an issue nor cost was not much difference but instead of doing all the work since I did all of it not anyone else when you think of all the details when you do it the complete real swap out from 5 to 6 well just some advice if you just want it done fast but 5x5 to 6x5.5 adapters for all guns and you end up with exactly all the same measurements and literally save a ton of wrench time. As long as you don't care bout running adapters and you aren't an idiot that just puts on adapters and doesn't check them so often and re torque them every few weeks I highly recommend 4 adapters but if you want it done correct and have the legitimate swap permanent swap full rear end out not axle shafts and get the light duty rotors with some spacers and hours of your life can be spent doing a 3 to 6 inch slam of suspension or install air ride or like I did after my full swap install a very expensive music set up and don't try to cheat and buy cheap for this. Spend the extra cause man is it worth it. I may have spent $3k on a 9,000 watt 4 12" sub set up with each pair RMS 5k watts and adding a 2nd alternator to run only to the batteries for the 2 4500 watt RMS amps and the 1500 watt amp for the 4 6 " much components and tweeters for highs and 5 6x9s for mids, all the feet of 0 gauge and 12g wiring oh and the 8 total under the truck underglow led multi changing 3 or 4 colors on same light not the cheap shit old ones no these were 4 54"bars and 48" bars.

    Thanks for sharing this man! I have a question though maybe you know the answer, if you had to use a 1” spacer still and cut the the studs, wouldn’t it be the same to just do a 5 to six lug adapter instead? Or I guess why didn’t you do that, is it a less safe? I’m not too sure which direction to go rn.

    • @cali530marcos3
      @cali530marcos3  Před 3 lety

      when your trying to convert from 5 lug to 6 lug or 6 lug to 5 lug the adapters are usually a 2 piece and 2'' inches wide so they are less safe and your wheels will stick out more
