The great deal on the Metabo-HPT saw is because they've just released a new 12" sliding miter saw with drop shadow in corded and 36v, so they're trying to move out the old ones. It's a great time to buy! You're right about the spring deals too!
@DenofTool I have my grandfather’s skill saw that I remember him using when I was 4 or 5 in the 90’s. It’s still a work horse of a saw.
Get those 12" laser Metabo HPT' s at crazy price cuz the updated with the shadow light that is mostly identical are now on shelf

I have found out that if you buy battery adapters for Dewalt, you can also use Hercules batteries or tools

I have a few sets of the Lexivon bits, and I just noticed my oldest set (bought in 2020) is starting to get surface rust on the bits. :/ I'll try and OSPHO them this summer, I guess.

The thing about surface rust on tools that nobody knows, use them. The rust. Will magically disappear. This time, spray or wipe your favorite lube on them before you put them away. No need for any specialized treatments.
Ditto... my inherited pup learned from her older and bigger mentor and was with me 10 yrs after "The Duke" passed.
Use Corrosion X (red). Use green if u only use once every 2-3 years and don't mind "messy" tools.

Just after I watched your video on Monday, I checked the link to the EGO 765 blower - no price or indicated availability; Tuesday it can be found and delivered same day for $296.68 - so the $280 is gone - still a decent price - almost immediate delivery. Just an update on the EGO line - watch the mfg date. The 765 Leaf Blower - awesome blower - but what I found on May 1, 2024 at Lowe's was mfg date 6/2022 - came with a charger 5Ah, also 6/2022 an extra 2.5 battery (2024)for $300 - great deal, bad mfg date; LM2135SP mower was mfg 7/2022 - $600 super charger, 7.5Ah and a bonus 5Ah battery - again great deal, bad mfg date. If you only care about the warranty, it starts the day of purchase. ALSO, LOWE'S HAS NO MORE OF THE EGO 765 IN STOCK AND HAS NO IDEA WHEN MORE WILL BE DELIVERED - PER CORPORATE IN ALBUQUERQUE. I just bought the Metabo 12 inch dual bevel miter saw from lowes for $269.
I looked at the apache cases, they are well built and solid. But I don’t like the friction latches. Better ones would be the latches used on their Bauer modular tool boxes. I picked up the Icon folding knife, it works great, and at 25% off, it was even better.
Excited about the DJI power equipment except for the price tag.
Bear will be chewing the $#!+ out of everything in a few months.. 😊

Just bought the APACHE 5800 Weatherproof Protective Rolling Carry-On Case, X-Large for fifty bucks. This a great deal.I wish I had this when I was traveling back in the day. Could not pass this up. In my opinion this beats Pelican. Had trouble with Pelican The company years ago and haven’t bought anything from them since. Besides that Pelican cases are very overpriced and overrated.
I bought the 5800 this morning as well. I was there at 10:30 and the woman said cases had been flying off the shelves. I've had the 2800, 3800 and 4800. I wish this was larger like the 4800, but I'll use it for heavier gear or for my photography and drone kit if I ever have to fly for work again (hate flying LOL).

I live 100 plus miles from a HF. Those deals don’t do me any good.
I feel your pain... there was a time I only bought HF deals when they were 25 to 30% off of their regular HF prices... and I only had to drive 25 miles. Now their deals are pitched against premium competitors' prices... and their closest store is now .7 miles from my house. Many items are now better quality than their older offerings and I try to buy when their prices are at least 12 to 15 % lower than their regular prices. I still want their motorcycle lift to go on sale for $300... but those days are probably "history". Go to HF when you are going there and pick the low hanging fruit. I do that with Northern Tools when their deals warrant... and I am going 2b near enough to their store. Good hunting my friend. Bidenomics, pandemic induced supply chain issues... improved quality, competition from more stores... have all reduced the magnitude of % off deals. As Red says... "it's deal hunting". I am in a more target rich environment than you apparently are, but HF is adding more locations in more "rural" places. Amazon did not exist when I started buying HF tools mail order. Now I have to drive "around the corner".
UPDATE ON MENARDS. You get 11% rebate not 11% off. Saw is $300 you get a rebate for 11% that is only good at Menards.
