  • The Sony Walkman is a series of portable media players and personal audio devices that revolutionized the way people listen to music on the go. It was originally introduced by Sony in 1979 and quickly became an iconic and influential product in the world of consumer electronics. Here's an overview of the Sony Walkman's history and features:
*1. Inception:* The first Sony Walkman, the TPS-L2, was introduced in July 1979. It was a portable cassette player that allowed users to listen to their favorite music with headphones. The name "Walkman" was coined as a combination of "walking" and "man" to indicate that it was a device designed for portable, on-the-go listening.
*2. Cassette Tapes:* The early Walkman models primarily used compact cassette tapes, allowing users to play and rewind their music. This was a significant departure from traditional home stereo systems, which were stationary.
*3. Evolution:* Over the years, the Walkman evolved to include various formats, including CD players, MiniDiscs, and digital MP3 players. Sony continuously improved the technology, making the devices smaller, more portable, and capable of storing more music.
*4. Iconic Design:* The Walkman was known for its iconic design, featuring a compact rectangular shape with a cassette compartment and headphone jack. It often had a distinctive orange "W" logo.
*5. Cultural Impact:* The Sony Walkman had a profound impact on popular culture. It was associated with the "personal music revolution," enabling people to create their soundtracks for daily activities like jogging, commuting, or traveling. It also played a significant role in the rise of the mixtape culture.
*6. Transition to Digital:* With the advent of digital music and MP3 players, Sony adapted the Walkman brand to include digital audio players and smartphones with music playback capabilities. The Walkman brand continues to be used for Sony's high-quality audio products.
*7. High-Resolution Audio:* In recent years, Sony has focused on high-resolution audio playback, incorporating advanced audio technologies into Walkman devices to provide audiophiles with superior sound quality.
While the original cassette-based Walkman may have been replaced by digital music players and smartphones, the Walkman brand remains synonymous with portable music and continues to be associated with Sony's audio products. It has left an indelible mark on the history of personal audio and is remembered as a symbol of portable music enjoyment.

Thank you for posting this. Filming from close distance was really helpful for me. I have a WM4, which is similar, but without radio.

That’s a very genius idea, drawing the Walkman, and placing the screws where they would go.
    Clever!

@@stpworld then it could be due to several things - I actually think this model has 2 belts - so the second belt underneath could be worn - it could also be that the belt you put on is too big - so try another belt and check if it has two belts

if i saw correctly, i think the belt is supposed to be straight, not twisted, wich is why it wasn't perfect sound. I just heard it in another video :1

The belt straightens when you turn it around sometimes - but I use Universal belts - these are not of such good quality and do not fit 100%, so sometimes you are lucky and other times not 🙂👍

@@THE-xp3hplol, perhaps you could pay someone to 3d model and 3d print a new one, then you could paint it, but duct tape works too 😂

this could be due to several things - I actually think this model has 2 belts - so the second belt underneath could be worn - it could also be that the belt you put on has fallen off again - is too big - or too small - It could also be a capacitor that has given up - but check if the belt has fallen off first and check that it is not too tight - or too loose
