- Welcome to the NORTH SULAWESI - Containing some of the best diving and Trekking in Indonesia.
Join me in this Episode where I take my motorbike Gorontalo to Manado. Arriving at some unique scuba diving sites starting with Olele in Gorontalo, Bunaken marine park and islands, and Lembeh straight.
I also do some hiking to the beautiful Gunung Ambang close to Kotomabagu, Modoinding. And I visit the incredible Tangkoko National park.
The trip carries on from where I left last week in the Togean Islands, I took the ferry to Gorontalo and then visited Olele which is a small marine park in Gorontalo. Here you can see the Salvador Dali Sponge. Which is endemic to this area.
I then leave to enter North Sulawesi and go directly up to KotaMobagu and stay in the village of Modoinding so I can hike up to the first real volcano I have seen in Sulawesi, Gunung Ambang.
From there I head to Manado city and take the ferry to Bunaken island, Which is Indonesias oldest marine park and is incredible. many sea turtles and a vast array of other sea creatures and fishes. I stayed and Panorama Dive Resort and had the best dive guide, Yopi.
From here I drove my motorbike to Bitung and took the ferry to Lembeh island and stayed at Lembeh dive lodge. This area is amazing and full of mimic octopus, wonderpus, blue ring octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish and many many other weird sea critters.
Finally I visit Tangkoko national park and sea the endemic animals such as the Black Crested Macaque and tarsier.

Yes you should definitely consider doing diving. Snorkelling you only see half the things. And I’m very glad you like the channel. Seeing comments like this makes me know I’m doing the right thing.

Excellent videos indeed, not just this one! Great job! I've been to Sulawesi several times but watching this really makes me want to come back. And on a side note - I fully second your opinion about Yobel, but also other divemasters and instructors at Panorama Bunaken. Thanks to Sven I started to appreciate the "small stuff" like nudibranchs. I enjoyed Bunaken so much that I once spent the whole Christmas/New Years period there, diving every day.

5 minutes in and damn. The road you’re on is one I cycled about 10 years ago several times, both solo and while guiding bicycle tours there. It’s amazing to see how much the road has changed. And then BAM! You’re in Modoinding. Easily one of my favorite places in the whole country. Simply beautiful up there. Anyway, back to watch the rest.

First time commenting, I rarely do on CZcams. But what you have created here is great, and it's worth mentioning it. I stumbled upon one of your videos when researching my upcoming Indonesia trip in October. I'm not sure if it was the down to earth personality, the laidback but on-point narration, the synergistic musical score or the top notch cinematography. It just works. And not having any ads is a huge sign of quality and integrity.
I'm convinced you're hugely underexposed on CZcams in regards to the quality work you do and the mesmerising videos you put out. @@IndoWild so true, while in reality what our government need to do is give them some sanction. Do you know that @KristianHansen got a chance to met and talked with our ministry of tourism? Maybe next time Kristian can take you to meet with him too in another talking session and discussing what Indonesian government can do to help tourists like you and Kristian, and take some advantage from that too. Like using your youtube video to promoting some new place, getting new info, etc in exchange for some perks for you obviously.
I have contacted wonderful Indonesia a few times but they are probably flooded with nonsense so never got back to me. Hopefully one day they will reach out

i read about the Wallace Line too. Quite interesting. I am from the Malaysian Borneo Territory of Sabah. I check out Manado is because Air Asia is going to fly direct from Kota Kinabalu to Manado in September 2024. I am a regular diver in Semporna and would like to check out Bunaken in near future.

Visited North Sulawesi a while ago , went to the top of Mt Lokon and went diving in Bunaken what a stunning Marine life, try night diving in Bunaken hopefully still same .
