- A lot of people who are planning on joining the military often wonder how much we get paid. We are paid based on rank and time in service. There are other factors that go into pay as well like flight, overseas, hazard pay, etc. I go over exactly how much the military pays me each money and the additional income I am receiving from my Investments. This information applies to every branch of the military.

This is purposefully misleading. 2.6k is the base pay for an E4- with BAS and BAH this number rises substantially.
How is it misleading if you get all those things ? You still get paid that.
How often do PAs deploy and what do those deployments look like?
It will ultimately depend on the unit you go to. During a deployment 90% of the time you’ll be capturing imagery like a normal wing shop would do.
Suggestions on what we should look for when looking for where to start our investing?
I would suggest getting a handful of conservative stocks/etfs, and then start branching out into industries you’re really interested in (for me it’s Tech) and that will allow you to easily stay up to date
I just passed my ASVAB and PA qualification to get a job like you. Any advice for entering this job and any tips on where I should start to prepare myself for investing properly?
If you get the job then everything you need to know will be taught at tech school. It’s kind of long, but you’ll learn a lot!
I recommend getting in the habit of putting money into your investment accounts each check you receive. The earlier you start the better.

1. The TSP is the Thrift Savings Plan, it’s the military’s retirement plan.

I had no clue pay was so low…. I’m a welder now living very comfortably but also want to join the AF
Pay isn’t the best, but we do it the majority of our expenses paid for so I have the opportunity to invest and save the 90% of my income.
