- Let's take it to the Extreme!
The Meltdown series of tracks for XG2 PC.
Sorry for all the seemingly pointless delays in the menu - I recorded audio commentary to go with the video but it ended up being b0rked. All of these delays are me describing something. :( - Hry
Dont know how I played this as a kid and beat it, it looks way to fast for me now
That pure instinct driven reaction time. Us old fucks eh? 😂

Damn. I wish this game would get an Unreal 4 remake.
Go and Make it. Unreal 4 is a Free Engine, everyone can work on it. U only need Programming, 3D-modelling, and Texture skills.

@@SasNolan except it's a copyright infringement. Someone tried to remake P.T. And Konami took it down.
@Zero Efficiency no, they just shut down the project.
The dude got hired though.
I was saying the same thing, xg2 and xg was the best in the series. I would like to see it on switch though
oh god please no! this game looks ugly, the first one deserves a remake or reboot, this one deserves to rot, the third game make up for all the mistakes done in this one.
I like how the Hydra Prime theme stayed unchanged from the N64 version.
Yeah, they preserved it mostly and I even love N64 version a bit more than PC's. Minimalism and lo-fi quality fits it very good.
This takes me back, I still have the soundtrack in my iTunes.
I appreciate both PC and N64 soundtracks, they're stuck in my phone since 2018-2019. :D
Omg, nostalgia!
Damn !! The game looks so nice on PC and Hi rez...And you also look incredible at this game !!! a shame that we fan of this series are too rare to meet and make some fights... :(
***** Same, I am not really confortable with racing games, BUT I love every techno futurist racing games like Extreme G, Wipeout and F ZERO... + some more that I like to discover ...
XG2 is the one I liked the less compared to the whole serie. I would say that the 3rd is my favorite, but the best realisation regarding the year, is the 1st one. Have a look on my video of the XG series ! (TOP 16 OST)
***** I don't think I can be really objective but I will try to say from my point of view :
First the musics, I am a huge fan of Trance so from that point, OST of the #1 is FAR above the XG2 for me.
Then, the speed feeling is really different. I was always feeling that the speed counter of XG2 was fooling me : displaying a much higher mph than the 1st episode, but without being really faster...
There are 2 kind of XG game through the series, the 4 episodes works by pair :
Extreme G & XG3 : The camera is following the road : smoother driving, more regular speed, tracks smoother as well. It is almost impossible to get a buggy back flip and find ourselve in the wrong side... The game tends to "push" you to a high level of constant speed. There is a higher feeling of max speed. Skill is more important than quick reflexes.
XG2 & XGRA : The camera is attached to the ass of the moto : agressive and more impulsive driving, more tight turning and curves for the tracks as well..In XG2 there is a weird BUT interesting unic speed mechanism : the moto get a huge boost of speed in turning in a tight curve. But then the maximal speed feels limited and that brings a tiny dose of frustration..Quick reflexes is more important than skill.
Also, I was waiting a lot XG2, even more when they all announced everywhere that the game would be supported by the Expansion pack. Using this device could have improved a lot the framerate which is close to unplayability on the N64...This is a proof of a bad design of the game, because the N64 had easily the capacity to make run that game in really better conditions.
Keep in mind that ALL my critics concern the N64 and Game Cube versions ! I have never tried the PC versions ;)
***** nope ! :)
let me see how it looks....

its all about the god damn fps now >:|
I'm one of those "fans" :D
damn the Pc soundtrack is bomb
Sure is! I have all the original tracks and would be glad to upload them if you'd be interested :)
@@UnrealPcube do it with this song on it
especially the part where it kicks in @ 28:39 :D
This bike had the best handling, and didn't really match it's stats well. It was faster than it said
TY so much for the memories, I had forgotten I used to play this a lot :)
Played this game a bit as a kid on PC, never made it past Critical Mass on easy... Now revisiting it on N64 emulator and I think I've even got better at it, haha. And also I truly appreciate both ports' soundtracks. Fantastic job, Simon Robertson and Stephen Root.
Daum extreme g racing was the shit
XG-2 was my jam. I want a new game but unlikely. Dreams
old memories finaly i find games how i play on the begining

Wow.. I miss this game.. so much I use to play

i want a fuckin HD collection for the ps4 or something. all 4 together xd
Интересная игра, оригинальная) Помню играл в 2000 году
Is this how well the PC version runs natively? I tried to install it but it did not work, stating that I require DX5.0 or higher (already have 11) so opted in for the emulation route, on Project64 which emulates Nintendo 64 but the graphical performance is terrible.
any special way to make the game run above 30 fps?. seems like you are plying at 60 fps and looks far smoother than when I play. plus I noticed there isn't joystick support? is that true to?. I use xpadder to use a n64 controller on the pc but have to use the arrow keys. Doesn't bother me though I actually kinda like it. just wondering if it is possible to use a joystick as a joystick.
I have the original PC version from 1999 and it can be played even with a Xbox360 controller with no additional programs. Only thing the game doesn't recognize are the triggers. Increasing framerate increases the speed of the game, so at 60 FPS it would run twice as fast.
Damn i think I got this along with Turok 2 bundled with a video card. Needles to say, my grades went way down for the next couple months.
Great game…
How it should be played. Skilled gamer
do you use any gpu emulator, virtual pc or something like that?. I can install it and i can play it but it has so much graphical bugs because its so old.
+Bogi i also wanna know how he made it work, because i have looked everywhere already and still no luck in making this game look fine
+BirriaBoy64 I'll see if I can put together a howto on it this upcoming Sunday + Monday. :)
please upload the game install files

Anywhere I could get the PC version for cheap? The only place I have found it it Amazon, and they are trying to squeeze >$60 out of it.
Check my channel for the fix !
Damn wish I could get it to work on my windows 10. I play the n64 one using 1964 ultrafast and it's a close Second with no frame dips. But this is so incredibly smooth I wanna play it on it'd hardest difficulty. everything I try always brings me to a white screen saying it has stopped working. I fucked with it for about 4 hours and nothing work's. Got turok 2 forsaken and south park all on pc with physical copies. But I can't find this anywhere and only found the iso to virtually mount but still never launches correctly no matter what I've tried. I'm a nut for getting old games to run on my modern system. But this is the only game I've come across not to work. but again don't have physical copy. Damn shame
I know this is too late, since I already saw you play the Steam version(I asked you about Mirror mode), but I wrote instructions how to make the original game work here: pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Extreme-G_2
@@antoniorsoftware how many occurances change in hexidecimal?, some have like 154 occurances, I used 1024x768 res to get 4:3 borders for proper aspect ratio with hotkey resolution changer...

does anybody know what are those weapons named?
Richard Szeidermann google extreme g 2 weapons, first result is an faq page made by a fan, it has the names listed there, the name that always gets me is multi multi rockets, if im correct to what im hearing?
Multiple Missile, Homing Missile, Mortar, Rear Firing Rockets, Power Shield, Ion Sidecannons, Smokey Exhaust, Flaming Exhaust, Frostball Flare, Rail Gun, Magnetic Line, Leader Missile, Wally Warp, Invisibility, Laser Mine, Immune Ability, Static Cloud, Proximity Mine

the game I got from steam runs 3-6FPS. It runs really slow. any advice?
the music sucked hard, extreme g on the n64 was a masterpiece
