    Dude this is crazy, I bought a rear motor mount last week and it should arrive tomorrow. AND BOOM! You dropped this video right on time!! It's just what I need. The install part is super helpful. Thank you so much, wish I can subscribe ten times. BTW really enjoying the new camera angle. It shows your shifting, and love the sunny road view.

    I got the most aggressive mount from JBR and I love it. Makes the whole car vibrate. The interior is falling apart. Ain't care.

    • @oceanhome2023
      @oceanhome2023 Před 3 lety +2

      Exactly what I was thinking ! I have upgraded motor mounts in 2 different cars and had to replace both of them because they were TOO STIFF . I could not stand the engine vibration BAD ! I had to find a softer motor motor mount . On my VW I was able with a 1/4 drill bit made 6 holes in the erothane material that made it not as stiff .
      So I hope that these are not TOO stiff .

    My early ‘13 ST-2 came with the standard Focus 2.0L rear motor mount. It was fine for the 160 hp. grocery-getter but totally inadequate for the 270 ft.lbs. of the Ecoboost motor. I upgraded to the FoMoCo heavy-duty RMM that was designed to control the low RPM torque of the Focus Electric. It became standard equipment on most ‘14 STs and all later models, and is the standard RMM on all Mk IIII Focus RS. After switching to the heavier rear mount 8 years ago, I have had zero issues with the motor having excessive motion on hard acceleration. The best solution to traction in our cars is putting in a limited slip differential.

    • @CheaperEngineer
      @CheaperEngineer Před 5 měsíci

      Agree. I tried the CPE Stage 2 RMM on my '11 Mazdaspeed 3 and found the increased road noise deafening and the ~1500rpm resonance extremely irritating. The Focus Electric RMM (CM5Z-6068-A) was the perfect compromise, less floppy and jumpy than the OEM Mazda part with no discernable increase in NVH.

    I'm surprised there isn't a replacement part for the secondary piece that attaches to the trans case. Seems like the bushing on the end of that would become the new weak point and may require a little more rigid or just larger radius bushing.

    I have a few friends who did not like the noise and vibration from this they re installed the old motor mount and inserted 3 large bolts in the rubber gaps of old one and it fixed it . You might want to re enforce the old one with some shims to see if it works for you, it won’t cost you any money

    I bought my car a couple months back and I was watching videos to see wha t to upgrade first and I got this mount after watching your video. I had a shop rep[lace it today and my car had a COBB mount on it. Let me just say this mount you have is amazing. I felt a better improvement with it after driving my car. the COBB one had a lot of vibration to it. Now just need to change my shifter bushings, bracket bushings, and install my short throw shifter.

    I turn wrenches for a living and I’m 5 foot 8 155pounds. My point is, when you need extra leverage on a wrench or the end of a pipe, I use my legs, literally. For instance, I had to work on a tractor boom and the arm which the boom rests on is bolted to the tractor and sometimes with a cabbed tractor, especially small ones, there is always one bolt that has to be installed and removed completely by hand. I’ll brace myself on the tractor with my arms and literally use my feet to tighten/loosen a nut or fastener.
