You know it’s a crazy case when someone has “only” been convicted of eleven murders.
People think he only actually committed three - wild stuff. Thanks Texas rangers 🤦🏻♀️
*An hour long?* _Don’t mind if I do._
* Makes cup of tea *
Hope you enjoyed!!
New subscriber here! What a breath of fresh air this content is - no sensationalism, no dramatic narration, no creepy music! I really appreciate your factual 'no nonsense' approach to these cases which can often be incredibly moving (eg your Jo Yeates video) just from the way you tell the story. Totally agree with you about the British tabloids too! 👍👍👍
I love her!!
It’s so interesting to me that for a long time it was made out (at least to me) that he was just “dumb” and that’s why he went along with police rather than them just feeding him the information. HLL fascinates me, the concept of falsely confessing for something as horrific as murder. Very strange
It’s so sad that he confessed to so many cases and they are now lost in the police records. So many unsolved cases. I’m not blaming him as much as I’m blaming the police departments complacency in the matter. Thank you again for your through investigation!
This video makes me feel so lucky that my mother loves me so much. She's like my best friend. I'm 50 and still a mummy's boy. Always will be.
"He basically needs coffee to survive."
Same ☕
My mom is 99% sure she had a close encounter with Lucas and Toole. When she was a kid, she and some friends were riding their bikes in Baltimore, Maryland when two men began chasing them in a car. They ran between trees to try to avoid the car, and eventually a priest from the nearby church came outside and scared the men away. We’ll never know for sure, but it was creepy nonetheless!
Leave it to Georgia to teach me something new in every video. I can’t believe I never knew that Lucas was born in Blacksburg Virginia! I grew up only a 30 minute drive from there and I’m very familiar with many of the Virginian towns in this story. Wow.
I would have watched a 4 hr video from you! Don't be shy next time 😂❤
This is an excellent overview- I've never known much about this case. Lucas' legacy has evolved from a sort of murder 'championship'- "most prolific"- to a question mark. What it should be, as pointed out here, is an illustration how our system fails itself. Instead of truth-seeking, we commit to the conclusions- if not beliefs- that serve us best.
Because of health reasons I struggle a lot with prosessing and containing information, but your videos are always so easy to follow even if the subject maybe is more complex. It's my favourite way of learning new things! :D I would be very interested in seeing a video on the affects and consequences, physical, mental and emotional, of long term solitary confinement! Great video as always
I second the suggestion to cover solitary confinement!
HLL seems like a text book case on the making of a serial killer out of your child. Looking at his childhood photo gives me such a broken heart. How could any mother hurt such a beautiful child? Parents like that are an infection in our society and in my eyes are just as responsible for their children's crimes as the children themselves- although I wonder what made her into what she was. How could any person could come out of that sort of childhood and not be a crazed murderer? I am not justifying his crimes by any means, because my heart breaks all over the place for the victims as well. I had a horrible childhood but I never lost my sense of compassion and empathy for the suffering of others, it's just that I feel compassion for the monster (or more for the good person who was destroyed by the abuse) as well as the monster's victims. This whole case is sickening on every level, from his abuse to the behavior of law enforcement and the involvement of religion. Thank you for another high quality episode. ❤
Addendum: what do you think of the theory that Jeffrey Dahmer was actually Adam Walsh's murderer? As it turns out, there is some circumstancial evidence it was possible although I haven't delved deeply into it. It might be total rubbish.
Is it strange that I listen to these to fall asleep ? I mean they’re nice and long and they’re the opposite of boring. ..
I think this is called laddering in England. Attaching crimes to people who had nothing to do with it. So it clears the enquiry.
A video almost an hour long? Perfect, I am sooo ready 🤩😉
Hope you enjoy!
Thank you Georgia 💕
I think otis tool and him were lovers at one point but your right misogyny is a major factor in serial killers like Lucas. Otis tool also confessed to alot of murders he didn't do. Fictionalised Henry portrait of a serial killer. There's also a Netflix documentary crushing Lucas confessions how could he kill so many people.
you are one of the only people on youtube who treats cases with respect and genuine care. I’ve been watching since the beginning and definitely my favorite channel and of course it’s youtube so you never really know about a person but your clear passion and care for anything and any issues you talk about are so powerful. You deserve so much more support thank you for your content!
I learned so much from this video! I lived in Georgetown for 10 years, was really invested in Debra's case, and still had no idea about the extent of HLL's history there. As a side note, something hopefully a little positive, I remember visiting Debra's grave when she was still a Jane Doe, and then returning shortly before I left in 2022 and she had a beautiful new marker and a lot of people had visited to pay their respects. It was incredibly touching; a vivid example of how important this sort of work is, and how many people in the community really care about Jane and John Does, even after decades have gone by.
I have heard of Henry Lee Lucas before but didn’t know all the details and all the things he allegedly did and said. So interesting. Thanks for this deep dive, I always love your serial killer videos whenever they pop up.
Oh oh! Thank you for covering this! I have always had a fascination with people trying to take responsibility for others crimes for attention or other reasons. Thank you for all your hard work all the time Georgia!
Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
Yes, and false confessions extracted from people who are simply kept in a room for hours and subjected to stress is also an interesting topic- the West Memphis Three case comes right to mind, but it's an eerily common phenomenon. You think no innocent person could be made to falsely confess to something, but it can be done, and law enforcement knows how.
Hi Georgia! Would you cover the case of Paula Elliott? She’s a woman from Lisburn, Northern Ireland who’s been missing for almost a month now and her brother fears she might have been abducted, it could do with more publicity ❤
A Georgia upload means a good day
thank you for always approaching these topics with compassion. i used to sub to a lot of tcc youtubers but its down to just you and stephanie harlowe now
Thank you, I really try ❤️
im honestly impressed that you were able to explain this case so clearly because its such a confusing one. thank you!
7:08-7:19 My mother's maternal grandfather was severely abused by his stepmother. Things got so bad that stepmother's own brothers turned against her and took the little boy into their own home! He grew up to be an educated young man and eventually had a rather large family of his own. He was a bit of a snob and a disciplinarian but as far as I can tell he was well-loved and was relatively unscathed by his awful childhood. Okay so maybe not entirely unscathed, given what I've heard about his strict ways, but hey at least he didn't turn into a serial killer!
I’ve been subscribed for around 6 years, when I was still in high school, and now I’m graduating university. Thanks for always being an awesome creator and keeping me company throughout my degree! Also my mum’s name is Fiona, so awesome sponsor choice 😂❤
You’ve been around for so long, I always smile when I see your name pop up ❤️❤️ your unending support doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you SO much
My strange conundrum is: the justice system in all of these murder cases proved to be a total failure, so why would I rather the real killers be caught and run through the system? It’s flawed in so many ways.
One of my pet cases was investigated as a Henry Lee Lucas case. Her name is Linda O'Day. She was a young woman who was found stabbed to death in her apartment in 1981. She had last been seen alive by her friends after going clubbing during the weekend. Henry Lee Lucas was considered because he has ties to the Delaware area, but I believe the police don't actually think it's him.
Omg! When you said Townsend Delaware my head snapped so fast to look at my tv I have never heard about that case! I grew up in that town and it’s easily 35-40 mins from Elkton, Maryland. Wow!
My favorite true crime content creator talking about one of the craziest true crime cases? Thank you!
Thank you for covering this! I think it's so valuable to look at it from the perspective of the cases that need to be reopened, the way you do - those often get lost in his wild stories. ✨ Thanks for working so hard on this massive video!
I have a sponsor question. Do you get money for just talking about it or do you get it when the viewers go buy the product? Or do you get it less when the algorithm can tell viewers fastforwarded through it?
She gets paid for the ad it self then maybe gets paid for people that use or download as it will be connected to her and it will probably be people who play s a while it depends on the contract she would have signed it’s difficult to pin point exclusive and I doubt she’s going to say as it’s a contract that she would have to sign
For most sponsors I’m just paid for the ad itself and not for each purchase - although purchases and link clicks look good and will mean a brand is more likely to come back to me again and again 😊 sometimes brands will ask for the analytics and will be able to see that people have skipped through the ad, which doesn’t look great but everyone understands that it happens
In terms of actual purchases, very rarely brands will work on a more affiliate basis where I’ll get paid for the ad and then for each purchase through my link but that’s only ever been a couple of times in my career!
@georgiamarie_ this was actually really important info! I just downloaded the game, you're the only crime realted channel I follow because you're very respectful and I love your videos about history too, so any way of paying back is important ❤ also, I need a new puzzle game 😅
You always do a good job of making these complicated cases easier to follow. Your delivery is straightforward and caring. Thank you for what you do.
It's unbelievable such police corruption would not be delt with from a higher level. It's been made public why would regional or even if needs must the president there not have them start again with every case. The officers involved should face consequences for this.
I’ve been watching your yt for years , thank you for always putting in the work to make these videos 💞
I'm fascinated by this case, but there's something about it that always sticks with me. You can tell exactly how stupid US police are from this one case. First of all, they believed him, which.... I don't even know what to say about that. The part that really gets me, though, is whenever the department that "caught" him is asked about the gaping holes in his story, they say "someone had to have done all those murders." They refuse to accept that it wasn't him, because they firmly believe that all of the murders he confessed to were committed by one person. It's clear to me, and I hope clear to everyone who watched this, that Lucas confessed to every unsolved murder they put in front of him. Those murders were probably committed by dozens to hundreds of people.
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT THIS
You should cover some cases that have been closed because of him but not solved
I know a lot of families believed his confessions, which I think was wishful thinking. They wanted answers so bad, they would believe anything
Thank you for the video, Georgia! Can't wait for the next one.
I made it to the end of course! Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication, Georgia!
Excellent coverage Georgia, as always.
Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos, Georgia! ❤️
Thank you for a 1h long video! I really needed it during this long weekend. Great work, as usual!
An hour?! Thank you
Enjoy!
honestly i would be quite interested in a sort of tie-in video about Toole as well, sort of a compare-contrast where his life overlapped with Lucas'? but regardless thank you so much for taking the time to cover this case, i can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to research!
Thank you for making this video, I had heard of him at some point but had no idea about any of what you covered.
Thanks for watching!!
I’ve watched stuff about Lucas before but imma watch again cause it’s Georgia!!
You should see an old episode of the jerry springer show where a woman who is married loves Henry lee lucas and believes he didn't murder anyone
I love your videos!!
Thank you so much for all the quality content you give us. I can't imagine how much work goes into this.
Oh wow thank you so much for this ❤️❤️❤️
@@georgiamarie_ Your welcome. I tip artists & creators when I can. 🙂
Thank You for such a through episode.
Such an interesting video! I really hope the victims get justice one day
Absolutely fascinating and tragic on so many levels.
This is excellent, thank you! Clear, detailed, and you covered the believability issue thoroughly. I was in Austin, next door to Georgetown, at the time Lucas was arrested. So I got the story every day -- front page of the paper and first story in every newscast -- for what seemed like a hundred years. Once it was apparent that Lucas was directing his own circus, I tuned it out and the details all blurred together in my head. This is the first time I've heard it presented coherently. Bravissima!
'if he was happy, he'd confess' yeah these cops knew exactly that he was bullshitting them.
okay just after i made this comment you said the part about him being left alone with the case files. BRUH WHAT
Boy, it seems more and more like nothing says "I want a prestigious job without actually doing work" like becoming a cop.
Crazy police just closed cases on this guy's word
Love ya Georgia! ❤
I like there kinds of videos it’s so interesting how there minds work
He may not have killed all those women, but he and law enforcement certainly killed any chance the victims and their families had of getting justice and closure.
Just commenting for the algorithm 💚
Thanks
the little cops that cried Lucas. A story old as time, an important lesson never learnt -the little boy that cried Wolf. My eyes would be detached from their retinas if they rolled every time there is some big scandal for a lack of a better word, that involves someone crying wolf. The inevitable result is someone else suffers as the credibility of what is cried wolf about is eroded as a result, especially if it's for deplorable things to cry wolf about like rape or in this videos case murder.
This was something a bit different and I found it extremely interesting, the video didn't seem that long to me I think because I was so engrossed.
seems such a nice unassuming little guy obviously a bit bonkers I find it hard to believe he could do anything
I live in Denton Texas and have never heard of his story, just his name from your other videos
Am Besten Die Doku sehen auf Netflix, dann erspart man sich das Gesülze hier.
Wow. 51:54. I had NO idea he'd claimed he picked up a murder victim in my city! Durham, NC. Who knows if it's true.
Happy Easter, Georgia 😊
Happy Easter!
I never knew about this, and I am from Michigan!
If you can ever find the movie “Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer” you should watch it. It’s really old but worth a watch. In one scene Otis and Henry are harassing a couple they’ve tied up during a home invasion. The clip transitions to a VCR recording and looks eerily realistic. The other scenes are actually funny to be honest. They smash a television on a fence’s head. Henry turns to Otis and says “Otis, plug it in” 🤣
You said its really old 😱 I watched it at the cinema when it came out in the early 90s. I left the cinema feeling terrified that people like that are out there.
@@auroraizzy It came out in 1986. Was it the same movie?
@@Fcreceptor the one with Michael Rooker? I watched it at an arthouse cinema so maybe they did a revisit
@@auroraizzy yeah that’s him. Crazy
Pretty sure ole Henry was pulling Everyone's legs! 😁
Yes. I felt a bit sorry for him during those jail clips of him. He seems sweet.
@@24Roxyx Sweet? Seriously? This man who murdered at least 3 people is sweet?

When it comes to true crime CZcams and particularly cold cases, you are hands down, my favorite CZcamsr. The dedication in research, fact checking, and delivery are without a doubt 10/10. Muah! 🤌🏻Chefs kiss! Thank you for being you and doing what you do to educate us, Georgia!!!
Thank you for covering this case! I’m sure it was overwhelming, but I very much appreciate your approach to serial cases.
Thanks
Thank you Jacqui ❤️
