As some one who has played heroclix for a few years now. The only way to learn is to play with very experienced people who will help you learn and have both rulebooks nearby, it is frustrating at first but so much fun to play and collect once you get in the hang of things and become more experienced, it's so satisfying to win in such a complicated game. Please go to you local comic book shop and ask them to teach you how to play you won't regret it!

2023 and no one in my city plays this game anymore. All stores have cut back to almost no new bricks. I'm never going to give up playing though, been playing since 2002

i love the idea of 3d maps. but i feel kie hindering terraine is totaly broken.

Great video!!! I've never seen one with such a fantastic 3-D Map and multiple camera angles!!!The commentary made it easy to follow the match - wish all videos used this format.The players also seemed like great sports!Well done.
I got no idea what happened but congrats to the winner! :)
I saw some mistakes on the fight.
Deondray used TK to get back his figure, without a line of fire.
He also used outwit without having a direct line of fire.
Alex never used Swift´s defense power to choose Combate Reflexes or Energy/Shield Deflection.
And they said that they play for 2 and 3 years?
Deondray had line of fire as Laira did her Move-and-Attack so that she'd be back on the edge of the elevation.
He outwitted over my tiny characters often and also had the Battery with outwit a few times.
I chose the power early to be combat reflexes and never changed it.
All these things were cut. You have to remember that this was edited by someone who doesn't play Heroclix and cut down for time.

I have known about hero clix for a while but this made me want to try it. Also to be honest I seen the green lantern stuff and I hopped on ebay to see what I could find. Yes I am a green lantern nut.

I've played all of two matches of this game. I love it, but this was perplexing.

The Battery gets stronger as it takes damage.

Also if the theme is green lantern corps for leondray, he wouldn't get will power, he would get +1 everything except damage because the ring states that you will get will power but if you have green lantern corps keyword already you get plus 1 so he would have been taking pushing damage
Most Green Lanterns in War of Light get Willpower through special powers. I think he was adding plus 1 to his stats too.

The crazy thing is that while everyone in the comments is talking about how confusing this game is, it's arguably the simplest game in the genre. Although maybe just close to this title since x-wing has way fewer special abilities on each figure.
I miss this right here, old days when people mix things up and themes. Now everyone plays the same teams and every team is ridiculously cheesy. I’m silver age
Emotional spectrum from green abttery doesnt allow that many poisons
Nintendo_ rabbit It allows for 1 free action a turn. There are a few characters that all have poison due to having constructs from the red lantern battery. They only poisoned once each turn.
This game would have had a way different ending or battle because the emotional spectrum from the green battery wouldn't have let Alex do a free action move and a free action poison. Also if the theme

at 3.25 Swift carries Atomica and Despotellis. Why is she able to carry 2 characters?
Two "tiny" characters are equivalent to one regular sized character. Using tiny's is a strategy to be more agile on the map.
A tiny character can be carried by anyone regardless of speed symbol and doesn't count towards carrying a character. So a flyer (or anyone with the carry ability) can carry one tiny size character for free and another character (in this case another tiny size) with the carry ability. A side note, the second tiny size character being carried DOES cause the carrier to get -2 speed.
PAC 2004 quote"TINY SIZE
Modify this character’s defense value by +1 against ranged combat attacks. A
friendly character that is larger and adjacent can use the Carry ability to carry
up to one character regardless of its other combat symbols, does not reduce its speed value for doing so and can continue to use the Carry ability if it can
normally. This ability can’t be countered."
It says you can "continue to use the Carry Ability" while using the special type of carry granted from a larger character carrying a TINY SIZE character. Since you are using a regular type of carry on top of special type, you still get -2 modifier speed for the one being carried "normally"

Any mistakes made by players aside, this is EXACTLY the reason I never play this game at tournament level.
The other player had him dead to rights. Out positioned and out played. Yet the turtle player wins because some guy comes in half way through an awesome game and saves the day for him by calling time.
When doomsday is about to land the killing blow on superman in the comics do u hear someone saying...ok last action, now let's add up the points. No!
That's why me and my buddies always play till the last man is left standing and is exactly the reason the other guy should have won this game!
andyloaded Games can't go on forever in a tournament, sadly. We were also playing a bit slow as it's a little nerve-wracking to play on camera.

I don't mean to be that rules guy, but anyone else find it ironic that the Red Lantern guy said he would have won next turn, but he should never have been able to do the things he was doing all game with the Green Lantern Battery limiting his free actions. You can't free move and poison with the same guys when the GL Battery Emotional Spectrum in play. Both players screwed up on missing that point.
Swift never poisoned when she free moved. Only the Atomicas and Despotelis poisoned when Swift free moved.
How about when he poisoned but also used free actions to outwit or net smoke cloud?

It's a confusing game to learn trust me

The most complex game I have ever seen...
I've been out of the game for two years now and resources are still ruining this game.
Game was played completely wrong....The green lantern battery Emotional Spectrum would have limited his opponents Free action and this guy was doing all kinds of free actions.
Nicknack503 I was only doing 1 free action a turn with the pieces. If Swift used her free move, she never poisoned, only the Atomicas and Despotelis did. I wouldn't have net'ed if that Atomica had poisoned that turn.

I hate players that say things like "You would have been dead next turn". Yes, possibly - but it's not "next turn". It's this turn, and you lost.
Id like to challenge anyone of them 800pts, I've been playing since heroclix was actually folded pieces of paper called marvel roleplaying, i am the guru master and i would smash green lantern lovers....
This game was played horribly incorrectly. Wow! These guys need to go back to the drawing board and learn how to actually play.

If you consider playing your resources incorrectly due to details being cut out I'm not buying it. You guys totally played the Green Battery emotional spectrum wrong by not implementing its stated powers and the free actions that should have been limited per turn with the Red Lantern Team.
Jeff Bozeman I assure you that I was keeping Alex from doing multiple free actions. Everything was done on the up and up.
Everything in this fight is wrong. I've been playing for 9 years and everything they did was wrong. What were the rules? Don't know, don't carte? The only good thing here was the map and even then that would mess with a new player.
This was an edited video of the match. There were some details cut, but believe me, we did everything completely legally.
I watched about two minutes of this and dicided its the most boring game ever.
