Self is the greatest threat, and the biggest thing one must overcome. Self was weaponized against us long ago. Self is the bait, and more and more self is the hook in the bait. Every disobedience declares the headship of the creature as being higher than that of God. Every sin starts with a lie. Just one willful, knowing sin causes the essence of the lie to become one with the essence of the creature. It takes a Divine operation to even begin to undo this, and to restore the creature into a true creature unto God. Even so, it is an engagement, and engagements can be broken. So important to abide in Christ and crucify self daily. God help us all IJN.

WRONG!!! Why do you think Jesus died on the cross for you? If you could keep all of the ten commandments, everyday for the rest of your life(that is the requirement) ,before the crucifixion, then Christ died in vain. We wouldn’t need Him. Salvation is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.
The Ten Commandments were to show us how impossible it is to keep them and that trusting in Jesus shed blood on the cross to pay for our sins was the only way we could enter heaven . The Old Testament books and the New Testament books until Romans, were written to the Jews, before the crucifixion. They were under the Kingdom plan, faith plus WORKS lots and lots of works. We are the church age, saved by grace , faith plus NOTHING.

@@amypope9098 we try not to sin because we don’t want to disappoint Jesus. Before we were saved we tried not to sin because of the fear of hell. If you have never sinned since you were saved and you are keeping all of the ten commandments, then you are saying you are sinless. Only God is sinless. You are the only person on earth that doesn’t sin. Galatians 5:3-5

We all sin Bethany.. The key is having a sincere repentant heart and believe upon Christ our Savior. Talk to our Heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness. Christ said in Mathew 18:21-22, when asked about forgiveness, that we should forgive a brother 70 times 7. If you have a particular sin that reoccurs often, ask Heavenly Father to help you overcome that sin. Heavenly Father loves you and knows your heart and what you are in need of. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you with blessings and comfort.
