    Maneskins cannot be compared to Finland because they are two completely different types of rock. their piece is a masterpiece , without a doubt. the message inside the song is " we (young people) want to distinguish ourselves from a wrong society that suffocates us ", we want to break the rules! Maneskin represents a revolution for Sanremo , because they have always won the ballads and let’s not forget that they are 20 years old. To love Maneskin you must also love and know the rock genre with all its nuances.

    I understand that you don't like this kind of music and I respect it, but please, in Italy we want to get out of the stereotype of Italians who only sing love ballads and things like that. The Maneskin victory was a revolution for young Italians, for years and years young people in Italy have no way of expressing their voice if this voice is different from the "boomers generation", which is why so many young artists go abroad to to be able to work! The fact that a rock band has finally had recognition at a festival that has notoriously crushed every singer who has come out of the "ballad" scheme is really important to us and I would like the world to know that Italians can make good music of any genre!

      The fact that we are discussing about rock states the uge impact this song is having.
      It is a pity not to have it performed with the audience.
      It is your opinion, the legends of rock are the legends of rock: it is a legend the simple fact that Italy for the first time and due to the times is going rock.
      As for the song:
      1) It's pure rock: guitar, bass, drums and a VOICE;
      2) From the opening to the end it's a crescendo and an involving repeting, with variations of the musical pattern, with a bass solo of awesome ability;
      3) The voice and the mixing of rap convey the new concept of "FLOW", that means the flowing from one musical style in to another (Mahmood teaches);
      4) Staging and performance are great because of perfect costumes and lighting;
      5) The interpratation and the power of the lead singer who has enough breath to sing AN amazing number of words without any apparent effort;
      6) The powerful message that the italians and the people of Europe and of the world will get through musical italian words.

    Just for saying, their “costumes” are designed by Etro, so yes, there’s a lot of Italian glam going on. Sanremo has still a big hype here, it’s something you can compare to Grammy’s. Attending singers are normally dressed by Armani, Versace, D&G etc, with a different outfit for every of the 3 nights they perform; they’re there to win Sanremo for the prestige this brings to their own career. Eurovision comes as a plus. That’s what sets Italy apart, and that’s why the country always brings high quality music, liking it or not.

    Perhaps you should be used to rock to understand the 5 different sections of this song. It's not just the same part repeated as you said, there's strings, there's a funky section, there's grunge, and the lyrics justify his angry singing. It's glam rock with funk and rap and the melody is quite clear. You are generally not that shallow to filter the music heritage of a country through clichés. Rock music has a long history in Italy since the early 70es. Some of the finest european prog rock bands of the 70es and 80es were italians.. Rock groups like Litfiba are legendary in italy. Moreover Maneskin also sing other styles. They major hit is "Torna a casa" that sold zillions and it's a ballad with a hint of italian rock. I would have prefered the entry of Madame - Voce, but this one serves well..

    I totally understand & respect that this style of music is not something that either of you find enjoyable, nontheless it's a high quality rock composition performed with passion & energy, in a genre with a clear niche of fans, that stands out from other entries in people's memories, & like most of Italy's other recent entries is very likely to land in the top 10 in the Grand Final. The fan community's response to this has been very positive, & they don't usually love rock & metal entries. If we closely analyse the results of the most recent decade of contests, It's actually very rare that the top ten has more than 1 or 2 dance-bangers in it & we all have to just deal with the fact that many of the songs we like will probably finish lower than ones we don't.

    I feel like that most of the people who comments our choice as who win Sanremo tend to forget that we do not choose people to go to Eurovision. Sanremo was here even before Eurovision. Eurovision took Sanremo's model. When we watch Sanremo, and we enjoy Sanremo we don't think about Eurovision not even once. This year was an unprecedented time for Sanremo, for the first time we had so many young and new artists showcasing so many different genres that are usually 'not allowed' in Sanremo. For us, the new generation, a song like the one the Maneskin brought, is a breath of fresh air and the release of all the tension that we've been having in the country. Zitti e Buoni is what our professors, parents, authoritative figures in our lives say to us to make us quiet and to silence us. It is a critique to our society that doesn't take into consideration the younger generation, which may sound cliché and generic, but it's actually very effective. You actually proved the aim of this song, because at one point they go 'parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di cosa parla' which means 'unfortunately people talk about things they don't know about', and I mean, I think it's very fitting.

    I understand that you didn't like the song, in fact it's strange that here in Italy such a song has won Sanremo and until a few years ago it would have been impossible. Moreover, even here not everyone has appreciated the verdict and there are those who consider it simply "a noise".
    On the other hand, last year with Diodato we brought a traditional melodic song and even in that case the choice was criticized as "too conservative", this year we went in the opposite direction (and in my opinion it's not a bad thing).

    The irony. I was thinking the opposite thing this whole damn time, and I don’t mean tastes in music, tastes can and should be different. Damiano himself is an ultimate crown prince of italian culture. His manners, his energy, his eccentricities. He is absolutely authentic. that was literally my first thought when I saw him. Yes, he is rocking it his way, obviously, luckily, but the rebellion itself is a part of the very same deal, you can’t creat something good without changing the course somehow. But you can actually see centuries through him, that is fascinating.

    Melodic songs are not the only italian songs, fortunately. We have pop, rock, rap, trap and so on. I hate clichés, expecially about my country and there are too many clichés about Italy.

    Måneskin began their musical career by performing on the streets of Rome. They came second to XFactor Italy in 2017. They released the album 'il ballo della vita' (The dance of life) in 2018, which won three platinum records.
    This song is a hymn of freedom against all the people who want us to remain 'zitti e buoni' (silent and good) and against people who don't want us to rebel against injustices.
    Italy presents itself at Eurovision with an expression of new and modern music. Will it be the right year?

    Finland is just decent mainstream rock band, but maneskin with zitti e bouni is perfection with an outstanding performance, that's why i will vote first time in eurovision and hope they will win. Of course everyone's taste for music is diferent, but to watch this reaction video now, then they are predicted winners was pretty entertaining :D

    Måneskin's rock is another type of rock that cannot be compared to Finland, it's italian rock like Litfiba songs, but stronger

However i understand that at a first listening can be a shock!🤣 and it’s difficult for a foreigner to enter in this song without knowing the language....the impact it’s difficult to elaborate...❤️🤟🏽🇮🇪🎸🎇🎆 However they dominated the stage and the competition!!!

    Lyrics English translation:
    (Zitti e buoni) - Shut up and be good
    They don't know what I'm talking about,
    You are dirt of mud, bro
    Ciga(rette)-stained fingers,
    I'm walking with a ciga(rette).
    Sorry, but I do believe so much in it,
    I know I can take this jump
    And even though I have to climb a long way,
    I'm working hard towards it.
    And good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen,
    Take out the actors,
    You better watch out,
    You better shut up and be good
    People around is weird, just like dealers.
    Too many nights locked out,
    Now I'm breaking doors down.
    I keep on looking at the sky like a climber,
    So I'm sorry, mom, if I'm always out, but...

    [Flow]
    I've written so many pages, I've seen salt, and then tears,
    People aboard unable to ride
    It's written upon a tombstone, there is no God at my home
    But if you'll figure out the meaning of Time, you'll be able to rise back up from oblivion
    And no Wind can ever stop your natural power
    From the right point, you'll be windward and sense the thrill
    With wax wings on my back, I'll go looking for that height
    Do you want to stop? Try again, you'll have to behead me, because...
