You nailed it. Sandman is very bright.Had several sources of income besides ecw. Hyperactive brain and a smart businessman. Wouldn't know it by listening to him but he's a sharp guy.
The Sandman had the best entrance and theme song ever the way he walkout through the crowd with a cigarette, kendo stick and a beer in his hand and when he smashed the beer multiple times on his head until he bleeds was the perfect entrance that got me hyped as a kid

In Michigan it was on channel 38 at like 330 in the morning and it was hit or miss. It was weird scheduling but damn do I miss those days

Sandman's walk out at One Night Stand in 2005 was easily the best walk out ever in pro wrestling. Shit was so fuckin bad ass.
The whole energy of that crowd that night was fucking electric since it had been 4 years since ECWs last show, and for all they knew, One Night Stand would be the last.
That was the last great moment in WWE while 2005 was last great year. ONS 2006 was great but not to this level. It all started going downhill after that.
Hands down HANNIBAL is the king of the shoots! And a damn good talent in ring as well!
Sandman always gave good shoot interviews though. I agree, but Kayfabe Commentaries were good ones as well.

I never cared for ECW and barely watched any of Sandman’s matches, but I love listening to this guy talk wrestling. Talk about living the gimmick! Austin pretended to be half the outlaw this guy was and owes a TON to him. What a character.

Austin has given sandman tons of credit for being the inspiration of stone cold but steve was a drinker trust me he was buzzed most of the time and drunk by the time he left the ring after the match. My 2 favorite wrestlers are sandman and stone cold

Still to this day the sandman, dreamer and LSD vs the Dudley boyz match is one of my favorite of all time. That moment when sandman, dreamer, LSD and the Ref does a dropkick to the dudleys in all 4 corners of the ring is one of the greatest moments ever.

I watched him wrestle Sabu front row Tyndall Armory in Indianapolis and they had a ladder out into the crowd& Sandman swung the ladder around and cracked the shit out of this lil boys head 😂 couldn't been over 5, I bet Sandman still has no idea he accidentally did it.. The kids mom or dad( can't remember which) just rubbed his head for a second and back to the ECW action. Best, wildest wrestling show I ever got to see live.. Especially having " Golden Circle" front row seats!!

30 some years ago this guy was working on a concrete foundation crew on one of my construction sites …. He was crazy then .. and a cool dude … and it was freaking nuts the first time I saw the Sandman on ECW and it was like .. Hey I work with that guy !!

Threw is the past tense of throw. Through is a word which means something going the full way in and out of something/someone, or to describe something in its entirety. He threw the ball so hard, it went right through the window. She threw the clothes into piles, as she sorted through the drawers.

Steve has given sandman credit for the stone cold character. Obviously the stone cold persona was after the sandman it would have been hard for steve not to give sandman credit.

@@danielwilson9724 he said the beer drinking sandman's attitude and his rule breaking is what helped him figure out how he wanted his character to be.. obviously sandman didn't come up with the stone cold character but Steve did say he took some of his attributes and applied them to stone cold... And nowhere did I say sandman came up with it or stone cold said sandman came up with it. Read clearly before commenting if you watch several different stone cold interviews he mentions the drinking the rule breaking and attitude in each one of them I don't think in 1 interview he says all at the same time he list them here and there separately in different interviews. I keep explaining and repeating because I wanna make it clear to you because you don't read clearly obviously so wanna make sure you get what I'm saying.. and besides that when you actually wrestle wether it be professional or the Indy's you should just keep your mouth shut. Sandman is your typical dad who drinks beer and smokes cigerettes and decided one day to tell his kids after watching wrestling on tv with them, "hey kids, i might try out for this thing, i might be good at it what do you think? Hey son give me another beer"

@@bkohler89 smoking damage doesn't normally affect you till you get on in years, but then again we all die at some point lol out of everything drugs drink and smoking it's the drink that destroys the body the quickest, people have said though when he's at home sandman is basically a model father it's only when he's on the road he hits everything so bad, I guess that's why in comparison to certain other wrestlers he's doing good.

@@bkohler89 I never said about smoking only at home I mean he only goes real hard with drink and drugs and I also said it's the drink that destroys the body quickest smoking tobacco takes years to really damage the body beyond living comfortably, yes drugs are bad too but between drink and drugs the drink will kill you first unless you have a accidental drug overdose, I'm also not say smoking isn't bad just that smoking won't kill you till you get to a decent age.

When ECW used to be on late at night, I'll never forget hearing the opening to Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and watching this guy come out with the kendo stick and a can of beer. This was years before Stone Cold Steve Austin would chug a beer in the ring. Sandman was doing that same gimmick back in early 90s.

I MET SANDMAN IN THE ELKS LODGE LOUNGE, I JUST WALKED IN AND SANDMAN WAS AT THE BAR AND I SPOKE TO SANDMAN ABOUT HIS MATCH WITH THE HEADHUNTERS, HE GOT HIT WITH 2 MOONSAULTS AND HAD A STEEL LADDER UNDER HIS BACK. SANDMAN WAS COOL, AND TOMMY DREAMER, STEVIE RICHARDS WAS COOL. SANDMAN HAS THE GREATEST ENTRANCE IN WRESTLING. 🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍

Vic Grimes didn’t DIE when New Jack tasered him and threw him off the scaffold in XPW, where Jack threw him so hard that Grimes barely caught the edge of all those tables landing on the ring ropes and BROKE his leg...yeah Grimes was injured. Well, that’s what I remember of it, hell my memory is bad too. But Sandman is a riot!
