New Peak Vise Unboxing

I was too excited once receiving my new Peak LIRS #3 vise I had to turn the cameras on for an unboxing. I plan on using the new LIRS vise for larger bass jigs with larger diameter wire hooks - the example is a Trokar 3/0, a very heavy hook.
Today was 'vise mail' day and I have received a very nice Universal 2 which I will also share. The Universal 2 vise will get a quick clean up and will go onto the web site JayWirthhandtied.com

Rec'd my vise today and a impressive piece of engineering.Very simple straight to the job,-- functions are tight and in tolerance going to get this locked and ready go--

I've seen video on the LIRS and those hooks are secure and not going anywhere. Congrats on your cool new toy. I've never seen that size, just the huge ones.

Yea the PEAK jaw has jaw options and I got both sets, for the same purpose as you did. Worked out good but the jaw pressure for me was just a little hard to manage. So I stayed with it but had gotten spoiled on my very first vise,DYNA-KING KINGFISHER, the grooves in the jaw were very beneficial for hook securing. Unfortunately I was wanting a true rotary for my tying options and the KINGFISHER wasn't capable. So I got a Mongoose, and so far it's sufficient but still hope to find a UNIVERSAL 2 someday, your videos are very helpful when I find one I'll know how to "kick the tires" no pun intended ,THANK YOU for these types of videos as well as your others.

Hello Jay, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my newest vice and also pursuing the LIRS 3 PEAK to enhance my tying spectrum. I ship everything usps priority mail. It might be a little difficult with the website as I couldn't put the true weights for items as the website automatically calculates shipping.
