    Good video, here are a couple of pointers for better accuracy. If your toe isn't set perfectly and the tires are not perfectly straight, your wheel base measurements will not be accurate. Eye balls are ok for this, but strings or lasers are better. Always set toe with the weight of the vehicle on the ground as toe changes along with castor and camber when the suspension cycles.

    Great video, very informative, I’ll be trying it soon, about to install CavFab steering on my 96 XJ.

    Another good video. The bleeping jeep tool, although a bit spendy, is great for setting toe.

      Flat metal rulers with C Vise grips clamped to the rotor will work and usually people have that stuff lying around

    I prefer a sleeve adjustable track bar, makes thing much easier especially when working alone. Cost is close enough to make it worth the difference. I think I paid 125$ for my sleeve adjustable track bar. All good information and presented very well. Great job to you both. God bless and stay well.

    Really can’t wait for this trackbar to come out. Can’t find a company that will let me just buy a trackbar with a johnny joint and not a heim and bushing on the axle end.

    Thanks for the XJ suspension series! I now understand a lot more about my XJ that I bought with 6.5" lift. Been trying to figure out the clunks I hear. Just went and looked to find the track bar wasn't adjusted so the driver side coil has been slapping and rubbing the track bar mount. I haven't fully understood what the track bar did until now, thanks!

      No problem! We love the XJ. We made our first parts for the Jeep Cherokee, so it has a special place at Core. We're glad that we could help in some way!

    Dude just wrap a string around the tires. Sidewall to sidewall all the way around. A taught string is a perfect straight line. You ultimately want the string to lay flat across the front and back of both front tires sidewalls and there to be a parallel gap between the front and back of both rear tires sidewalls and the string. Also the parallel gap at the rear tires needs to be equal driver to passenger side this adjustment centers your front axle. Most jeep xjs I've worked on had a narrower rear track width than the front. Edit to say earlier xjs had a high pinion reverse rotation dana30 it would solve most of any pinion angle issues 👍 bonus they're significantly stronger than a low pinion dana30.

    Have you thought about doing a junkyard high pinion XJ Dana 30 to help with the driveline angle?

    • @core4x4fab
      @core4x4fab  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Absolutely! That's actually one of my favorite upgrades. Just didn't have the time to find one when we did this jeep, unfortunately.

    More on the pinion angles please , I am finishing up my 8.8 swap and Hp 30 zj , drives floaty down the road … making adjustments to the front to see if it alleviate ,,, will the rear pinion angle cause drivability issues?

    • @jeremys.4423
      @jeremys.4423 Před rokem

      The rear pinion angle being out of whack will cause driveline vibrations

    Did you need to get a longer front driveshaft. I've got 5.25" lift and I moved the front axle about 1.5" forward to center the tire in the wheel well and my driveshaft extended out about 2-2.5"

    My only negative here is that you spent all that time WJ swapping a LOW pinion dana 30..... Why did you not pick up a high pinion first?.....
