Why do people make comments like this? You know it's nature right? Animals can be both predators and prey at the same time. The mink is a predator to anything smaller than itself, it's prey to anything larger, just like how the bobcat is a predator to anything smaller, is prey to anything larger. That's how it works.
Elsewhere on CZcams there's a video of a bobcat hunting a squirrel in someone's backyard. At one point the squirrel and the bobcat were both on opposite sides of a tree trunk, both circling the trunk as if perfectly choreographed. These cats have amazing agility
I dont know mink are related to mongoose, weasels and badgers. Honey baggers are likely the best land hunters second to birds of prey and maybe praying mantis if you include insects. It could have gone either way- the lynx had dinner or the minks loose skin enabled it to run away.

I appreciate your comment, but this really is a mink. It's a big buck male. I saw the aftermath, and the mink musk was intense. I'd love to see a fisher and bobcat get into it.
I'm glad we got clarification because I was wondering about that myself. It looks bigger than the minks I see in Kentucky but northern minks may be bigger!
@@mrpeddlethesealionHere you are again. A Bobcat or lynx which is even bigger are a lot more agile and are stronger than a fisher. Sure the fisher would get a few bites in but I doubt it would kill a lynx maybe a bobcat but the lynx would probably have the fisher by its throat and suffocate it.

Fishers have killed lynx in Maine but only a few documented cases. During a snow storm. A full grown lynx and bobcat would beat a fisher the majority of the time.

People underestimate just how tenacious bobcats are. In my opinion they rank up there with leopards in terms of being the scrappiest felids in the world

how many cameras do you have in what areas? i'm just curious how you manage to capture footage like this? what are the chances this all happens right in view of the trail cam?
I usually have @14 or so from southern Maine to the northwestern/western mountains of Maine. I've been doing this for years and have had a lot of failures as well. Lot's of experience in the woods.

It's hard to feel sorry for that mink. They are incredibly brutal and vicious hunters, and will terrorize and torture an animal like a rabbit until it finally succumbs to injury.
The bobcat got a hold of it, but when it treid to readjust it's grip, the mink bit it's nose and held on to it. The vidoe ends with the bobcat trying to get its nose free. The bobcat could kill it, but I bet it let it go. There is another vidoe of the same thing happening with a bobcat and a mink...the bobcat gets his face bit up and lets it go.
people saying the mink never stood a chance have no idea. a mink is a weasel like a honey badger and wolverine and weasels are arguably the most viscious animals on earth. a 35 pound wolverine will kill bears and moose etc. most animals want no part of what weasels can do.
This mink met his end the same way he killed soooooooo many smaller rodents.

That’s basically a fisher, a pretty vicious relative of the mink that can hit 20 lbs, they can bring down deer fawns and foxes.
