    I think acrylic seams to be easier to create the apex then with gel. That is if you know how to work with acrylic 😅 (I only use gel) But different medicine also can cause lifting. and a lot of it too.
    Love these detailed videos! ❤

    Thanks, I have learned so much from watching your videos. Have not tried my acrylic yet, but love, love, love the Protein Bond, I have not had any lifting at all since using it. I follow the prep techniques you have shown for no lifting and with that and Protein Bond I am golden with my gel nails.

    I’ve learned a lot from your videos. I needed this great explanation I get here since I’m self-taught because it became too hard for my mother to go get her nails done and I wanted her to still be able to have her “nail time”. 😊

    Greg, I find my nails pop when they are grown out and just my natural nail is the full extension. I have to cut them off and do a new extension. Does this happen to any of your customers? Thanks for the teaching. Happy Easter to you all.✝️

      I'm curious about this as well.

      This also is happening to me! I’ve filled them about 3 times and now it’s just natural nail and now all of my corners on free edge keep popping :(

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 5 měsíci +4

      There could be a couple of reasons the nails are popping from your natural nail. Most likely is that the natural nail is dehydrated and can begin to pull away from the enhancement. As the nail grows past the hyponychium, it no longer gets the moisture from the nail bed and gets dried out. Make sure to use cuticle several times a day to keep the nail hydrated and flexible.
      Also make sure you are still building up the arch to support the length of the nail. A lot of times, people just do a thin overlay when it's their natural nail, but the nail still needs the proper structure to support the length, otherwise it can begin to separate or get "pocket lifting" in the stress area.

      Thanks for the extra tips. I do have dry nails and put oil on my nails beds. Will put on nail underneath. ❤

      @@youngnailsinc - sure wish you were around when I was going through school 😅. I definitely have the same problem, my natural nails even crack at the edges.
      Could doing more of a curved sculpt help with the stress??
      It definitely seems like although I start out curved, because the sculpt of the nail bed itself is flatter… my nail is growing away from the acrylic.
      Trying a regular flat nail on myself tends to start lifting the natural nail away from the nail bed…??
      I think I may have just figured out my problem!

    What advice can u give with lifting at the free edge, not the cuticle

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 5 měsíci +3

      When the nail grows out and the free edge isn't getting moisture from the nail bed any longer, it gets dehydrated and loses it's flexibility. With wear and tear, it can start to pull away. Make sure your clients are using cuticle oil on a regular basis (at least once/twice daily) to help keep the nails hydrated and flexible.
