It's interesting that Archer Maidens got rejected from Rocket Angel ranks but are able to defeat them in one on one combat

Love how the Archer Maidens just bow whenever you dis-select them.
The Archer Maiden seems to be the most unique of the three, probably because she was introduced in the Uprising add-on. In the main game, the Empire didn't have a low-tier anti-air unit.
She seems to be good against Infantry. But I would've used other units for the job. Due to how expensive she is

Sometimes i wonder why the Uprising DLC didn't have multiplayer cause units like the archer maiden were really cool but then i remember the bullshit units like the Harbinger Gunship or the Giga Fortress...
I think they wanted to sell it separately and not worry about balance/splitting the playerbase.
@@DuckieMcduck that makes sense. Red Alert 3 already had a pretty balanced-ish multiplayer so they didn't need to reinvent it like Kane's Wrath did. I guess now that think about it most the good units in Uprising went to the Allies and they were already pretty strong in base game.
@@Dr.Deluxe Not true, the Allies have best quality units in general, but they build up the slowest. Soviets spam light troops while Empire spamms light vehicles (banzaii)

It's not really fair for Flak troopers to be on the field solo. Because Soviets infantry are supposed to be mass-produced.
I mean, when you see Soviets infantry, you will always see more infantry.
Soviet infantry units more effective in buildings, so you can use them in defence.
One of ideas
1)Training an ingenier
2)Build a bunker
3) In this bunker you can keep:
flak troopers, conscripts, desolatios, tesla troopers or Natasha.
@@user-bk6nx5bn1c If there's anything I learn from playing other RTS games like AOE2 and Rise of Nations is that it's better to rush and do skirmish to disturb the enemy economy as early as possible. And the Soviets are great at that, since their infantry is very expandable and quick to mass.
If you let them boom (aka waste time to build defensive structures like that), then later there's no stopping them from turning all that credit into units and crush your base.
Flak can deal slash damage while other two can't
Then what is the point of having a comparison 1 on 1? The idea is to see who is best among them individually. Flak Troopers being the cheapest is a pro for them since they're easy to produce en-masse.
it's a unit v unit comparison not a tactics comparison. Hence its weakness as a solo unit
Allies: we have the strongest anti air unit in game!
also allies: lets give them lock on so they are even stronger
And that's just *one* of the reasons why the Allies are OP in RA3

Well, gameplay isn't that bad. Only design which is too childish. If there is someone who makes a mod that change the design, it's still one of good C&C game.
ps. ra2 is not a good rts, just rush and spamming units. we don't use brain while playing the game. ra1 is shit..... even with remaster.....
Soviet costs 300, Allied 400 and Chad Empire 500. Maybe nexttime test 8Soviets, 6 Allies and 5 CEs that should be a fair battle.
it's not about fairness the video is individual unit comparison. naturally the Flak Trooper will suffer on his own . the video proves it

Archer Maiden: better anti-infantry than anti-air unit.
Javelin soldier: cheaper, good DPS balance, sweet charge shot, doesn't need an expansion to recruit, and has sick dance moves.
The problem with Archer Maiden is that they are not designed as anti-tank. Their sole purpose are just being counter-infantry and anti-air since Anti-air infantry was missing in the base game. Unlike the other two, they are both anti-tank and anti-air

Flak troopers are cheap, does AOE, ok DPS, but loses out on damage at that front and are apparently bad at dealing with "Armored" units.
Javelins, are DPS focused, single target and does decent damage against "Armored" ( reason why it loses to flak trooper in that 1v1 )
Archer maidens on the other hand are single target ( except their ability ), sacrifices DPS for straight up damage against air and infantry and thats about it though, no use trying to compare the archer maiden in the anti tank role when you have the dedicated infantry for that specific role.

Flak troopers are easier to micro and mass, considering that they can deal damage to tanks when they got crushed by vehicles.

I remember being young, and seeing that one challenge thing where the 2 Japanese generas fight, and there's this field of a crap ton of Imperial Warriors, and then they all use their sword mode and kill each other. After that all i did was spawn Imperial Warriors to banzai each other

Well, technically they are not the units of same class, flack trooper and javelin soldier are anti air - anti armor, while archer maiden is anti air - anti infantry.

in lore, they are supposed to be Rocket Angels but they didn't pass so they proved their worth in the field by basically fending off several strikes from the allies on an Imperial castle using ambush tactics

Hello, so, in Russian version of game, flak troopers quotes sounds as he is a bandit like in Soviet "folklore", meanwhile in English version he sounds more like maniac.

Cmon mate, it's a lady in basically a bikini (i zoomed in as a kid when i notice something was off) was with a large bow and arrow in a place where psychic wizards fight giant death tanks! I also remember never developing Archer maidens again because of the attire... yeah my younger self preferred people with actual clothes...

They already have rockets though. It's just that compared to the Allies and the Soviets (especially the Soviets nobody beats those guys in terms of explosives) their nano-produced rockets just don't have that OMPH! factor. Then again said rockets are placed on turrets that can switch from AA to to land blasters and are on helicopters with legs that can do the same so I say it's a good trade-off.
That and if you think about it: an energy bolt that long on a bow and arrow would discharge a lot of energy on anything it hits and since it's ultra light and is not cumbersome it should hurt a lot so it kinda makes sense.
at 4:56 Does it make ANY sense that how an archer maiden has the least amount of clothing compared to the other 2, but takes alot more hits from a peace keeper?

That's how female armor in videogames work - skimpy clothes that give as much, if not more, protection than full-body armor.
Who can strafe better against incoming bullets. The two guys lugging around heavy weapons or the woman holding a bow with little to no armor?
@@Slith3rdLegion,neither, because I'm yet to see a human that can dodge a projectile that has speed that excels that of sound, and is directed right at his heart. So neither would dodge incoming fire efficiently enough to make difference, and that's where actual armour starts to play role.

Soviets: hardened criminals forced into battle with a heavy flak cannon.

Yep Archer Mistress are infantry specialized. Vehicles and garissoned units would usually be bad for them
I think you could learn more from tg, they did much better on testing units in Red Alert2
Honestly, the only real change I'd suggest is just to end a clip when it's clear who won. Like the one with the bears, it was pretty clear who would finish last once the first bear died.

I love archer maidens . Judging by the video(and my bias) they are probably the best AA low tier infantry to do micro plays,kite etc.,since their attacks are slow but strong and their special ability can wipe out a lot 😁
Unfortunately they were only in Uprising, so no multiplayer and the unbalanced units that were added in to the game cause a problem.

One thing, javelin soldier have more range(like tesla coil) with secondary mode fire, so i think he win 1 vs 1 if he have enough distance.

well, swarming Original Flak Trooper is the reason of nerfing his Cannon, a Heavy DPS Anti-Vehicle Infantry (almost rival to Javelin)
Technicly your testing AA/AT for soviets and NATO but your testing AP/AA for the empire
The test against the tanks made no sense+the structers
Also again the 1v1s the Archer is AP

Ermmm... Archer maidens are antipersonnel. Clearly, they have the advantage against other anti-aircraft infantry.
no not really, in Uprising especially, the borders between anti-(something) are not quite as clear as before. The archer is the perfect example of a mixed role unit.

I think you also should compare an equal cost of the units... So 12 archers vs 15 javs vs 20 flaks. Kinda disappointed in the archers here. With tankbusters around you don't need them to be good against vehicles or buildings, but with the higher price tag they really should never be worse than a jav in anti air combat, which is the only reason you would buy them due to lack of versatility (anti infantry is irrelevant, you have the regular infantry for that)

Archer Maidens are units I'd want to like but I simply don't. Her alternatives are better at fighting stuff from the air and the tank buster takes care of stuff on the ground. Why mass produce archer maidens go combat stuff in the air when I can get jet tengus instead. Wish their attack speed was a pinch faster and their special abilities were slightly stronger. Oh well, better some early infantry anti air than none at all.
They do, in some mod the reload speed has been reduced a bit, and they already surpasse expectation in mass groub, if mass produced more big, they actually can even win fierce battle against almost every unit. Yes the main problem of archer is just their atk speed :(

Soviet mass attack in the air, put 10 angels who can handle faster
infantries in uprising are 10 times more balanced than 1.12
What I really don't like is the fact that the guy with the missile launcher shoots 20 times faster than the girl with the bow. Wtf?
Because their missiles are small and are loaded like dish-type machine guns/automatic grenade launchers.
