We’ve been so excited to release this one! We recorded it way back in the summer with our friend Cicely and had so much fun working on it. While she was in town, we also recorded a big project for our Brooklyn Classical channel together! We chose nine of our favorite opera arias and arranged them for cello and piano, and recorded live video performances of all of them. (People always say the cello is the instrument that sounds most like the human voice, and we have to agree!) BROOKLYN DUO BIO:
Founded in 2014, Brooklyn Duo has quickly established itself as one of today’s most successful classical crossover ensembles. Through its creative arrangements and live video performances, the piano and cello duo has garnered a huge following, with over 900,000 CZcams subscribers, and over 150 million streams annually on platforms such as Spotify and Pandora Radio.
In 2014, the couple arranged and recorded two pop covers and released them on CZcams. Shakira noticed the duo’s cover and promoted it to her 130 million-plus fan base, saying: “We're loving Brooklyn Duo's piano/cello cover of Empire! Great work guys." The boost that resulted from that exposure and the positive response they were getting on CZcams encouraged the couple to continue creating videos. I've never heard a more perfect cello duet. The way Cicely and Patrick play with and against each other is just amazing, almost like a single cellist playing two instruments at once.

I'll try to explain why some people dislike this. The two girls were great. No complaints there. The guy here way over played it. I don't know if he was trying to show off or trying to add his personal touch or whatever but he completely ruined the entire piece.
Michael Lundy I think of the exact opposite way. I think he did a great job with playing that „aggressive“ haha it gave this piece way more tension on my opinion :)

As a long distance runner, I don't listen to music when running but, if I did, I think I would have this number on my play list ! I can well imagine running along trails in the alps on warm sunny days with this gentle number to keep me company and using it to keep pace !!
