Well Here I am minding my own business snooping around by the auto plant looking for anything suspicious. I have a crazy theory related to the auto plant so let me know if you wanna see something on that! Anyway, I noticed the huge solar panels and wanted to see what secrets that they hold at the top. But I quickly realized that I wouldn't be able to climb this by any normal means as you slide down it whenever you try to run up it. Good thing I'm a wizard and can fly up there using the broomstick. It took a few tries but when I finally got up there, I got on top of this ambulance for a better view and noticed something gold was pinged by my senses.
I couldn't tell what it was so I went over there and noticed it looked like a crystal covered in corrosion. So I thought I'd run in there and give it a nice little love tap with my sword, but it still wouldn't budge. I went into the corroded land to try and open the crystal and succeeded but died as soon as it was opened. I thought maybe it was still possible and headed over again. When I finally got there I looked at that crystal sitting there so peacefully and then I realized the bridge takes you right here and you could get here faster if you just follow the bridge down. But I still enjoy taking the long way. I went back to the crystal and decided to give it one last try, I jumped off too early, and I still perished.
That's when I came to the conclusion that techland doesn't want you to open it. But just then I had a bright idea... Why don't I try this with my brother? So long story short and 6 days later me and my brother got on to see what this crystal hides.
The whole theory behind this plan was to have my brother open the crystal node and perish with honor in the corroded area of the auto plant, then I would go have a looksie at what Techland didn't want us to see...
We started our adventure back towards the Auto Plant to figure out just what was inside that rock. It was a whole journey and a half but we still trudge on!
I flew over to the solar panels and landed very gracefully but had to pick my brother up because he came in by crash landing! I informed him we can't run up the solar panels, we would have to fly! I got on my broomstick and flew up there perfectly on my second try.
It took my brother a few tries and a few sliding down the panels to finally reach the top. But when he finally got there he looked at it, and never felt so confident about breaking something in his life. He ran at the crystal, broke it open, and perished... just as planned! Lol I went to investigate what techland didn't want us to see and it was just a blue crystal core. One stupid question though, why is it surrounded by corrosion? Don't try to duplicate the broom, if you put it down it turns into a tree branch and cannot be picked back up.

Originally it would phase the part that is intractable through the floor so you couldn't be picked up so if you wanted to dupe it would be on a table, but since then they mostly just disappear

They are in the corrosion or the THV because it is formed from the THV, it’s really there for curiosity and for added detail. There’s also a reason why they form in the hospital THV rooms…

Or maybe it was randomnly placed there just like the other 100 things in this game. You might of noticed something in this game compared to the first one.
In DL1, each meter, each square of the map was placed and designed by hand. In DL2 it's not the case. And the amount of loot out of reach for the player just proves my point. Not that I have anything to prove, this was confirmed by a data miner itself. They used an automated software to fill up for their mess. Interiors are all the same and loot always spawns on the same exact locations (containers included).

Theres actually ALOT of crystals over there covered in corrosion, as we played 4 man coop we opened all of them, even the ones VERY far away, first one respawns nearby once opened it, and the others can go pick it up but most likely die in the process but also respawn nearby.

The corrosion is a chemical, those crystals are the result of that corrosion

There's more of these in "impossible places", I'm pretty sure they just kinda randomly generated some of these around those radioactive areas, making them a few of them unreachable.

What if later on in a DLC you would be able to travel trough these THV limits, either by gaining some infected ability, a gas mask, anything that could explain the vague appearance of elyseum and this ONE core, wich I don't believe to be there just for some detail.

not sure if either of you have finished the story, but you get a med that allows this. Though "limited" in quantity that can be produced in the "story" im sure DLC will add more to this. "Veronika" questline.. very start of the end of the game.
They should add a hazmat suit.. where u have to find all the separate clothes items in hidden locations and once u put it on it increases the timer
I imagine there will be future DLC where the chemical areas are just cleared out, theres such a huge area around the main map n stuff even outside the main map that its not gonna make much sense to have that much space and nothing to fill it with eventually
Me and my friend got to that during the blue moon event all we got was a green crystal
Yeah man had some weak loot! They should have put something better inside! There are still a few more outside the map as well that I found, only one had an orange crystal lol
Use an inhibitor inhaler as you run to the crystal
You can also find them at the observatory
At the start of you climbing the panels, you can actually go up it by switching your forward momentum every time you jump
I think this is just for lore purposes, they say the chemicals made the crystals so it makes sense that there's really concentrated ones that grew in the radius of villedor where large swaths of chemicals have been for over a decade.
I was able to open and get the crystal. You just need to level up your inhibitors to give yourself more time. I had 15min 30sec of time and got it with no problems. There are a few on the broken overpass right near there too.

when you gather all emeralds you will be able to go super sonic
I tried reading through comments to see if anyone knew this but any slanted tile that makes u slide down. You can easily climb up without the broom. The trick is to jump and using the grappling hook. Soon as the grappling hook locks in jump again and repeat. Takes a little while to get the hang of but I promise once u have it down packed . You’ll be a beast with it. I use it also to get to certain taller buildings . U can do it from the ground up if done correctly.

Actually there's a ton of these surrounded by chemicals all over the game. Like one that holds a white crystal core at the end of the game when you're on the bridge. I think they're surrounded like that cuz crystal cores are worth a couple hundred to a couple thousand coins each.

I imagine it was some system that randomly allocates these crystals. I've found some in nonsensical places. Also be an indication that these toxic areas will become passable in the future (as well as the sunken city

The sunken city is allready passable by swimming or with a story Line that clears all the water by opening the dam.

I just get all the inhibitors to make my immunity last longer and I successfully grabbed it
it's possible to get it. get on top of that small building next to it, take a regen booster + toughness booster (gives u an extra second when out of immunity), make a jump that u land right on top of it and u'll have just enough time to open it and run out of the chemicals and quickly throw a uv or use a immunity booster, then repeat to collect the crystal.
done it multiple times, there are several similar locations with crystals that are hard to reach but always have a bus or small cabin nearby to make the jump, they mostly give a blue or better crystal, rarely green or white.

There is also another one by the observatory which is actually possible to open with the blockers you get in the mission

I strongly believe they the developers laid the corrosion out after the game was development as its just a damaged added area in a sense. I say this because after you beat the game. The Cock easter egg mission will ask you to go to the dam area and find a part to a ship. If you didnt clear the water the corrosion will either kill you or their is a invisible barrier that blocks you from moving further. I believe it was added after the later bombs fall in the game. I think they added more chemical for effects for didnt think about its placement in the map.

Bro does anyone know how to fix the sliding bug? My character has no animation when walking forward and everytime i load up the DL2, it says check integrity of game files but i have done that already plent of times and it says their fine. Its annoying asf because i can’t run. If anyone has a solution please help out

there is tons of those all over the map tho from one of Barneys missions
I recon you could get it solo if you had more inhibitors under your belt
so the crystals are a byproduct of the THV chemicals. so it would make sense for them to put some in unreachable spots. now this is just a pretty basic thing imo. there is a different building in the game that is locked from the inside and there is no way in it. its in old villedor by a forsaken store by the chemicals if im not mistaken

You could've just used an immunity booster when you entered
the immunity boosters dont reduce the immunity drain speed, they only give you immunity back after a short animation of using the booster but even so you wouldnt have time to get out on time once you break it unless you've found and used all inhibitors for maximum immunity duration
@@Callisto1812 I understand that it doesn't reduce drain speed but thank you for enlightening me to the fact that it wouldn't work too well out In that area. I guess it only works well on Dark Zone THV chemicals, or at least that's where I use it.
There's a mod which makes sure can break it with one hit..
When i play DL2 back then when it launch, actually you can collect them all even tho it far away coz back then you can tank this THV corrosion as long as your uv meter reach. But it been patch coz techland don't want go out of map i guess.

I opened it during the mission you go to the plant, I spent 4 minutes doing it and the rock didn’t respawn when I broke it.

Just get max inhibitor Immunity. I got max inhibitors and can now easily wonder about these places for 15 seconds no problem along with my huge health bar allowing me to go even further.
You can get there with no broom, just dont leave the bridge, and you come here. Obviously you supposed to slide down panels after that, that's why they here.

its may be just a bug, they might have never intended to have the core crystal placed there but during development, someone put it there by accident within the game code.

It isnt that hard to get if you jump towards it from teh shed, thats what i did in my first play through, when i was on the quest of going through this area. It was jsut crystal core that you can sell, nothign special, I dint die while getting it tho. Wish i had grapple hook or glider back then tho

Yeah it seems like they all have a random chance to be different rarity. I opened one and got a orange crystal, but usually they just give us really weak level crystals that barely sell for anything sadly.

Yo- you know you can open it right? New game plus inhibitors make it easy and even without then you can still open it. Its a tease, only gave me a white crystal which is like 100 of the in game currency. Its literally there just to give you blue balls lol
