    Should I do this everyday when I use my saw first thing in the morning or just one time and I'm done doing it forever

      I would do it once as it's auto adjustment this is after a service or after served

    RB I am buying this saw next week. I live at 30’ elevation. I work at 2000’ and on occasion at 6000’ feet. Should I recalibrate when changing elevations? I always am tuning my current saws.

      I'm guessing NOT. from the stihl manual... 17.1 STIHL M-Tronic Engine Management SystemThe STIHL M-Tronic engine management system electronically controls the ignition timing and fuel metering in any operating condition, factoring in altitude and fuel quality. This system provides optimum performance, whether you are just starting to work or resuming after a break.

    I just bought a 462. And it running weird, it revs like a bat out of hell on idle. I check there is no air leak.

    How often should you calibrate?

    • @Redbull661
      @Redbull661  Před 5 lety

      only when your having issues, make a change to the saw...such as modding the muffler or coil change or solenoid change, stuff like that. Maybe a major change in elevation. I am looking into that. Another guy asked that and I just don't have to deal with that issue so I don't know.

      on elevation - sounds like you don't need to - From stihl manual - 17.1 STIHL M-Tronic Engine Management SystemThe STIHL M-Tronic engine management system electronically controls the ignition timing and fuel metering in any operating condition, factoring in altitude and fuel quality. I like to calibrate mine at the start of each day of work so to speak. That seems to work fine for me. I had to actually explain this procedure to my local Stihl dealer as I think he didn’t do the training on the updated mtronic calibration and was advising people the old way of doing for 661s etc.

    Which is better to buy Ms 462? Or buy MS 462 C-M?
