- This video is a layout update on the progress on my H.O. scale layout. In the past several months I have been focusing on scenery/landscaping. The first half of the video is the update and a mini operating session is the second half of the video. Enjoy!
I like the way you have put this together. It gives the illusion of being a lot bigger than it really is. Excellent use of space!
Love the details on the old un-maintained tracks! Looking good!
It is very nice to see a smaller layout for a change instead of the multi-deck acre sized ones so often on the model railroading press. You are doing a lot of good work with the space available and making a lot of interesting scenes. On using the corn meal, watch out for attracting critters of some sort to the layout. They often are attracted to especially anything edible.
Really neat little layout you got there. Looks like a pleasure to build and operate.
Lots of great details (such has the 2 cars in the ditch) scenery, tracks are all very nicely done. Great video
Very impressive, love the details and how it fits in a small corner. Can’t wait to see the next update.
nice IC layout! You've done well with the space and setting. Just proves you can have an ops oriented layout in a roundy-round template. One thing you may consider is to subdue the brightness of the grade crossing lights that face the backdrop. Their flash of color on the wall is quite noticable. Cheers, and looking forward to future updates.
Looks great! Your layout inspired me to get back into railroading. I am now in-between layouts once the shop is complete the 2nd layout can start. Thank you for what you have done..
You made an impressive scene with that little space!
THANK YOU SHARING VIEDO THAT GOT DETAIL ON LAYOUT
Beautifully detailed layout! I particularly like the forced perspective of the roadway that runs straight into the backdrop. Nice touch!
Hey I like your HO size layout of the ICG layout it really looks nice and good luck to you when you to start adding more to your layout and we can all use some good luck in building or Adding to your layout I know its HO sized but its good
I though your layout was a lot bigger than what it is. I was surprised when I seen the thumbnail picture for this video and how small it actually is. Your other videos are done so good that it seems so much bigger. That's really cool how you've filmed to make it appear much larger than it is. The grain elevator siding looks great. Scenery looks great and you've got an awesome layout overall. Stay well. -Wil 👍
Really nice update....the variety of scenes and details make your layout seem larger than it is...a lot to learn from this RR
Always enjoyed this simple, small layout!
I enjoy watching your layout progress. Gerat looking work!
Fantastic layout well done cheers from Bruce.blenheim south island new Zealand
Very nice layout!! Nice looking track work on the grain elevator siding.
I‘m a big friend of the GM&O, the FRISCO, the Illinois Central and of your Layout too. Thumbs up!
Thx for sharing it.
Sorry about my english. It’s a little bit ‚rusty‘…

Very satisfying. Cathartic even.
I sure like the Chicago Central Diesel! Nice!🙂
Nicely done layout. Thanks for sharing.
nice update.. the details show a lot of thought has gone into your plan.
Nice job especially on diesel house. I have a similar Walthers diesel shop to build ... but haven't started yet. Great details added to your layout!!
Great model railroad!
Very nice I have not started my layout and space is a problem for me too.thank you for sharing your layout it shows me you can have a great set up even with little space
Excellent details.......really liking the layout 👍
Awesome layout and rolling stock :)
I like your Corn meal idea.

Very Well Done looks Awsome.
Awesome done, thanks for sharing
I love this. Thank you for sharing.
Nice job 👍 really like your layout .
Any new updates for 2023? I have used your ideas for inspiration.
I would love to see an update on your awesome work.
Nice job on this layout !!!!
Great vid love the attention to detail. Doing my IC layout in N scale and it’s so hard to get DCC locomotives.
I know, n scale ICG is tough. Atlas recently released some GP35 in orange/white ICG (DCC and sound) that you might be able to find. Athearn released some n scale SD70s in the black “Death Star” scheme a few years ago. A few are out there, be persistent!
Damn looks amazing! Nice work! I just need to get my layout worked on lol
Im glad your back! Good vid...thanks
LOOKING GOOD!!!
I now this video is a few years old but wondering what material your using for the spilt grain on the tracks?
Plain cornmeal that you eat :) I secured it with thinned Elmer's glue. Looks real!
Hi I'm Jerry how do your scenery on your layout?in your video's you don't explain how you apply the scenery on your layout.
I really like your layout, what is the overall size of it? I grew up along the IC in Centralia Illinois, this brings back some memories!
What are you using your Motorman for? I saw it in your fascia to the right of the weigh station, but you did not talk about it.
You have a keen eye. It is not a Motorman, it is an Iowa Scaled Engineering fast clock. I have had it for several years. IA Scaled stopped producing them (I believe I purchased the last one!). They built the Motorman on the same design platform.
@@ck7813 I have two motorman running an HO and N scale shuttle track behind me. So I spotted it right away. I got a Logic Rails fast clock since it is LocoNet compatible. Although the DT602D also has a fastclock, so...
Nice layout Else wise.
It's a great layout, it's really nice.
Great Work.
Very nice railroad in a limited space. IC was my favorite railroad growing up and I later modeled it in the early 80's. Black locomotives with the green diamond. GP-35's IIRC. What are those locomotives on your railroad? GP-20's?
The locomotives used in this operating session are Intermountain GP10s. I have a variety of first and second generation diesels. I have GP9s, 10s, 18s, 38-2s, F3A, SD40-2s, SW7 and a few GM&O GP35s.
Molto interessante piccolo ma molto ricco di particolari che lo rendono molto realistico effetto celo molto bello si potrebbe pensare ad un temporale congratulazioni
Nice layout. This very close to he layout I want to make as I have limited space. Mine will be set in the Sierra foothills in the period between 1958 to the early 60's, though some pieces and engines may not all be perfect period pieces. Hey it's my railroad! The very, very small town will be called "Graysonville" after a dear pet Maine Coon cat of the same basic name. He was just "Grayson". What did you use for the foundation of your hills - they look very good.
Thanks, Brian, I just use wood shims from a home improvement store. They are cheap (less than $5) and you can cut the for whatever length of transition you need.
Nice layout🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂💯💯
Hello I like your layout I want to build something similar but I am wondering which curved turnout you used for it?
Walthers #8 curved LH turnout.
Do you live in or near Homewood or Hazel Crest? Or how far down Rte. 1 is this. Looks like Peotone or Watseka.
Nope, I live in Iowa. The layout is technically a freelance layout, it doesn't represent an actual town, per se, but it pretty much could be any small town in Iowa or Illinois back in the 80s.
How come you don't uesd a caboose?I I used a caboose on my layout .
are all your trains dcc sound?
This is very nice model train layout u should make it way bigger
Nice.
Looks 👍
What are the dimensions of your layout?
Where are you at in Iowa I'm here in Iowa
It homicidal layout 😅when growth up and finally turn 50 I want be like u
No Layout is Never done In Any Gauge.
circus peanut shaped layout
You know this motherfucker looks real nice for a small fun layout
