Your imgur brought me here. I enjoyed this quite a lot. It looks fantastic in this video and the pic on imgur is really beautiful. Great job 👏 👍
Thank you!

Once you have moss you are the boss.
When you have moss you are never getting a loss.
1 Yr Ago: Relaxing, No Commentary, Eternal Terrarium
Now: “Bob Died With Blue Balls”
Just mute than it is back to relaxing 🤣
This is the first I have witness and done in such a simple yet very eco-friendly way.. Love it.
Let me know what you think about this ecosystem! If you have any question feel free to ask. I put a lot of work into this so if you could subscribe or leave a like it would help me a lot! If you could comment it would help for the youtube algoritm ;)

I just got my hands on a gaint jar. Now, the time has come to build my very own terrarium hehehe :)
Marvellous and shown to us in a simple and very eco-friendly way. Thanks.
No problem! Glad you enjoyed it
Hey man, this is the first video like this I have seen. I love it. Thank you so much for the great video. I plan on making one myself. It looks amazing.
Thank you ! Let me know if you have questions if your are making one!
@@HomemadeEcosystems thank you so much. I subscribed after seeing the first one. I plan on making one jn about 6 weeks or so. I eed to collect some things from the countryside. Theres a place near me thats a wildlife preserve and I have to ask the local government if I can first. But considering I plan on doing long term construction with this they should be cool. Can you tell me what tools you used un making it? Likw outside of the vid of cou
@@cedric3973 Thank you! Not much tools needed, you just need a jar, some small stones/pebbles for the first layer and the soil and plants and moss. I just put them in by hand. A plant spray you can use to spray some water in the jar before closing it could come in handy. You might need a small shovel to get the soil but that is about it. Good luck!
@@HomemadeEcosystems thank you so much, I have been enjoying the content and I will let you know how it goes. Theres a certain flower in the area I want to preserve and this would be fantastic for it. I'll keep you updated. I put in my request last week for it so hope I get a fast reply. Also rhanks for the reply and input. My friend has a very large pickling jar thats about 8 litera in size I think would be perfect. Was youra about 3 liters or so in size?
@@cedric3973 I think mine is about 5 liters. Glad you enjoy the content!
First time viewer with a million questions. What sort of upkeep does this need? Are there any plants or animals that you have to avoid? How many isopods do you need and how do you ensure they're not too closely related? How much sunlight does this need? Which video of yours that I haven't watched (yet) has the answers?
Hi, welcome! This does not need upkeep, I made this and haven't done anything since.
The best plants are plants that love a moist environment but if you put a plant that doesn't like a terrarium it will just die doesn't really matter.
You can put in a few isopods. They can be related that is not a problem.
These things require a lot of sunlight but not direct sunlight because they overheat easily so I would place them on a window sill out of direct sunlight.
This video answers some questions: czcams.com/video/UMrPImYGxfo/video.html but not all.
I also recommend other channels like worcesters terrariums and jartopia for more tips.
Looks amazing! Well done ;)
Thank you!
Can you please show sealing the jars?
I came here from Imgur
Bob is life
You must keep it under artificial light? Won't sunlight destroy it?
Not if it isn't direct sunlight
Can you make one out of a big aquarium and seal it closed?
Yes that is possible ! I plan on making one like that in the future
it's not sealed at all. it's just some stuff in a vase. the plastic is completely permeable to gasses.
I'm going to try to close it of with cork. The first two - three weeks it is better to not close it of completely because most mold form in that time period and that way you can adjust the moisture level.
Don't you spray water in it when you make it. Btw great job keep it up & share with us.
I didn't spray water in this one because the soil was already very wet. But if the soil is dry it is indeed better to spray some water in it before closure! Thank you! I'm working on a new video about a tropical terrarium ;)
Is water not required
Yes it is but in closed systems the water recycles so you don't need a lot
What happens if you send it to the earth's orbit ?
It would die
Uhh... Gametophytes?
Jep, correct!
@@HomemadeEcosystems yaaay! Can I have my bonus points now?
@@blizzardkiehn2508 you can name the slug in my first ecosystem ;)
@@HomemadeEcosystems I'm really tempted to say "Golden Retriever," but let's go with Sydney the Slug.
@@blizzardkiehn2508 sydney the slug it is ! 😄
Be careful the cruelty to animals police might have an opinion they might use as justification to attach your life.. lmfao. be afraid be very afraid. kmt
I'm not putting any large animals in there.. there are only a few insects that naturally occur in the soil and don't have a natural habitat that is much bigger than this jar so I think i'm good 😅
