Road the Party Wave+ 157 for a week heliboarding in Alaska's Chugach Mtn Range last year. All fresh POW big mountain terrain. Was totally stoked on it. The volume on that board really lent itself to an extended heli trip. I was surprised at how well my legs held up crushing 100,000+ vert ft of fresh POW and I attribute much of that to the board. I didn't do a whole lot of workout prep in advance of the trip. It's a great POW board, though I probably won't bring it resort riding anytime soon.

Thank you GG. I love this kind of videos. I enjoyed last year camel 2, surfer, and party wave (?) review in different conditions. Well I have the Thunder (2023) (not thunder bolt) and I think I will never change. What a beast of a board! Gnarly in every conditions and terrains I met. Maybe you should try it one day. cheers
The Surfer is a misunderstood board, clearly a pow weapon And surprisingly capable and fun in any conditions plus carves like a beast with such a long effective edge and stiff tuning forks at the tail. I can't get enough of this thing! It rides switch fine, I just can't look down when switch, gives me angst. This is my fifth year on it and all my other boards end up resting patiently in the back of the truck or napping at home. I wish they would make the LTD version again because of the faster base and it's slightly stiffer, plus a longer one(169) for those rare moments when you need to leave the planet for a bit. I've been riding since the original snurfer, I should give the potty platter a go

They do make the LTD Surfer again, and you can still find the old (orange) version online.
Hey G.G., thanks for taking the time to do this for us. I appreciate it more than I can express here. Tyler Chorlton was cool enough to take some time to chat with me about my PW+ before I bought it in 2022 and that really helped me become a PW guy. I love it, been everywhere with it. I am going to buy another PW for sure, but just want to get tips before I choose which one. My question is: Whats the biggest takeaway from the change in this year's tail design? Also one other small question, why the 157 over the 154? I'm 6'3", 175lbs and I ride the 154. Thanks x10 in advance.

I just got a '22 151 PW+ I'm size 11 boot and used to stiff boards. I have a thunderbolt and love it, so I wanted to get a wider more floaty board for pow but that can also handle the icy sections to get to the fun. Rode it on shitty Icy conditions and held good.
I love my orca on pow but it holds no edge on icy sections.
Powgoda is great in pow as well but havent gotten used to it yet on non-pow.
Hell ya stoked to hear that! the PW+ is a good one to have in the quiver for those firmer days definitely. That was my review of it. Held much better in very icy terrain
Dude so glad you used the Surfer in that pow. The surfer is such an intriguing board to me, I’d totally go and buy it if it wasn’t like $900😂, glad to see someone use it tho.
It really is such an insane board! They’re so expensive cause they make them in low quantity and the mold for them is so $$$. Definitely a rad special one but maybe an eBay come up?!

I have a 13 boot and the 156W (27.5 waist) TwinPig has been my daily for the past two seasons. I had a chance to demo last years party wave in a 154 (28 waist) and I really enjoyed it. Lighter and more poppy, equally as pressable. Turn offs were the side cut being a bit too big for my taste and I actually didn’t care for the 3-D nose. I’d like to get a month on one and see if I could make it work. Thanks for your insight! 🤍
Haven’t rode the TwinPig but I did come from riding the WarPig before I got in the party wave. I would say it’s a bit more of a loose surfy feel. If you want it to ride more similar to the warpig I would get the + version.

How tall are you how much do you weight? Just for the reference for 154 party wave
@@pikkurekku 6’2” 200lbs I could go either way on the PW 157 or 154. 157 would probably work a bit better. Still prefer the TwinPig tho
I had the party wave plus from 2022 with the small fish tail was 151 size, I have 9 size boots , 70kg and a had great fun on this thing especially on powder(for those out there think this board is sluggish they probably got a wrong size or they don’t know how to ride, this is not your normal board, it’s a party board so you need to ride like it) and for what I saw in comparison from this year the new one is a bit narrower and also has the complete tail, sounds like an improvement I would like to have one, maybe next year 🙃 have a few clips with this board go check it out to have an idea of how fun party waves are ✌️

i wish the party wave + could be tiny bit more stiffer and high camber instead. I can't afford a donek. This one is the closest spec I can find on market. I want a Short and fat board with high side cut radius
Even as a smaller foot rider (sz 8) I absolutely love the Party Wave. Got it as a pow board but I haven’t picked up my Evil twin since…and it’s been 3 seasons 😂 This board is so surfy and you can quite literally lay down carves. Id love to try out the new tail but is it vastly different? Anyways, Thanks GG love your content!
It’s not vastly different but I do think there are some improvements where this is the first time I really enjoy the normal party wave over the +. Specifically in the flex pattern

Hi :) Do you have a comparison with LibTech Orca? I am 185cm / 83kg and riding Orca 153 which is great board for me but now I am looking for something new (but similar).
I have not tried the lib tech orca personally. I think a the party wave is similar but the orca would have it beat for switch riding most likely. What size foot do you have?

Got the Goliath + and it’s too much board for the local spots. Definitely feels much more at home in gnarlier terrain.
Personally just not a fan of the twin board look but it’s soley in my head haha. I rode it one run at Jackson and was impressed but riding a new one that’s more of a directional twin now

Also for you smaller than 11 or 12 boot riders, the Party Wave will feel like a total slug. Even if you size down as much as possible. Don't be fooled.

Yeah this is very true! It’s a big footed board. I’m not sure the waist width on the smaller sizes but I’m referring to the 157.
It is a lot of board tho he is right if your foot is like a 7-9 for instance it could be a lot
Been riding the 151 PW+ throughout this season and last. Size 10.5 boot. I'd agree. It's a bit of a pig in certain conditions. Love it in the soft stuff though. More open terrain pow, slush carving. The 3BT helps with turn initiation but it's not the greatest in tight trees. For me, the PW is best in spring conditions.
This is a horrible comparison or any info in general about all three of these boards😂

Pretty basic:
You want to hit park jumps: PartyWave+
You want to have fun: PartyWave
You can afford an extra board: Surfer

@@GimbalGod so the Party Wave Plus is only good for park jumps and some fun? No powder benefits? Nothing about 3BT? Nothing about the sidecut? Which is rather aggressive for such a "fun" board. Is it a Volume shifted board? What's that? Does that have pros or cons? Is it a quiver killer or just for park jumps and fun? I'd like to be educated since you know what you're talking about.
