man when shelby was out i was so happy, i know she needs to still tell her fam but this ship is amazing. especially since toni is calm afterwards not so passionate which i think is a good thing. i love these two
I think with Regan she didn’t really understand why Toni had such a short temper and it was bc of her upbringing so when Toni ACCIDENTALLY hit her when trying to hit the other guy she broke up with her bc she didn’t understand how to control that part of Toni. But with Shelby they both have demons and they understand that about each other so they feel more comfortable with each other and in such a short amount of time built trust bc they understand each other. Shelby understood why Toni had a short temper and Toni understood why Shelby was so homophobic bc of her family. So when you both have problems I think you understand each other more and you get where the person is coming from so that’s why they worked so well but Toni and Regan didn’t bc Regan didn’t get why Toni had a short temper.

I love how worried Toni becomes when she realizes that Shelby isn’t just a you know that regular closeted person, but instead very mentally unstable about her sexuality and extremely internally homophobic and I think Toni may realize that something traumatic may have happened to Shelby about her sexuality or something like that, which is why she acts so calm after they wake up together. You know after Shelby’s meltdown.

I’ve never seen a happier coupled when Shelby came out- and the way she did it… The horrifying part tho is thinking how she has to go back home, closeted once again, not able to be her true self.
