The Indonesians have only themselves to blame. They know it’s wrong to have orangutan as pet but still they do it until they got caught.
Poor Kotap. I can't even imagine what this baby went through. So glad he/she was rescued.
This brought tears to my eyes, you could see the moment it clicked that he was being rescued. 😪
Two years alone and in darkness...how awful, absolutely terrifying....I watch and weep...thanks to all the stars there are people on the ground who can do rescues and rehabilitations....this baby needs so much loving care now!...Thank you!! and please educate the ppl...wildlife belongs in nature....

Yes, I always think about it too, and these thoughts make it very scary. Poor animals, why do they suffer at the hands of knackers, why does the state not punish these people for their cruelty!

I watched an orangutan at a zoo for a few minutes once, lots of people walking by and it just sat on the floor looking sad, it was drawing lines in the dirt to keep a few ants sort of fenced in. It ended up looking at me so I put my hand on the glass to it's cage, it actually came over and put its hand where mine was. Absolutely disgusting to think these animals are even kept in captivity at all, let alone a little cage like this. I get these people are poor and their first concern is probably survival and they don't care at all about emotional development or well being... but how can you not realize it's disgusting to keep an animal this smart in a cage for no reason at all?
Many years ago in front of an Orangutan's place and watching the sadness and "giving up" feeling I stopped going to zoos as I did circus' with the animals made to do what is not natural to them all for human's enjoyment. With education more people understand. I agree with your thoughts on the people and their poverty - while still, the unawareness of the animals needs is difficult to accept. Still, more awareness is happening.
There is a price to freedom. Keeping the orangutan in that wooden cage is better than letting it loose in the wild. It has no survival skills growing up with humans. It is dependent on them to feed it. There are poachers out there who would sell these animals for a small fortune. These are not disgusting people.
Some are kept in zoos because they are endangered and it the best way to breed them and grow the population

The disconnect in the ornagutans face when they opened the cage and tried to get him out says it all. He suffered so long in the cage that his mind accepted 'Living' IN the cage. Thank you for rescuing him from his tormented life and giving him a freed life.
How can those people not know that they are doing something wrong!? You coudn't think that any animal would be healthy there. I don't understand why they would think they can keep an animal like that. I hope that he lives a better life from now on.
I bet if you put these people in a small cage in the heat for 6 months they will know how it feels. Judgement is coming its Reaping time. People know right from wrong but choose wrong. Thank God for Recording Angels.

These are not evil people, these are poor people living in poor conditions. Try to learn the whole picture before try to get on your high horses and judge other people. The orangutan lived with them since it was a baby. It is dependent on them to feed the creature. Do you expect them to just release the animal as it grew older? It needs a mother to teach it proper survival skills. These people are not stupid, they just dont have the proper access to knowledge unlike you people. They feed the orangutan as well as they could. It hasnt died in their care during the years it has lived with the family has it? If they were greedy, they would have sold it in the black market. Indonesia has so many island and these organisation cant reach to these animals as quickly as they could. Imagine having an education and better living conditions than these people and yet has less humanity than the people who tried their best to take care of an orangutan by themselves. Shame on you people
What about orangutans kept in the Zoo's?if people keeping these animals as pets is illegal than undoubtedly keeping under confinement in Zoo's is also illegal.Rescuing only pets is actually snatching.Don't just point your fingers to poor people only.Hypocrite!!!

I find it disgusting....they have no issue having 10 kids while they lock this small intelligent animal up in a cage without any windows and torture him/her for two years. Thank god there are people that can go into these areas to help this primates from all of this suffering......

I'm sick of hearing "they don't know any better" sure they do,the whole crowd standing with glaket smiles,not one had a look of sympathy/compassion,you don't have to be an expert on animals to see this is just wrong,a tiny,dark cage with nothing but a plastic bottle to amuse himself & i bet all the kids tormented him,his reaction showed he's not been treated kindly,thank god for the likes of IAR

The first time i went to Kalimantan i saw a cage that a woman was being kept in. She had a baby and was running off into the jungle all the time so they caged her and called in the sharman. I was there with my wife for perhaps night 3 of the healing. Interesting to see. After a second trip to the area a year latter and seeing an Orangutan that had been killed among other things my view of the people in this region is shall we say NOT high. This was the upper Kadang Kepala and the lady was west of Melak. This video in my opinion would be totally normal . They dont think the way we do.

@@timphoto83ec so pappy was right, the main population. Sure, in Russia you have people that worship trees but the majority of the people are Orthodox , or how Italy is Catholic, there’s exceptions everywhere but that doesn’t make the majority

There are several channels dedicated to saving these animals, all from different organizations. I’ve heard each of them say they have many many apes. Wow! This is such an issue that this many groups have so many! Blows your mind!

Yes anger is there but deeper is compassion, filling that void with love is more powerful. Slowly people are seeing that its more rewarding to care for the wildlife on this planet, vs not. How we spend (ie palm oil awareness), volunteer, etc... i really hate to be preachy - i have only started.
i can’t stop thinking about those very intelligent peaceful beings living and loving families harmonious lives like something out of dream. Its perfection more valuable then any work of art. Its good to show these stories - thats how to convey this. Thank you for that.

The Columbus Zoo, in OH USA is one of the best in the world and their Organatangs can use ipads. They are very intelligent beings. Sad they have to be in a Zoo but so many in the wild have their habitat cut down, the adults are hunted for meat, and the babies end up like this little guy.

Watching this video is so sad looking into the eyes of this baby orangutan you can see how traumatized he is being locked up in a wooden box in the jungle which is extremely hot by the way for two years how can these people think that that is OK??? It makes me sick how people can be so ignorant!!! I am just so glad that the baby orangutan is out of there now and is in a safe environment where it can grow emotionally.
