The degassing chamber on my Activa v6 fell apart the same way. Might be worth getting a stainless one for the Tractiva as well

Catching up on where I left off and great to hear the SM is now a British citizen. In regards to Merch I am going to have to get a BX mug from the BX40 and I would happily wear a up N Down tee shirt and have a sticker on the window of my little Cactus.

We did the Amalfi coast on our honeymoon in a 2cv but we were on a budget so an SM would of been a touch thirsty 😁. We were also there in August so was quite busy with Italian nutters 😂

Don't sell the C6 if you can avoid it! As a very casual car fan, I discovered your channel purely by accident (all praise the YT algorithm etc.) and other than the #PassThePicasso videos which I got through, I then watched the C6 ones. A crazy amount of work put in and I totally get the love/hate relationship with it, but just wow, what a beautiful car. There really is nothing like it. It looks retro and futuristic and timeless... all at the same time. I imagine that when you're not worrying about its reliability you sit in it and realise what a beautiful thing it is.
Oh and I've been watching the Professor Tomato ones too. Good lord what a lot of work. But it's nice seeing someone put that much care and effort into keeping an a car going.

Have considered a few of the models in your video as a new daily driver, especially a C6.. I'd kinda like one but am not surprised they don't sell.. my new DD vintage 7 series is a more sane choice in a few ways 😮 ..our family friend mechanic frowned somewhat when I mentioned the more ordinary C5.

Breaking this into two parts, could not beleive the price for a bit of Plastic from a citroen place, i was looking at a engine cover for my Cactus and thought £32 seemed reasonable, but that bit of plastix for a three figure price!

An interesting fleet update l pleased that you have a couple of solutions to Hildas gearbox issues the C6 when you showed that plastic fantastic broken part out of the cooling system and you found a metal replacement for it and plastic coolant parts aren't a great idea well out 2021 Suzuki Beleno GLX has a metal thermostat housing also that TVR customer car with the Buick V6 is it the 3.8 litre engine because if it is Holden used it in there Comodore and there is a you tuber mechanic in the USA who lov6es those motors he mentioned as reliable as a Honda engine a very good engine there are plenty of old Comodores driving around with that engine also today l saw a Citreon DS station wagon it was a bit rough but driving along l am a car spotter

It's actually a Vauxhall colour (Carabic blue) but it's very similar to the original (Aquarius met.)

The C6 indicator will probably need a new bulb holder, I just had one of my indicators wet and turns out that the bulb holder plastics are wack and they have been all sold out. Thankfully Chevronics are re-manufacturing those and they should be available soon from them

Perhaps some one at the DVLA thought that Middlesbrough was suitable given the nickname for locals is Smoggies so obviously an SM would be a denizen of said place. A theory, even if it's not the real reason.
Looks like evanta motor has dissolved. Maybe they had a car rotisserie. No idea where they were based but somewhere in the UK.
I think Peugeot did an Orange version of those side repeaters on very early 206's.

So, that was a surprise seeing an SM sitting there. But you should definitely break down on your way to the Amalfi coast, so that when the roadside repair mechanic comes along, half the age of the car, you can video their face as they open the bonnet.
Is it easy to get a jigsaw as merch? Under the bonnet in its present state would be a good image, and people could share the experience of putting it together.
Can you imagine a trickier jigsaw than under the bonnet of an SM?!

Ther are orange 206 side repeaters and they are very simular to those on the tvr.
I'd quite like to see merch with some of your quotes on. Obviously "Did I mention I have an SM?" or even a cartoonised version of yourself doing shenanigans like gazing disdainfully at a silver C5 Estate, for example because, even though I don't think you'd admit it, but your physical humour is perhaps the strongest aspect your channel has compared to the other automotive channels, not forgetting your wit & wordplay so I bet there's loads of examples from previous videos that can be made into merch

CZcamsrs keep quiet about it, but I've always been curious about the kind/scale of money/work merch generates. It looks like some make good business and are working a lot running the store and selling sometimes surprising amounts of stuff.

I don't know if it will, really. DS' are more popular than SMs are, and the Clement repair vids have fallen off a cliff. It's not a big problem as I'm doing them anyway, but YT is weird.

Do you think that it didn't boil over, because it's waterless, meant that it found the weekest part , being the plastic joint.if it had been water i/based, it wouldn't have broken it?
No, I think if it was water-based it would have blown it open much earlier as the system would have been under pressure, and that when it did fail and the coolant level ran too low, I didn't do any damage as the remaining coolant could handle the job rather than boiling up and causing a bigger problem. In short = waterless potentially saved the engine.

I had a C-Max as a company car - worst 3 years of my motoring life. Brand new yet the most unreliable car I have ever had - and bear in mind my first car as an Avenger bought for £100 at auction and towed home.......
So you have an old diesel van, that also has a cat in it, and you don't show that! I think you've missed some of the basic concepts of the internet. 😉
