Engine won't start? Engine loses power? Fuel leaks? Disassemble the High Pressure pump.

- Hello guys! Fuel pressure malfunctions in common rail systems!? It's time to test that pump, in case this one was really tired. A complete kit of gaskets and even a shaft had to be taken away. However it has done 300,000 kms and 22 years, it is now ready for so much more for sure! As you can see, the brand made the system in such a way that it is not necessary to remove the timing belt, thus saving a lot of labor time and also avoiding out of synchronism.
This system fits all JTD, Mjet, JTDm, JTDm2 engines, for 1.6, 1.9 (8v and 16v), 2.0 and 2.4 (10v and 20v). In the case of the Stelvio and Giulia I suspect they must be identical as well.

I wanted to ask about the right drive shaft on my diesel 156. It has about 230bhp and I’m running the original drive shafts still on it. I went to take a look at that 159 2.2 JTS, and it is the best example I have seen. There must be some hidden issues for sure, but never the less, I am buying it tomorrow (5.300 Еur). :D

Maybe he can do that with a broken/bad pump. No harm in that.

Thanks for the answer. I have a problem with P0091&P0092 fault codes. I have already replaced the regulator and the sensor. Does it mean that the fuel pump is actually the reason of these codes, or is there anything else I could check? Thanks in advance!

Hello. I have never seen one of those here in Portugal, and for that never worked on one.
But the codes are universal, that is a code for Oxygen sensor. Make sure the spark plugs are good and the engine timmed. If it's all good, check the cat converter and sensors

I need help because i dont know what to do, my car has a high fuel consumption. I have a fiat bravo 1.9 16v diesel 150hp and avg fuel consumption is 6.8-8.3. Even a w203 merc 220cdi has it lower 6.2. Hello. Thanks for watching! Be very careful with the intake pipes and tubes. Check out the tube that goes between the air meter and the turbo .
Also perform a diagnosis to see air quantity and pressure.
This is likel caused by excessive injector backflow!

I recently changed my pump on my 147 and i cant get the diesel to reach the injectors
Hello. Do not try to open the pipes to get the air out. Just prime the system with the car key. Do you hear the bubbles?
@@alfaromeonoproblem yes I could hear the bubbles in my tank, but there is no diesel coming out of the pump at all, I'm trying to find what the issue is,might be that the pump was used and it came from a fused engine, but it should have been in working condition, also I primed a lot, could a discharged battery be the issue? It doesn't spin the engine as fast as a good battery does but with the old defective pump it used to start at least

Hi,i have problem with P0090. My car shuts down every time when step on throtle. But i tuned my 1.9 jtdm 120hp 8v its around 200+hp now. I want to raise pressure to 1800 bars. I put r80 pump from 2.4 alfa and rail sensor is 2000 bars. Everthing is setup nice on ECU map and problem is next... if i put 1700bars pressure car runs ok no problems but if put 1800 bars car is shut down around 1770 bars at 3700rpm and my fuel quantity at 75mg ( desired is 100mg). Duration map is with no smoke (we try with longer duration with alot of smoke at 1700 bars works fine... only when put 1800 bars cars shut down). I try another r80 pump same problem. Do you have some clue what can be? I also replase fule filter and 2 injector (276) corrections is under 1 (around 0.7).

Hello. Yes, absolutely an internal issue with it. Send it to be tested and repaired. Do not use a used one
Did you get it repaired as I'm getting the same codes but the car acceleration is very good only goes in check engine light and limp mode take key starts fine and drives fine.

Of course you should go on! You make unique Alfa content which is quite specialised. This may be part of the problem. Personally, and probably for most of your subscribers, this is exactly what we want, but to keep YT happy maybe you need to make content for a broader audience or about something that is trending, like electric cars 😔 for example.
