  • The #bike originally came with a #michelin #medium #enduro 140/80/18 in the rear. This was an amazing tire but it was a #FIM #tire so the tread was about half height. I next tried a gummy GT and it worked great in the #rocks but horrible in the loose low traction terrian (all of #Socal #terrian now). So what next? I went with an #IRC #M5B 140/80/18, one ride one this tire and it was very apparent that this tire weighed significantly more than the GT and the Michelin tire. I noticed it the most trying to lug 2nd gear on technical climbs looking for traction. It would bog down 2nd gear so bad that my bike would almost stall vs having all the lugging capability I had with the two previous tires. So what did I do? I went down a tire size in the IRC M5B Evo Soft configuration to a 130/80/18. this should give me bad the 2nd gear low range. Stay tuned to the next video to find out! #shorts

Bro come on…. Your 2nd gear isn’t being compromised due to your tires.

I can feel a difference in response between the sizes. They are relatively heavy for a 300 to turn and grab the earth hard. There is some truth to what he’s saying but really just needs to work the clutch a little bit more imo

Sprockets are cheaper than tires. I always go 2-3 teeth larger rear sprocket on all new bikes. I have been known to go down 1-2 teeth on the front depending on where I’m going.

It absolutely does make a difference and it can be felt when you switch sizes

I run a 110/90/19 M5B on my crf. I originally purchased one because it was cheaper than a Dunlap (I don't like dunlaps for the riding I do) and never looked back. I ride everything from hard pack in the Tucson desert, rocks, sand, mud.... And that tire hooks up on everything. 👍

“Review” all I heard was complaining and not a single reason why the tire sucks

Recap...IRC m5b heavier than Michelin enduro? Pretty sure you were comparing the same m5b tires in different sizes.

140 is for a 500 not a 300...the 130 is the perfect size for 300. Love the M5B...best overall desert tire and lasts for a long time.

What's the difference in weight in the two IRC tires? Is it strictly a weight issue or is it a gearing issue because the 140 is taller?

The tire can’t be that much heavier for that bike effecting second gear low end tractoring can it ?
