When I was about 4 years old in the 70s, I had general anesthesia for a surgical procedure. Before the procedure, I was left alone in a hallway on a stretcher. I then remember being on the OR table and tried to ask the doc a question about what they were going to do to me. Everyone in the room ignored my questions and the doc just put the gas mask over my face. I immediately pushed it away, and the doc, saying nothing, put it back on my face and held it there so tightly ...after I woke up, the nurse was so cold. She said nothing and I woke up alone in a room. She just lifted the blanket up to check on me, saying nothing. I get so angry typing this out now and wonder what effect, if any, this experience had on me. I feel anger about it after all of these years.

I was only in my 30s when I realised how child hood illness affected my life ,it destroyed it .I wish great health and wisdom on all that live in this fantastic natural world .

What an inspiring video. Somatic Experiencing doesn't only address the traumas, which it does so well, but also the total being. It helps relieve fear and stress while at the same time restoring one's sense of aliveness, one's resiliency in dealing with future stressful events, and reengages one's ability to relate to other people in a fully present way. This video illustrates that beautifully.
