      I was a scratch golfer 20 years and two strokes ago. I lost some of my game after the 1st stroke, started getting it back and lost it completely after my 2nd stroke due to some brain damage. I've been fighting to get my game back and I have to say watching your videos is slowly bringing it back. My neurologist says it'll take up to 3 years for my brain to heal but your videos are helping immensely to help bring it back!
      I just want to say thank you.
      I have a pretty long road ahead, but I just keep moving forward following your drills, thanks for what you're doing.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Před 3 lety +1

      Great! Remember though... the most important thing is to be precise with your objective and where you want the ball to go and the flight. Tell your brain and body to see and feel what you want to do with intent. Then the swing has a much better chance of responding to the result you desire. Couple that with simple and sound mechanics...

Though I can’t run right out to a practice range like my frustrated friend can, I know that these ideas you have shared will help me. All the good ideas about the golf swing are associated with this basic practice. Ironically, I just 'discovered' this move for myself in my basement 'swing lab' this afternoon. Haven't taken it to the course yet, but was smashing it into the net - and it's so easy to repeat. Prior to this, I've always tried to keep the rear elbow (left for me as a lefty) close to my torso. I'm 60, and still have good mobility, and I'm hoping this results in some more distance. We shall see. Was glad to see this vid confirming I might be doing something right.

      @@TedInoue Ted I saw your comment about stretching the muscles along your flanks. I don't mean to get in your business but I don't think you should be feeling that. I think maybe you are not turning your hips nearly as much as you think you are. I am 70 and have no trouble with a substantial shoulder turn. Try straightening your trail leg in the backswing. Years ago that was the way the backswing was taught.

    I like the simple swing process, especially keeping head centered, in your videos with the side view shows a bit of head sway in the impact zone. Would have liked to see the side shot with wedge swing hitting the golf ball. When my head sways it’s weak high and right, but good video

      Other is to forget the head... just focus on rotating the sternum. Try making swings with thumb in middle of chest with left arm so elbow is out. You will feel like you rotate up and left

    Great lesson! Another suggestion for those who still find themselves swaying/reaching a little in each direction when trying to slap your hand (like me). Instead of slapping your hand in each direction, try uppercut punching your hand in each direction. I find that helped me stay centered and to really rotate my shoulders down more instead of lateral. @

      Depends... the hips are tight so if you flare open your toe it will help, same for closed stance a little. But this might slow your hip move through so I’d you get some fat you need to try to simply wind up to straighten the right leg a little more...

Then can determine if it’s the right fit for right now. But yes… always room for improvement and every week get a little better ;)
