    I'm a 3D printing hobbyist who found Alibre after being unhappy with the TOS and licensing costs of a different CAD software. I am so happy with Alibre that I actually recently made a whole video talking about why I love Alibre.

      I’m here after watching your video earlier actually. Couldn’t really afford to renew my f360 license since I only use it occasionally (and only utilise a fraction of the feature set), and atom3d really seems to make sense as an alternative. Been vaguely aware of Alibre for a while, but never appreciated how similar the workflow actually was to f360, SW etc.
      Really glad the algorithm randomly served me your video, and thanks for making it. 👍

After a week I have Mastered Alibre can can work circles around the other programs! Anyone want to buy a cheap copy of AUTOCAD or Fusion 360? I'm getting RID of them and fast!!! Great video. It would be interesting track to see if it adds to any sales. I see it is also posted on Facebook but it would be nice to see Alibre's LinkedIn page updated with it too.

    Having explored various CAD software options, I'm genuinely impressed with Alibre Design's performance and versatility. It strikes a perfect balance between ease of use and advanced functionality, making it ideal for both simple and complex projects. The fact that it supports a wide array of import formats is a huge plus, ensuring seamless integration with different workflows. Additionally, its cost-effectiveness and the option for a lifetime license really set it apart in the market. This is a game-changer for businesses looking to optimize their resources without compromising on quality. 👍 #CADRevolution #AlibreAdvantage

    I'm in at the very lowest end currently, with Atom 3D. I'm absolutely sold on Alibre, and as soon as my hobbyist's budget will stretch to cover it, I'll be upgrading to Pro.

      I am and feel exactly the same and with some little effort I have been able to overcome some of the missing features issues (with the lowest subscription offerings). The only thing I have not found a work around for is the "thin" versions of some of the drawing tools

    • @jameskilpatrick7790
      @jameskilpatrick7790 Před 7 měsíci

      @@michaelmessuri7746 Yes, I agree that there are workarounds for many of the features reserved for the more expensive versions. I got used to doing such things with other software, and with practice, most are very effective and can be done relatively quickly. I also have the experience of upgrading that other software, and I found that having the proper tools at hand made life very much nicer. :)
      Still, you make a good point. Atom 3D is very capable, and creative use of the tools it provides can allow it to punch very far above it's weight, with regard to price. Alibre has a real winner in the parametric CAD market for hobby and small business.

      I have been using fusion 360 and a lot of that uses push pull on sketches, I saw push pull direct modeling isn't part of the program do you know how limiting that is?

  • @rogerfroud300

    Have they finally fixed the memory management issues that cause it to hoard memory until the Control Panel is finally closed? How about the issues with large assemblies bringing it to its knees. I've used it for years, but am not about to pay for an upgrade until these serious issues have been addressed.
    It used to have MecSoft's CAM integrated into it. However, having fallen out with them, that's no longer available unless something has changed. I don't want an completely separate CAM solution, I want it all in one package like Fusion 360 has. That's where I'd go if I was starting again from scratch.

Smelling your roses at one of your swede suspects, I found it a bit difficult to differentiate descriptions of capabilities (and limitations) to your various sale software models between as ex Atom 3D, Pro and Expert. Do you have a link to somewhere that can nail such comparances firmly down for me ?

    I'm very interested in this product, but I use Linux exclusively. I did some searches for "wine alibre" and didn't see anything recent. Will it run under Wine in 2024ish?

    • @AlibreLLC
      @AlibreLLC  Před 6 měsíci

      Not to my knowledge, but currently we are migrating away from .net framework to .net core, and that will make porting to Apple and Linux possible. I'm also Linux exclusive on my personal machines, I run Alibre on a Qemu VM and it runs normally for me. Native Linux installs are possibly around the corner, don't give up on us just yet!

    Was willing to give it a shot until the price on the hobbyist version DOUBLED. I saw a video from Nov 2023 where it was $99. So I went to give it a try and saw the price is now 199. I guess you don't realize that $100 is the cut off for most hobbyists, So will stick with FreeCAD.
    Also notice pro Designer went from 599 to 999. I know inflation has been bad the last year but it hasn't been 67- 100%.

    • @AlibreLLC
      @AlibreLLC  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for your thoughts. The price of Alibre Atom has always been $200, ever since it was released, and has stayed at that level regardless of inflation. You saw a promotional price of $100, along with the promotional prices of Pro and Expert.

      You'll have to get a separate cam package for that. I've got Alibre Expert for my own use, but at work I have a seat of Fusion 360. I've played with the cam in Fusion and love it, and like the way the cad and cam are "connected". That's the one thing I miss in Alibre, but then again, an Alibre license is perpetual, and doesn't cost A$1000 per year RENTAL, like Fusion, and with Alibre I have the files on my computer, not in the cloud.

    Fusion has used the drug dealer sales model, getting you hooked on the product then turning you into their caged over charged milk cow for the rest of your life with them. Just a reboot of Autodesk's original overpriced offerings. Alibre does it right with the option of a reasonably priced paid version OR subscription model. Done how the USER prefers.

    Alibre Cad is not suitable for plasma. Their post processor, MeshCam, does not put out in the .g-code file format.

    • @sevendaysworth
      @sevendaysworth Před 6 měsíci

      Alibre CAD works great for designing parts for plasma. The optional CAM add-on (MeshCAM) is not suitable for plasma, but there are other options that can be combined with Alibre to output gcode for plasma machines.
