How To UnYellow And Restore Air Jordan 11 Soles

- Welcome back to another episode of Shoe Care Academy! This week Jonny Bubbles is back to show you how to use one of RESHOEVN8R’S most beloved products - Sole Revive!
Bubbles picked up a pair of ‘Derek Jeter’ Jordan 11 Lows from eBay, and the outsoles on these things were flat out disrespectful - so yellow we were afraid that even our Sole Revive might strike out.
Before getting started on the outsoles, Jonny gave the uppers a dry pass using our medium bristle brush. The suede was already pretty damaged, likely from improper cleaning techniques, but this helped get rid of the dust and dirt that coated the midnight navy suede on the uppers.
Before Bubbles could apply the magical sauce, it was extremely important to clean the outsoles. Applying Sole Revive to a dirty shoe will not work! Using some water, solution, and the stiff bristle brush from our Signature Kit, Jonny did his thing and got those soles bubbly. This video will also teach you exactly why it’s important to keep the dark colored suede on your kicks dry (unless they are VERY dirty). While Jonny was filming the video, he left the shoe sitting upside down for too long, allowing the water and solution to run down into the suede. As you saw in the video, this led to color bleeding. Luckily it’s not a new pair!
Once the outsole had been dry, Jonny applied a thin but even layer of Sole Revive across the yellowed outsoles. As Bubbles mentioned, it’s important that you do NOT get Sole Revive on the white traction areas of the shoe as this could affect the material and the traction. Before Jonny applied the Shrink Wrap he applied a second coat of Sole Revive. Once the Sole Revive dries up, it’s no longer effective and you will need to apply an additional coat.
Into the ‘Vick 2000’, the shoes went - an indoor grow box with three 1,500 watt UV lights and built in fans. After four long days there was a visible difference, but definitely not the result we were looking for. After reapplying additional coats of Sole Revive and three more days in the indoor setup, the soles were back to milky white! RE2PECT!
Even though this wasn’t a cleaning video, you know how much crunchy suede bothers Jonny, so before leaving he hit the uppers with a few coats of RESHOEVN8R Mink Oil and brushed it in with a horse hair brush (coming soon). Back to that buttery feeling!

yeah, i'm not all that big on the low shoes. the last pair i added to my collection was the C Law adidas in purple/black/mint. i fell in love - and they didn't make it in a high top. but the color of this shoe is dramatic and i would consider it in a high top... nice results with the sole revive!

I watched the OW AF1 video, and i'm about to buy a white OW Blazer. I was wondering if i could remove the yellowing from the uper (on the synthetic material) with the same product that you used on the sole
Unfortunately the yellowing on the uppers is not something to remove with Sole Revive. This is meant for clear bottoms or rubber soles. However, the UV lights could help slightly with unyellowing the uppers.

Quick question…when eaving icy soles out on a cloudy day will it still have any effect? Because its been said the UV rays are still active even when its cloudy and you can still get sunburn on a cloudy day…so you think its worth leaving shoes out or its better to wait for a sunny day?
Honestly it should be fine as long as it isn't raining, but sunny days are always what we recommend.

Can ya provide a link to those UV lights you guys have. I bought a similar looking light off Amazon that said it was a full spectrum 600 watt UV grow light but it doesn’t emit that purple-blue-ish light that I see every other CZcamsr showcasing
Get UV-C lights with a wavelength at or around 254 nm. This is what works best with hydrogen peroxide bleaching agents. Those hundreds of watts of grow light only emit so much uv-c light (which is the wavelength that you really need) and waste a lot of energy on visibile light, that does nothing for unyellowing.
With Jordans 11 having this yellowing issues for years one might think Nike would make a sole that doesn’t yellow 🤷🏻♂️

After using sole revive for a 7 hour session I am seeing white stain marks on my soles around where I applied the sauce and it looks like it spreads , there no way I'm the only one experiencing this problem , had it happen with salon care and sole revive .. ANY help would be much appreciated !
This is not something we've encountered before. When applying Sole Revive, be sure you're using a thing layer. If you'd like DM us some pictures on Instagram, we'd be more than happy to take a look.

If you lose traction aka becomes slippery, is there a way to get that rubbery texture back?
Unfortunately not. Once a material like that has been worn down or damaged, it can only be replaced.
Might have to try the sauce. I tried to buy product stronger than saloncare 40 at the store to speed up the process and they said I needed a license to purchase.

Not sure if someone else asked this question but when you guys say you left it in the box for a week do you take it out from time to time to reapply or let it rest? I guess what I'm asking is if left in the sun for two weeks the shoe would clearly separate but is that an issue with an indoor setup?
Yes, we reapply sole revive almost daily. Once the sole revive dries it no longer works so it's important to put another coat on if need be.

How many sessions? How many times did you have to reapply this sauce? I’m working on some netting on some Jordan 5’s that’s taking forever.
Honestly, the netting on 5s don't revive well. I restore shoes and I've never had them fully come back to life.... I seriously don't think anyone has lol
We reapplied this a couple times. Unfortunately once the netting is yellow you can't undo it. We only recommend using Sole Revive on the soles of your sneakers.

I think it’s just a uv light
It's UV lighting, but the indoor system has built in fans to prevent overheating. The shoes are safe!

Unlikely. Once the Sole Revive dries it does not continue to work.

How can I apply sole revive to the sides of the retro 5s? It's probably hard not to stop the chemical from getting behind the rubber netting.
Unfortunately we do not recommend applying Sole Revive there. We only put it on midsoles and outsoles. To stop yellowing on other parts of the shoe you really just have to rely on the UV lights
@@RESHOEVN8R even on that clear rubber mesh part that tends to yellow just like the sole does (not the leather itself, but the rubber mesh on each side.

Unfortunately there is no unyellowing agent that I would recommend to put on mesh. The best way to unyellow that is to utilize UV lights and it will help.

Hey just curoous on your opinion…how hot is too hot to leave your shoes in the sun risking seperation? Is 90 degrees too hot?
We let ours dry here in Arizona where it's much hotter than that, you just don't want to leave them for too long
