      ball speed and club speed was not very high...must have been super fast grid with wind at their back or something

    Amazing how much more powerful the long drive guys are these days. They were in the 130 mph area only a few years ago...now 150 is normal.

      Different monitors

  • @industrialpalletworx3548

    I've personally met Carl while I worked for Ben Witter years ago. Carl could hit it back then but he was a bit of a douche bag too. He ruined 2 screens that Ben had on the launch monitor and never offered to replace either one. For all the guys with the comments about drive for show putt for dough, ya'll only say that because you can't blast it out there nearly as far as these guys. However, I do know that Jason Zuback used to get a lot of shit for not being a good player. Guys would pay to play with the "World Long Drive Camp" and would go out and beat him. Ben told me that story, so Jason worked on his game and got down to a low single digit handicap. Carl on the other hand I don't think he could play at all. I never seen him really hit anything else other than a driver. Dude used to break so many heads, which in reality wasn't that terribly hard back then. The welds used to break on the bottom where the face and sole would meet.

    Your example is perfect example of the force equation F=MA where force equals massXacceleration. These athletes may have different mass, but it is not a factor in how much force they can put on the ball. Now if a golfer could swing a 100LB driver the same speed as a 12oz driver he could send a ball to the moon.

    You'd think if you were slicing every ball that far right, you'd make some changes. I.e. shift baseline further right.

  • @BirdmanDeuce26
    @BirdmanDeuce26 Před 12 lety

    If they had to find the ball, they probably would...slicing is not exactly conducive to a nice long drive, though. They're more likely gambling on getting everything to click correctly on their current target line - I believe in this competition the right centre of the grid was the side that offered the best roll.

    these guys could learn to putt well far before you could gain 200 yards off the tee..

  • @rjgriffiths26
    @rjgriffiths26 Před 11 lety

    Your comment does not make sense. Do you mean that they could learn to putt really well, before I could gain 200 yards off the tee? If so, then I disagree as I don't need to gain 200 yards off the tee - accuracy is my problem. I'd still beat you though ;-)

  • @rjgriffiths26
    @rjgriffiths26 Před 11 lety

    No point being able to hit it long if you can only hit an accurate shot as little as these guys - drive for show, putt for dough!

    if 2 golfers hit the ball at 130mph with square faces in the same direction and angle, the only differance would be weight, let me give you an example, if you hit a human in the stomach with your golf swing going 130mph(clubhead)it will hurt really bad now hit a human with a car going 130mph he will fly about a mile.
