No, it used to work but stopped and I have to press Assistant to get it to work, I retrained the voice but it still wont work, the microphone icon is not in the search bar either

When I say 'hey Google the mic green dot comes up, but I can't actually do anything. If I ask for directions, for example, the dot just goes away after a moment and Google Maps doesn't come up. When I try to do this with the screen off, nothing at all happens. What am I doing wrong? I have Galaxy S22+, if it matters.

It seems the functionality of Google voice assistant is based on the primary language settings of your phone. Google Assistant will be greyed out of within your phone's language settings your primary language isn't a sorted language.

If You Don’t like phone Answering services that refuse to connect you to a human ! Then Hey Google is not for you ! I have to ask Google Sometimes over 5 times to shut up ! But like most women these days don’t have the decency or common manners to stop talking when asked politely and continues playing music that I didn’t ask for or answers a question I didn’t ask for two or three minutes which pisses me off to no end ! I have come close to throwing the piece of crap , in the garage along with the rotten vegetables and stew I throw out !
