This year as gifts, we are making vintage style fruit baskets! With the way prices are, who wouldn't like a nice basket filled with fruit, nuts, maybe some jams and breads and a few candy treats? Each basket we plan to make will feed a whole family :) Thank you for all your amazing inspirations!
My elderly neighbor loves Coke and chocolate. For Christmas, I pick one or the other as a theme. Last year, though, I did neither. It was a Warm Theme. Hot chocolate and mug, slippers, super soft blanket, and thin gloves that keep her warm but allow her to use the remote control and her phone.
Coke theme: Case of Coke, Coca Cola playing cards, and a personalized bottle of In Case of Emergency Coke, and a Coke magnet.
I don't spend a lot but more than my budget per child or grandchild for her because she is a widow with no children and all alone. When she's up to it, she spends holidays with us or I take over a plate of food and treats.

Here it is almost Christmas 20, 23, and I just came across your last Christmas video. I think you've got the greatest kids. I think if you gave them a tortilla wrapped in napkin they'd be happy and you are so blessed to have them. I can see you no matter what they get from you and Dusty. They're happy with it. My favorite auntie memory is buying two used china tea sets and two Christmas blankets for my nieces. Then every year I'd bring Christmas snack cakes or cookies and hot cocoa over to my sister's house and we'd have a picnic on the floor with the tea sets and blankets, often with some of their bffs to join us. It would be one of the first things we'd do when I arrived.
I love gathering items specifically for whoever you are making a gift basket for & putting it together for them! I do it every year. One themed basket that's my favorite for a reading fanatic is to pick up books 📚 of the genres the person likes best all year long @ dollar tree & thrift stores! Add the person's favorite beverage & a fuzzy blanket or fuzzy socks - their favorite snacks , a new book mark & maybe a candle! The prettiest basket ! Thanks for showing us this! Love 💕

My Sister in laws Birthday is right before Thanksgiving. A couple of years ago I thought about what she really needed. TIME. So I made a gingerbread dough and a sugar cookie dough, a brown sugar dough she could put chocolate chips, or oatmeal or peanut butter into. She put them into the freezer, and she and my niece made tons of cookies for friends and family. You don't have to make all the dough I did for a great gift, but at the holidays the gift of time is everything😊😊😊❤❤❤.

Movie night is one of our go-to gifts for families with older kids or teen birthdays! We usually do a gift bag with a bag of microwave popcorn, one candy, and a large bag of chips. We will often put a Redbox gift certificate in the card so they can choose their own movie. We starting doing it after someone gave that gift to our family and we loved it!
My kids have always preferred making memories by doing things together than getting things!!

I just bought my grandsons Christmas at the resale shop. Less than $20 and 3 gifts. They look brand new. The only thing missing is the packaging. 🤷🏻♀️
My neighbor are a family of eight. Last year and this year I put together a hot chocolate box filling it with coffee tea and hot chocolate and things that go with the drinks Manley candy and cookies and marshmallows. They love it!!!

I agree with you. If someone is unhappy about the gift you've chosen, they don't deserve a gift. It's the thought that counts. Homemade food treats from me for gifts were common for several years when times were lean. I love getting homemade gifts and gifts that were put together. It shows they cared enough to think about it.❤️❤️❤️
I made that mistake one year providing friends with homemade gifts they did not appreciate. Yeah we aren't friends any longer sad when folks only care about money

Oh I just remembered, another great project with your kids is making cinnamon ornaments for the tree. A little cinnamon, flour and cheap cookie cutters. And a ton of fun.
I love making homemade gifts like… candles, cookies, caramel dip, and different muffins or mini loaf’s. I always get complements the following Christmas about may family remembering about the item’s I had made or baked the year before. And that just warms my ♥️ to hear that 🎄 🍪 🎁 🍞 🍮 🕯
I do this every year. On movie box I have gotten Redbox gift card. Black Friday they last 2 year's had gift card special. I have also at Dollar tree gotten 2 pack kool aid and sometimes they have very small sugar. So now add to one of the family nites and you got drinks. I also look for outings. My daughter and grandson like to hike. So small backpack and feel with trail mix, water straws are fun to do. Maybe add a visor or hat or good thick socks. One for my daughter and grandson. I have paid for entry to park or beach if you have one near by. If your family has a way to build fire. Make a Smores kit and stuff for weeine roast. Great vlog. My girls are grown now but when they were little anytime I got to the Dollar Tree by myself I would try to find one or two things for them. I would take them home and stash them and then come Christmas I would have a gift bag and they would each have it filled with Dollar Tree stuff. My kids say this was one of their favorite gifts that they can remember! There would be candies and stationery and toys and coloring books just an assortment. But it was like a big grab bag of fun and since I did a little at a time even though it probably was like a $30 gift it was easy for me to afford. Another idea for a tween or teen girl you could make a manicure basket they have those little nail sets and a couple nail polish and remover Maybe that would be good if you didn't buy something for the whole family and you wanted to Frugal teenager idea. Also one year after my dad died I sat and wrote 52 memories I had with my family from growing up to adulthood and I gave it to my mom in a cute jar that I decorated. So when she's feeling sad and lonely she can take one of the memories out and read it and it makes her smile. She loved that gift!

Love it. I've always loved creating memories for family. For my daughter's 40th bday I created a scrapbook of 40 of my cherished memories of her childhood and included photos. Did the same for my parents 75th birthdays.
I love this! I keep my eyes open all year long for clearance deals on things that would be good to put as part of a family gift for the holidays. Then when the season is here, I am ready and can put the best gifts together for very cheap.

we do this alot, and not just for christmas. 💙💜💚💜💙 weve done taco ones with tortillas, salsa, queso & nacho chips, in a big chip bowl then we would add salsa bowls or specialty hot sauce. There is also spaghetti night with the parm chz, fancy sauce & some crafty noodles with a nice dishtowel and also date nite with a cute cheapie fleece blanket from Tramlaw, A good rom/com movie and a candle
I think I will do the movie in a box for my kids on Christmas eve

I make body, face lotion, foot/habd scrubs, bath oils. I am attempting to make decorations this year - love homemade, special, and family gifts. One family I gave a snowbrick making kit to be used in making a snowfort, snowman etc. A friend of mine liked to give her late mother in law puzzles as gifts. Well I gave the same friend's sister a ride home to the senior apartments where she lived. They had a FREE table. I found a brand new, unopened puzzle to give my friend for her mother in law ! Great idea of making memories. One tradition we had when the kids were small was after eating Thanksgiving dinner we went outside and put up Christmas decorations, went back inside, put up the tree then had hot chocolate and pumpkin pie. Memories…. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰

These were great ideas. Since my boys were little we have been mostly giving thrifted gifts with a couple new things sprinkled in, it saves a ton!
I kind of hope everyone decides to skip niece and nephew gifts, but if not each family is getting a set of toy Walkie talkies. (~20 per set on Amazon) They can all be used on the same channel and I know it’ll keep them entertained while the adults are yapping.

We are big into experiences. A family trip, family night at the theatre and go to the deluxe seats with a waiter that comes to your recliner, or an interactive dinner like hibachi. Those are my favs. OR give them things they need if they are struggling. Mega TP pack & cleaning supplies are great for kids who are at college or in their first apartment. Great video!
Yes last year we did not cocoa mix in a jar and Christmas cookies in a jar. we just wrote the recipe and wrapped around with ribbon. I love gifts like these . I have done the movie boxes also. So fun. I saw one where you could do family ice cream night. I thought that was fun too. Great ideas.

I love your boys! You and Dusty have been raising them very well! I have 3 of my 4 granddaughters living with me and my husband. One is a baby, but the older two have heard me reminding them (a lot!) to “be positive and kind!” I will often say this when they are bickering. Well, wouldn't you know, they have been getting along SO much better lately.
I myself, have been taking the advice of being “positive and kind” when I notice I am cranky. Words said aloud are powerful. Whether good or bad, they stay with us forever. I read once that our subconscious remembers everything. It shapes us.

This is a great idea. Gifts for the whole family. It seems that over the years Christmas has become very commercialized and a contest to see who can out do who.
But there has been times in the early part of my marriage when money was tight like now. I made homemade gifts. Because I like to bake it things like cookies, banana bread, pumpkin bread and homemade candies. I have also done things like homemade mixes for cookies, muffins and things like that. I still do this for some people. But I like the idea for these gift packages.
We even did a care package for a college student. You could do care packages for single parents, elderly couples or singles or anyone else that you can think of. This could be food, personal items or laundry and cleaning supplies.
Just a little food for thought.
I love Christmas as well. Decorating for Christmas already.

I all forgot to say that memories are what last a lifetime. To be apart of that is a memory for you as well. The gift baskets and homemade goodies or homemade gifts are also special to the people you give them to. It said I put a lot of thought into this and made this for you, with love.
I also gave homemade goodie gifts to my kids teachers from kindergarten through high school. I included the principals, counselors and office secretaries. The junior high and high school teachers loved it because it made them feel special. They said no one remembered them. I later went to work in offices and just made plates of a variety of homemade goodies.
Most of all everyone loved them because it was gifts full of thought and love. I have only had a handful that didn’t seem to appreciate the gifts.

Growing up my family did game nights regularly. A great all-around game for the whole family is usually card sets: Uno, Phase 10, or a couple of regular decks with a card games rule book. Another "treat" to add to the family nights is stuff to make your own pizza. Chef Boyardee used to have a pantry kit that was shelf stable... I wonder if they still do...

My parents last year did big family board games for us to be able to play the games when we got together. It was fun cause we were not opening up so many gifts. I get frustrated with so many sense we go to two grandma houses and they give us so many gifts then we're tried by 5 clock. But we're my mom did just big board games that we fun we had time to play them instead of still opening up gifts.
