Playing on a contrabass doesn't mean that you automatically play lower. It's just easier. Your lips need to vibrate to that frequency to play a note
Also, some bass trombonist can play lower than the human ear can hear
@@davidjelinek248 The point is not the 'low'. The point is the timbre. Contrabass sounds different, regardless of the range, just as bass sounds different than tenor, regardless of the range. So, without a doubt, Chis' pedal Gs and Ds in this piece would sound fantastic on contra.
