Onewheel Pint Range and Pushback Test // Potato Run

- I wanted to see what kind of range the new Onewheel Pint would give me and my wife needed some potatoes for dinner so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to test out the little guy. I was curious to see if I could get similar range numbers that I was seeing from other riders if I just ride the way I normally do. I live in a pretty hilly area and I weigh about 180 lbs so I thought it would be a good test of the range. I was able to get ~8miles with 10% left on the battery which seemed pretty great to me. Its not a Onewheel XR but that is more than what Future Motion is adverting (6-8 mile range). I was averaging 10 mph and even hit pushback a few times which came in around 13-14 mph, a little lower than the 15mph I saw on my Onewheel plus. The little Pint is just a blast to ride, super nimble and quick, if you have the chance to get one I would highly recommend it, just know you will be limited in the range department depending on terrain, weight temperature etc. I also tested out charging the battery and found the slow charger took about 90 minutes to get the 90% charge.

Do you recommend having the guard above the wheel? I wiped out the other day and burned my leg so thinking it might be worth it.
yea Matt I definitely do,, it helps with dust, water etc (I was actually thinking about making a vid showing how it helps with water etc). The only downside was the colors, I wanst big on future motion's color combos so I just got the dark gray one. Did you get a pint or an XR?
Haven’t received mine yet but i ordered the fender because of that, then watching videos I’ve saw that helps to keep the OW and your shoes clean
I have a pint and hate the look of the fender but in winter it is a must here in Australia

I'm about 15 miles into my board and loving it! It feels a lot like snowboarding in powder but with the Onewheel you can ride uphill which is something you can't do with a snowboard. I recommend not letting the battery get below 15%. Keep it charged. Don't let the battery level get too low, but also don't ride downhill when it's at 100% charge or the regen will overcharge the battery. Have fun!

You make it look so easy. It’s impossible to ride for me. But placing it in the cart part is one of the main reasons I purchased the Pint. That convenience seems priceless.

This is pretty much what I expected for hilly terrain and pushing it a little faster. It's killer range for such a small device that will charge in under an hour with the ultracharger! Great vid!

I had my pint for few days and I really like it, I would say it’s nice vehicle to cruise, it’s not made for speed but it can get you quickly to places.

John D Dyer I was also thinking a pint for my wife. Then unfortunately she had a low speed fall on the xr and sprained her knee. She is recovering well and to her credit she still very much wants to ride.

Is the push back you show before the grocery shop due to the mode? ie. The speed was not at it's max speed?
Also, thoughts and experience using the mini front wheels to help prevent nose diving?
no that pushback was due to speed, I havent seen any pushback due to mode (it possible my speed reading is a little off but in general the pint is not super fast). I would love the wheels in the front, I have them for plus, honestly i think they should come on the board.

Beautiful view. Looks like you definitely took a diffeeent route. Compared to the mew skateboard video. Sounded like you already favor this board before making the other video. How about a off road all terrain skateboard? Have a video with one of those? Recommend it if you havent.
It was actually the same route, I just didnt show some of the scenic parts bc I did it the time before but I guess that would have been nice both time...its tough bc about 30% of the ride is pretty rough on the skateboard because of the road conditions...when its smooth it is a blast tho, I dont think I did many wooo's on the pint lol. I havent tried an offroad skateboard, its on the list for sure. I might try an EUC first tho...

I never even heard of the pint....actually saw pic and thought it was to tow stuff. Perhaps cause I'm older than you .....and female? I would never have crossed that 4 lane road holding a selfie stick. Was nervous just watching you. I certainly couldn't carry 5lb of potatoes with my other hand doing it. Yikes

My Pint JUST shipped but my accessories are lagging behind. Did you get a bundle or did you buy the board and fender separate so they would arrive at the same time?
Well I skipped the line and picked one up at a retail store in ATL then separately ordered the accessories after I got the board... I cheated😃
Man i want one, to play with, i like the mobility size an the the price , range is good enough for casual use, i can afford the pint now an the xr after income tax lol but torn on decision, i weigh about 215- 220, its hard to justify the cost of xr plus off of range alone ,when i can literally buy a car for same price lol. Its needs to way more software features before i could pay that much, thank you an keep up the great shredding!

Thanks Boss! It will give you pushback at about 13-14 mph so I won’t go past that. I am sure there will be people that ride past pushback but you are flirting with nosedive then and need to be able to recover which I can’t lol. So for me it’s about 13mph.

Have you had any issues with the wobbles? Or foot/ankle fatigue and advice on how to deal with that? Great videos!!
I did early on and as my muscles got stronger it went away, just had to get some miles on the board. I have also found that putting pressure on the corners helps, like push on my front toes and rear heals ( so opposing sides) helped with stability too. Ride on man, thanks for the watch!
I noticed your overlay of the speedometer, is that the GoPro overlay? I've never been able to get it to work with the GoPro while riding.

Yea man it’s the gopro one ( I did have to flip it in the edit since I filmed with the gopro upside down which was a pita). You have to go into region settings turn on gps then edit the video after you download it to the app to add the overlay.

I have a video where I compare the 2 but tey are different and each can be a blast. It really depends on how you will ride it. If its super hilly a skateboard is prolly a better bet but if the roads are rough then the onehwheel is much better, then there is always the EUC!

How do you feel - is the range enough for, for example, riding in the park or it's better to buy XR+? I mean, XR has 2x range, but you may feel that 40-60 minute ride a day is totally enough and you don't want more.
I always want more range buuuut you can get 2 pints for the price of one xr and so if you have anyone you want to share the onewheel experience with I would go pint for sure for that reason alone. In my case I have my wife and nephew are interested. I also have heard rumors that the pint is better waterproofed which is a pretty big deal..still nothing concrete on that front but time will tell

its more maneuverable, but the plus is more stable off road so it depends on the type of riding I think.

Buy a used one and sell it if you don’t like it! I bet you could sell it for basically what you bought it for if you don’t like it. That’s what I did whenever I was unsure about these electric things. My first boosted and onewheel were used ( I ended up loving them both tho!)

181.7lbs with a 11.8lbs backpack or about 190 lbs total ;)

I've had a boosted board before and I currently have an ES4 scooter, but I'm loving the idea of the onewheel for it's compactness and maneuverability.

Yea for sure. It helps when you are carrying the board to keep the tire off ya and if it’s every damp or wet it’s a necessity unless you want water sprayed on your crotch lol
